Wedding Photography Bagden Hall | Melanie and Richard

Summer seemed to take a long time to arrive this year but it finally burst in on Melanie and Richard's wedding day.  As experienced Bagden Hall wedding photographers we know that this venue has beautiful grounds offering great locations for photographs but during the early afternoon the light was very harsh, meaning that certain photographs we had planned would wait until after the wedding breakfast when the light had softened.  Melanie got ready at her parents' home and we were warmly welcomed by her mum and sister, as Melanie had her hair and make-up done.  After we'd taken photographs of this, Melanie's gorgeous dress and accessories and a few lovely shots as Melanie's dad saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time, we left the girls to their final preparations and set off to meet Richard and his best man to begin the wedding photography at Bagden Hall. Before the wedding Melanie wouldn't let anyone into the secret of what kind of car she and her dad were going to arrive in.  She had chosen an elegant Rolls Royce from Rolls Hire Vintage Limousines.  The couple married in an intimate civil ceremony in the restaurant with their closest family and friends around them.  Afterwards Melanie and Richard left everyone and enjoyed a ride in the Rolls Royce and when they arrived back we worked through their group photographs.  By the time we'd finished the groups the restaurant had been transformed and once we'd photographed this, the cake and the table details, the receiving line started.  As creative Wakefield wedding photographers we're always on the look out for opportunities for stunning wedding photographs which make our work stand out, and as soon as we'd arrived at Bagden Hall we'd spotted the meadow near the lake.  It always looks different depending on the time of year and now it was full of bright yellow buttercups. There had been no time to make the most of it earlier in the day and in any case, the early evening brought with it beautiful soft light, a bit of time and the opportunity to get something really special.  The guests were treated to a selection of delicious ice creams, as Melanie and Richard had hired Graham and Lisa of A Taste if Italy to come along in the evening and set up their cart in the grounds.    Apparently, the banana flavour was the couple's favourite and the strawberry was delicious too!  Mr and Mrs Tanfield danced their first dance together and we ended their coverage with a some photographs of the two of them at the entrance to Bagden Hall.  Thank you so much for booking us to capture your special day.

Getting married at Bagden Hall?  We would love to hear from you.

Waterton Park Hotel Wedding Photographers | Natasha and Richard

We were over the moon to receive Rich's enquiry to ask if we were available to provide the Waterton Park wedding photography for him and Tash.  Although the couple live down south, Rich explained that as Tash hails from Huddersfield, a wedding outside Yorkshire was out of the question and as recommended wedding photographers for Waterton Park Hotel, we were very happy when the couple booked us to capture their celebrations at this beautiful venue.  We arrived at the suite where Tash and her girls were getting ready and the atmosphere was relaxed and tranquil.  The suites at Waterton Park Hotel offer plenty of space and have two large beds, meaning we could take over one of them; not for a quick nap you understand, but as a base on which to photograph Tash's dress, shoes and jewellery.  Our next stop was with Rich and his attendants as they got ready in the bridal suite across the bridge in Walton Hall.  We found an exquisite and very unusual background on which to photograph the wedding rings.  After the boys' portraits on the island, we headed back to see how Tash was getting on in the last few minutes before the civil ceremony.  The guests gathered afterwards for a spectacular shower of confetti before Pauline, one of the dedicated wedding co-ordinators, invited everyone back onto the island for the drinks reception.  It's great when a couple and their bridal party are up for a laugh and these guys certainly where, so we worked quickly through the group shots and managed to grab a few minutes for some fun Waterton Park wedding photos before it was time to photograph the wedding breakfast room and table details.  Looking through the photographs from Tash and Rich's special day and it's obvious what a fabulous time they had.  Tash did warn us that she was likely to crack up a lot and she and Rich look deliriously happy in their gorgeous photographs.  Nothing wrong in that!  Thank you for giving us the pleasure of sharing your wedding day at your lovely venue and for being wonderful to work with.  We're very pleased that the weather stayed as happy as you two! If you would like to share our images on your Facebook page you are very welcome to do so as long as our details are kept on them.

If you like our work and are looking for a Waterton Park Hotel wedding photographer please give us a call.

Wedding Photographer Hazlewood Castle | Rebecca and Matthew

Being Hazlewood Castle wedding photographers means a lot to us as we love working at this venue.  It offers so much variety for a Yorkshire wedding photographer and it was our pleasure to be invited by Rebecca and Matt to capture their special day, which started with Janet paying a visit to Rebecca as she was being pampered in the spa.  Whilst this was underway Alex took charge of photographing the dress and accessories, including a spectacular pair of Irregular Choice shoes.  This was followed by portraits of the boys around the grounds, the couple's civil ceremony in the Old Dining Room, their blessing in the Chapel of St Leonard conducted by the wonderful Ian Walton who truly makes each marriage ceremony very personal and very special, their drinks reception with family and friends, right through to their first dance and entertainment from a DJ and a heavy rock band in the evening.  The couple love fashion with a Gothic twist, favouring black and purple especially, and yet our bride had chosen a gorgeous ivory, princess style dress and our groom a smart, traditional suit.  Not surprisingly their favourite Cadbury purple did feature in the flowers, bridesmaids' dresses and accessories and also in the Great Hall dressed for the wedding breakfast.  It was one of those days when the sun kept appearing from behind the clouds and then disappearing again; challenging lighting conditions for wedding photographers, but we were really happy that it stayed dry.  As we had a fantastic bridal party who were very much up for a laugh, we got them all involved in some fun Hazlewood Castle wedding photography before we were left alone with Rebecca and Matt for their pre-wedding breakfast portrait session.  Matt had been really nervous about being photographed but our relaxed, friendly and encouraging approach won him over and we think he actually enjoyed the experience!  We ended our coverage of the couple's day with some gorgeous twilight photographs in our favourite spot for wedding photographs at Hazlewood Castle - the courtyard.  Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Starkie for booking us to photograph your wedding at Hazlewood Castle and a special thank you to Ben, Matt's brother and best man, for his kind words of thanks to us which we really appreciated.  All images are the copyright of Alex & Janet Durasow.  If you would like to use them on Facebook you are welcome to do so with our logo and details on them.   If you are getting married and are interested in our services for your Hazlewood Castle wedding photographs we would love to hear from you.
