Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel Wedding Photography | Louise and Adam's Wedding

What can we say about Louise and Adam?  Such a warm, friendly and appreciative couple who we immediately hit it off with at our very first meeting.  It was wonderful to be their Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers and be part of a great day surrounded by their lovely family and friends.  They chose a Thursday to tie the knot and Thursdays have been pretty popular for weddings this season.  They struck gold with the weather, enjoying what any bride and groom would consider the perfect warm and sunny day.  With everything at one venue, we started with Louise's preps upstairs and as theirs was the only wedding that day, we had the luxury of the place to ourselves and the freedom to go anywhere around the grounds, resulting in some beautiful Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographs.  It's obvious how loved these two are, with their parents pulling out all the stops to give them the wedding of their dreams, and with several surprises thrown in, such as a classic car, hired to transport Adam to Rogerthorpe Manor, an LED dance floor, and a sparkle backdrop behind the top table, which makes a huge difference to the look of the speech photographs.  Time was short for the photos after the ceremony so we worked fast through the groups and got some images of the Cawthorne Suite dressed for the wedding breakfast, leaving the majority of the couple and bridal portraits until later.  After dinner the light had softened from the harsh sunshine of earlier and everything worked in our favour to get some stunning photographs of Louise and Adam together and of beautiful Louise in that fabulous dress.  The couple have chosen our top of the range album and this calls for some artistic, stand alone images, as well as sequences which tell the story of their special day. Their patience and their willingness to spend time with us whilst we created the photographs that are our signature style means that it's been hard to narrow them down to a few of our favourites to feature on our blog.  We hope you love these and we look forward to seeing you soon. Huge congratulations Mr and Mrs Hodgson!

Oulton Hall Wedding Photography | Laura and Lee's Wedding

It's always a pleasure to be Oulton Hall wedding photographers and we had really been looking forward to capturing Laura and Lee's celebrations as they are such a lovely couple. Our first stop was at Oulton Hall, arriving a few minutes ahead of our scheduled time to be with Laura for her preparations, allowing us to photograph this beautiful building, an image which sets the scene for the wedding and which will be the opening page in the couple's top of the range wedding album.  Once we'd got some make-up shots and all the girly stuff had been photographed, including our bride's fabulous princess style dress and a pair of white Converse with pink ribbon and lots of bling, we left to start the Holy Trinity Church, Rothwell wedding photography and catch up with Lee and his attendants for their portraits before Laura's arrival.  It was good to work alongside Ryan Mulhern of Mulhern Media, and his assistant Chris, and to have Sheena, the vicar, conducting the ceremony. Having worked with her on several occasions, she trusts us not to be intrusive and she allowed us to photograph from two different perspectives as Laura and Lee made their vows and exchanged rings.  We had time to spare at the church and it made sense to use it wisely and get the group photos completed before the couple made their way down the path into an avalanche of confetti.  A great bride and groom who were an absolute pleasure to spend time with, a stunning location, a fun bridal party, friendly guests, elegant classic cars, a gorgeous colour scheme of ivory and pink, one of the most spectacular cakes we've ever seen, and lots of lovely details made this wedding a privilege to be part of, with the bonus of some beautiful twilight photos of the new Mr and Mrs Jones to round off their amazing day.  Thank you so much guys for booking us for your Oulton Hall wedding photography.  We are so pleased that the wet stuff stayed well away and we look forward to seeing you soon so that we can share all your images with you.

Temple Newsam House Wedding Photographer | Laura and Chris's Wedding

Laura and Chris tied the knot on the last Saturday in August and chose us for their Temple Newsam wedding photography.  We began our coverage of their day with some wedding photography at Thorpe Park Hotel where Laura got ready with her bridesmaids.  Laura really wanted us to capture her dad's reaction as he came into the room and saw her in her stunning dress for the first time and we just managed it before we had to make a mad dash to the car and drive to Temple Newsam House to meet Chris.  As it had been quite a while since we'd had the pleasure of being wedding photographers at Temple Newsam we'd done a recce of the venue a few weeks beforehand to check out the best locations to feature in Laura and Chris's photographs.  The main house is a lovely building and the front entrance and the staircase are particularly beautiful, lending themselves perfectly to our artistic style and our love of spectacular architecture.  Stately homes have gorgeous locations but because they are open to the public, the time allowed for photographs is often quite short so careful planning is needed to make the most of the photo opportunities and it involved whisking Laura and Chris off for a few minutes after their civil ceremony and working quickly together to get some photographs on the staircase and at the front before we rejoined their guests and made a start on the formal group photos. Once these were done everyone left the main house and we started the wedding photography in the walled garden at Temple Newsam where a marquee was set up for the buffet style wedding breakfast featuring a hog roast.  Laura and Chris's wedding day coincided with the rugby league Challenge Cup final and as there were many Leeds Rhinos fans amongst the guests, this meant only one thing, nobody was moving away from the telly for at least two hours!  And up until then and including those two hours the weather was great and then once the match was over the heavens opened and it bucketed down!  We'd planned for some romantic photos down by the lake and as the light was starting to fade we knew it was now or never regardless of the weather, so out came the brollies and the new Mr and Mrs Reed got tucked under one. When we got to the lakeside it had just stopped raining and with perfect timing the soft evening sun came out, we breathed a sigh of relief and we got some gorgeous images. Thank you very much for allowing us to share your special day.  We look forward to seeing you but in the meantime, here are a few of our favourite images from your wedding.  All images are protected by copyright Alex & Janet Durasow 2015 which means that you are welcome to share but our details must be kept on the images.  Thank you.
