Waterton Park Hotel Wedding Photography | Lyndsey and Ashley

When we first met Lyndsey and Ashley they hadn't set a date for their wedding but we were really happy to hear from them later on with the news that they wanted us to be their Waterton Park Hotel wedding photographers.  We were over the moon that we were available on the date they chose and this lovely, generous couple really did make us very much a part of their celebrations.

A chilled out Lyndsey got ready at the venue and we took some photographs of the pretty bits and pieces that will make a lovely opening chapter of the couple's wedding album. Her only concern was whether Ashley had arrived.  Don't think that there was ever any doubt about that!  We kept Ashley and his brothers, Declan and Kyle, occupied posing for some photographs around the grounds on the island before we headed back to Lyndsey, who looked stunning in her princess dress.

As recommended wedding photographers for Waterton Park Hotel, we are always warmly welcomed by all the staff and the registrars and we enjoyed capturing some precious moments during the ceremony, from the front and from the back of the room, before Lyndsey and Ashley's wedding co-ordinator, Amy, congratulated the happy couple and presented them with champagne before everyone made their way across the bridge for groups photos and the drinks reception.

We are really lucky that such wonderful couples book us and Lyndsey and Ashley made it an absolute pleasure to photograph them.  It was windy and a bit on the chilly side but our bride said that she didn't care, as long as it wasn't raining.  Couldn't agree more Lyndsey! Euan, the couple's little boy, wasn't very impressed with the idea of being in the photographs but we knew how important it was to get some good shots of him.  Patience and waiting until later paid off and as is often the case, the best photos of kids come about when you get them playing and doing something that makes them laugh!

Although it hasn't yet felt much like summer, this time of year brings with it some big advantages, the main one being long daylight hours, and this meant some time after the wedding breakfast for relaxed and romantic photographs, taking in Waterton Park Hotel's beautiful backdrops.

A first dance in the Boathouse, a father and daughter dance, and some twilight shots from across the lake concluded Mr and Mrs Bowley's wedding photography at Walton Hall.  A perfect day with a fantastic couple, a fun bridal party, a spectacular wedding venue and a delicious wedding breakfast.  A huge thank you for allowing us to share your celebrations. Your album will be stunning!

Wedding Photography Holdsworth House | Donna and Chris

Donna and Chris booked us as their Holdsworth House wedding photographers, our third wedding in three days and our wettest!  Still, the weather is the one thing you can't do anything about and despite the rain, the couple enjoyed a fabulous day.

We love doing the wedding photography at Holdsworth House as the staff are great and very accommodating.  There is a sense that they really care about the couple, their wedding day and their photographs, not to mention that there are several beautiful spots for these within a very short distance of each other.

Donna got ready at the venue and in keeping with the traditional style for the wedding, she had chosen a stunning vintage style lace gown, complimented by a bouquet in ivory and yellow, which brought a touch of sunshine to this cloudy and damp day.  Our yellow umbrella complimented the colour scheme perfectly and later on we got some gorgeous images of the couple with their cars, outside Holdsworth House, in the rain.

This was our very first time as St Saviour's Church, Ravensthorpe wedding photographers and it was the church's first wedding for well over a year, which created a lot of interest from the locals, many of whom came to watch the ceremony.  After Chris's photographs with his attendants and close family we kept a watch for Donna's arrival with her dad.  Events conspired against the couple to make the ceremony start late but the wonderful vicar kept everyone's spirits high, gave us permission to take our time rather than rushing Donna and her dad into church, allowed us to capture the whole ceremony, and gave up his church to us for as long as we needed to get the family group photographs done before everyone ventured outside again.  We were incredibly grateful for his good humour, help and support and it was really nice to see him at Holdsworth House later on, enjoying the evening reception.

Although we had very much hoped for a break, there was no let up in the weather when we arrived at Holdsworth House and we thought we were almost out of time for pre-wedding breakfast photographs, but Chris's brother, Jonathan, being the brilliant best man he was, had rung ahead to let the venue staff know that things were running late and this is when you really notice how the staff handle things.  They had absolutely no problem with pushing the wedding breakfast back so that we could have some time with Donna and Chris before everyone was invited to sit for dinner.  Holdsworth House does have some pretty spots which also offer a little shelter from the rain and we got some lovely images of the couple. It was impossible to avoid Donna's dress getting a bit wet but our bride was a star and she never complained once!

The room looked spectacular dressed in its summery yellow, the guests enjoyed the wedding breakfast and we came back to capture the speeches.  By now we were on the last of the daylight, plus it was still raining, but the new Mr and Mrs Pearson decided that they would come outside again for a few more photographs before party time.  Thank you so much for booking us and for not allowing the rain to spoil your big day.

What a beautiful venue Holdsworth House is.  It really is a hidden gem!  If you are getting married there please call us on 01977 730159.

Wedding Photographer Monk Fryston Hall Hotel | Joanne and Robert

Joanne and Robert chose us as their Monk Fryston Hall Hotel wedding photographers where we are recommended suppliers.  The beautiful cherry tree in the grounds of this gorgeous venue was in full bloom and as the pink blossom only lasts a few days before it is battered by the wind, it was so nice to be able to use it as a lovely backdrop for some of the couple's photographs before it was gone for another year.

We had been looking forward to Joanne and Robert's wedding photography at Selby Abbey. You can't help but be wowed by this stunning building but there is always the question of whether you will be allowed to take photographs during the ceremony.  As it turned out we had a wonderful vicar and he had no problem with Alex capturing images from the front and Janet taking in the splendour of the abbey from the back, giving two views as the couple tied the knot and became Mr and Mrs Gale.

Confetti at the abbey gate was on our agenda but as most of the guests had left it behind at Monk Fryston Hall we made a change of plan to do these photographs straight after the big group shot of everyone.  Joanne's dad disappeared into the hotel to find his weapon of choice, a couple of confetti canons which were very loud but produced an impressive show of brightly colour paper and some great images.

When we arrived to photograph Joanne's dress, shoes, flowers and jewellery, she let us into a secret that she and Robert had hired a singing waiter.  He was introduced to the wedding guests as a new member of the Monk Fryston Hall staff and no one else had a clue who he was until he stole a lady's hat and burst into song.  He was fantastic, encouraging the delighted guests to sing along, dance, wave their napkins and then form a conga around the hotel.

Once the speeches were over we headed outside to enjoy the softer early evening light and spend some time taking some bride and groom portraits, making the most of the picturesque backdrops the venue has to offer.  Afterwards, the singing waiter entertained the guests again and the couple danced their first dance together as husband and wife

Congratulations Joanne and Robert and thank you for booking us to capture your special day.

If you were a guest at this wedding you are more than welcome to leave a message. Please share the images with your family and friends with the logo on them and if you are interested in booking us as your Monk Fryston Hall or Selby Abbey wedding photographers, we would love to hear from you.  Call us now on 01977 730159.
