Wedding Photographer Wood Hall | Jade and Jonathan's Wedding

Jade and Jonathan booked us to be their Wood Hall wedding photographers after seeing the Leeds wedding photography that we did for a friend of theirs.  We love it when people tell us they found us through a recommendation.  We were truly spoilt with three beautiful venues, a gorgeous couple and weather which wasn't too bad, just a bit windy.  We started the wedding photography at Oulton Hall where Jade got ready with her bridesmaids; a lovely venue and a spacious suite in which to capture this exciting part of a wedding day and to photograph her dress and accessories.  Jade was determined to be fully ready before we had to leave to meet Jonny and his guys and start the Holy Trinity Church, Rothwell wedding photography and we were really happy to be able to photograph our bride coming down the stairs and get a couple of portraits at the front door before we had to dash.  After a really enjoyable photo session with the boys at the church we were ready and waiting for Jade to arrive with her proud dad.  Sheena conducted the ceremony and kindly allowed photographs from the front and the back, the weather stayed dry, the couple were pelted with confetti at the church gate and everyone headed off to celebrate at Wood Hall Hotel & Spa. With the group photos and a few couple shots in the bag, Jade and Jonny enjoyed a drink and a mingle and we photographed the Vavasour Suite which looked spectacular dressed in pink.  The speeches were hilarious and emotional, just how we like them, and an early ceremony in summer meant we had loads of daylight left after the wedding breakfast for our favourite part of a wedding day, the romantic bride and groom session, where things slow down and are less hectic, and we can spend some time taking our signature fine art wedding portraits.  We did a bit of a detour first though, as some fun shots with their bridal party were very much on Jade and Jonny's agenda.  We had such a great time with the new Mr and Mrs Clayton and got some stunning images for their wedding album.  A fabulous couple, so easy to work with and a joy to photograph.  Thank you so much for choosing us to share your wonderful day.  If you would like to feature the images from our blog on your Facebook page you are welcome to do so, keeping our details on them, and we look forward to sharing the complete image collection with you soon.

Oulton Hall Wedding Photographers | Sarah and David's Wedding

We're always excited about providing wedding photography at Oulton Hall and we were delighted when Sarah and David booked us to photograph their celebrations at this beautiful venue.  We knew it would be great fun as the couple don't take themselves too seriously and as expected, theirs was a day full of laughter and celebrations, just how a great wedding should be, with a very welcome bonus of perfect weather for most of it. Sarah had chosen a gorgeous Ronald Joyce gown and two pairs of shoes - a pair of glamorous, silver high heels for show and a pair of sparkly Converse trainers for comfort. After capturing some pretty detail shots for our bride, we tracked down David and his attendants for some portraits before the ceremony in the Oulton Suite and it was more a case of him keeping us entertained with his Geordie banter, warmth and good humour. This was a wedding packed with giggles, including a hilarious "Wey aye" moment during the ceremony!  The guests enjoyed a champagne reception in the grounds whilst we worked through the groups and naturally, it was really important to Sarah and David that we captured some images of them with their son, Asher, but kids being kids, he had other ideas and much more interesting things to be getting on with than standing still having his photograph taken.  Sometimes, as a professional Leeds wedding photographer, you have to employ different tactics to get the pictures you need and we got a lovely sequence of the three of them as they walked hand in hand.  With an eye on the time before the wedding breakfast we managed to get some bridal photographs at Oulton Hall's main entrance and David joined Sarah for a few romantic shots together. After the wedding breakfast and the speeches we worked together to create some fine art portraits on the gallery and the staircase.  The weather took a turn for the worse just as we decided to head outside again and enjoy the remaining daylight but the couple were absolute stars and went out anyway.  The evening kicked off with a chocolate fountain, and fancy dress for the kids, and Sarah and David enjoyed their first dance together.  We had a ball at this wedding!  A groom who made us laugh, a bride who was up for anything we suggested, lovely, friendly guests, good weather (mostly!) and a favourite venue of ours. Thank you Sarah and David, such a great couple, for choosing us as your Oulton Hall wedding photographers.

Chester Zoo Wedding Photographer | Lynsey and Stefan's Wedding

Lynsey and Stefan had been planning their wedding for a long time and they had booked us as their Chester Zoo wedding photographers almost two and a half years before their big day.  Although this was our first time photographing a wedding there, the couple had complete trust in us, we had some fantastic feedback from the staff, and we hope that we will get to work there again.  Chester Zoo is very special to the couple, as it's where Stef proposed to Lynsey.  The distance they had to travel each time meant that planning their wedding wasn't easy, but everything came together perfectly and they were both delighted that all the time and effort had paid off.  The plan was for a very informal day with afternoon tea on the terrace, a zoo safari, and a hog roast buffet and ice cream in the evening.  We always wish for great weather on a wedding day but it's hard to imagine a day when good weather would be more important and Lynsey and Stef struck lucky with a beautiful, warm and sunny day.  We started off with the wedding photography at the Mollington Bastre Hotel, Cheshire with Lynsey and the girls as they got ready, before we gatecrashed Stef and the boys as they got suited and booted.  A few portraits in the garden later and we set off to start the wedding photography at Chester Zoo.  Debbie, the wedding co-ordinator, couldn't have been more helpful, the staff couldn't have been more pleasant and the registers couldn't have been more accommodating.  So far, so good! The sun was blazing whilst we did the group photos and Lynsey ditched her stunning Irregular Choice shoes in favour of a pair of comfortable, white Converse trainers as soon as we'd finished them!  Her dad, Terry, and Stef's mum, Rita, were stars, helping us make the group photo session run smoothly and quickly, and it was lovely to see Gemma, Paul and Jasmine again, previous clients of ours and now friends.  The guests enjoyed their afternoon tea whilst we disappeared with Lynsey and Stef for a while.  We even got to ride in their wedding car - another first for us - before we headed back for speeches on the terrace and an early evening zoo safari.  We waited until the sun had gone down and the quality of light had improved for the couple's photographs at some locations we'd planned on using, including a beautiful circle of lavender and a bridge with a backdrop of spectacular colours. After the hog roast buffet, Lynsey and Stef were invited to cut their amazing and very unusual cake and dance their first dance together.  Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of photographing your lovely wedding, for working your socks off to help us get beautiful images for you and for your very flattering comments about us and our work.  And Gemma and Paul, you deserve a very special thank you too.
