Family Portrait Photography in West Yorkshire

Rebecca, Sam and Finley

We are looking forward very much to being the wedding photographers for Rebecca and Sam when they marry later this year in Ackworth, followed by a reception at Rogerthorpe Manor in Badsworth, near Pontefract.  Ahead of this, Rebecca and Sam decided that they would like a family portrait session in our studio, so they brought along their gorgeous baby son, Finley for some photographs together to celebrate his first birthday.

Grandma Kay came to provide some expert entertainment; not that Finley needed much entertaining as he's such a lovely, happy baby.  He will no doubt steal the show at his mum and dad's wedding in August!

Wedding photographers Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Rebecca and Simon's wedding at Scapegoat Hill baptist church and Crow Hill, Marsden on Saturday, 10 April 2010

We've had the pleasure of getting to know Becky during the months leading up to her wedding as she has visited our studio for two portrait sessions and she's an absolute joy to photograph.  We had been looking forward very much to her big day and it was our privilege to share the celebrations as she tied the knot with Simon.  As Huddersfield wedding photographers, it was nice to work at two new venues - Scapegoat Hill baptist church and Crow Hill, a lovely country house in Marsden.

Our first stop was at Becky's parents' house near Holmfirth for getting ready photographs and pictures of her gorgeous gown and accessories before driving the short distance to meet Simon and the guys who were already walking up the road to the church as we arrived.  They looked very smart in top hat and tails!

With few restrictions placed on us by a very accommodating and friendly vicar, Alex was able to capture some wonderful images as Becky and Simon exchanged their vows.  The church has no centre aisle but a balcony provided a great aerial viewpoint for Janet to get some superb pictures.  The church staff very kindly arranged for part of the inner roof which keeps the heat in to be taken off to allow the couple's ceremony to be photographed from above and it was definitely well worth it.  Our sincere thanks to them for making this happen.

Following the ceremony, a few photographs at the church and confetti at the gate, we set off to Crow Hill ahead of the couple and their guests so that we were ready and waiting for their arrival.  The sun shone all day long which meant that everyone was happy to stay outside enjoying champagne and canapes whilst we completed the group shots.

After the wedding breakfast and speeches, we were able to make the most of the longer daylight hours for a few photographs outside, followed by some romantic and artistic images in the bridal suit with its lovely chaise longue and our beautiful bride!

Our last job was to cover Becky and Simon's first dance in the marquee to Elbow's "One Day Like This."  The colours from the disco lights were just amazing - we love these dance shots.  Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Hammond and thank you for choosing us as your wedding photographers.

Please send us an email with your comments - thank you

Hazlewood Castle wedding photographers

Rachel and Simon's wedding at Hazlewood Castle on Sunday, 11 April 2010

Rachel and Simon married in an intimate civil ceremony in the Victoria room witnessed by a few close family and friends, followed by a blessing in St Leonard's chapel, beautifully conducted by the Rev Ian Walton.  We have to mention what a wonderful man Ian is and he always does everything he can to help ensure that we get the best possible photographs during the ceremony.  We really appreciate his kindness.

Rachel and Simon are a lovely, relaxed and easy going couple and they were a pleasure to work with.  They were more than happy to let us do our own thing regarding their photographs and having got the main group shots done, we spent some time with them around the grounds of Hazlewood Castle before it was time to go inside and photograph the Great Hall set up for the wedding breakfast.  After dinner, we headed outside again and one of the shots shows what happens when you invite firemen to your wedding!!

Thank you Mr and Mrs Hill for choosing us to capture your fun filled wedding day.  It was a pleasure to be invited to join you and your family and friends.

Family Portrait Photographer in West Yorkshire

Testimonial

We were very happy to receive this from Neil and Louise Harrison whose wedding we photographed in September 2006 at Rogerthorpe Manor, and who brought their beautiful baby son, Thomas, to meet us recently.  It was a pleasure to photograph Thomas on his own as well as all of them as a family.

"I just thought I'd drop you a quick line to tell you how delighted we are with the photo's and to say thank you for making us so welcome.  Once again, you have produced some amazing work that we will treasure forever.  We will definitely be in touch again in the not-too-distant future when the "little man" is able to charge around under his own steam!"

Thank you Neil and Louise - we look forward very much to seeing you all again.
