Wedding Photographer King's Croft | Danielle and Jamie's Wedding

It's not that often we get to be King's Croft wedding photographers even though the venue is local to us, but it was great to be booked to capture the fun and relaxed celebrations of Danielle and Jamie's wedding day. It's weddings such as theirs that remind us why we love our job so much and it was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with this wonderful couple who don't take themselves too seriously and for whom the day was about being surrounded by family and friends and everyone having the best time. We caught up with Danielle at her family home for the getting ready part, where we were made really welcome.  It always makes us happy when the make-up and hair styling are finished in good time and the bride is in her dress well before we have to leave to start round two, the lads' photos at the venue.  It meant Danielle got pictures having her dress fastened, her proud dad's reactions on seeing her as a bride for the first time, and a few family photos in the garden with her parents, brother and sister.  Jamie's King's Croft wedding photography was a laugh a minute, mainly due to best man, Andy, who kept us in stitches. He carried on his antics during the wait for Danielle's arrival, when emotion got the better of Jamie.  It was a beautiful civil ceremony, made really special because it included a song that means a lot to the couple, and it was obvious just how devoted they are to each other. The weather behaved itself, allowing everyone to stay outside for photos and after the groups were in the bag we enjoyed some time with the new Mr and Mrs Fearn when we got them to ourselves for a few minutes before everyone was called for afternoon tea. Their portrait session was just gorgeous because they never stopped smiling and needed no encouragement to be romantic. Perfect!  After the speeches, the bridal party came out for some fun shots and the fun and energy continued into the evening with a ceilidh band.  It was our pleasure to share the day with such genuinely lovely, friendly people, and both Danielle and Jamie's parents should be very proud. Congratulations to the happy couple and thank you to Danielle's dad for finding and choosing us to capture his daughter's big day.

Wedding Photos at Waterton Park | Caroline and Michael's Wedding

Summer now gives way to autumn and we are really enjoying capturing those spectacular colours, which made a gorgeous backdrop for Caroline and Michael's wedding photography at Waterton Park Hotel, where we are recommended photographers.  We had an early start with Caroline's preps in Walton Hall, but an early ceremony meant daylight after the wedding breakfast and a chance for the couple to relax, slow things down and enjoy having their photographs taken against the beautiful backdrops this venue has to offer.  The weather wasn't on our side in the morning but Michael and his best man were up for a laugh, taking the rain in their stride.  In fact, Michael said he didn't care about getting wet because he's used to working outside but we had a feeling Caroline might not be too thrilled to be faced in the ceremony by a soggy groom!  Right on cue, the rain stopped just before our bride came outside to walk over the bridge and although we had to contend with it being blustery, this is better than the wet stuff.  The couple had put a lot of thought into the details for their wedding, including such lovely bridesmaid's dresses, to Caroline shoes which she had designed herself.  She looked amazing in her elegant dress and lace bolero. After the ceremony, and a volley of confetti beside the lake, all the guests got together for the drinks reception on the island and the weather behaved better, allowing everyone to stay outside for the group photos and enjoy this fabulous location, made all the more breathtaking by the autumn colours.  We had plenty of daylight after dinner to photograph the new Mr and Mrs Slater together and Michael had this idea about picking Caroline up. There are certain things we never suggest for wedding photos, this being one of them, because it's likely to be met with a retort along the lines of "No chance, he'll drop me!" but we absolutely love the resulting fun images.  We also loved featuring the fiery colours in the couple's photographs, and we know Michael's mum loves autumn - the best time of year, she said - so we hope she loves the Walton Hall wedding photographs as much as we do.  Congratulations to a wonderful couple and thanks a million for letting us share your special day.

Wedding Photography at Denton Hall | Leanne & Adam's Wedding

We remember meeting Leanne and Adam for the first time at a wedding fayre at Oulton Hall when they hadn't yet settled on a venue or finalised a date, but they kept our details and got in touch some time later to ask us if we would like to be their Denton Hall wedding photographers.  Too right we would!  Couples often say they feel safer booking a wedding photographer who is familiar with their venue but Leanne and Adam weren't at all concerned that we hadn't worked there before.  As always when we have a wedding coming up at a new venue, we visited it with them a few weeks before the big day to check out some great locations for photographs and familiarise ourselves.  On the wedding day we had all weathers thrown at us, from blinding sunshine to driving rain to blowing a gale, and often more than one of these at the same time!  It was a challenge made easier by the relaxed attitude of the couple and thankfully, Leanne and Adam took it all in their stride and even though we had to adapt and shower dodge, we had a brilliant day with them.  Brooke, the wedding co-ordinator, was very hands on when it came to looking after everyone and she arranged to have the ceremony room cleared of chairs so that we could photograph the family groups inside. The rain stopped, thankfully, but it was still very windy, so we used some areas for Denton Hall wedding photographs which offered a degree of shelter for the couple.  After dinner the threat of rain had passed and it was a good time to get some images using the features of this lovely venue, including the attractive frontage and doorway.  You can't fail to be impressed by Denton Hall's  magnificent staircase and some photographs on it were a must have before it was time for the couple to cut their wedding cake and do their first dance together.  As often happens on blustery days, the wind very kindly faded away during the evening, allowing for some twilight photos without Leanne's hair and dress being blown all over the place!  We wish you every happiness in your marriage guys and our sincere thanks for booking us.  Thanks also to Brooke for being a star on the day.  We hope to be wedding photographers at Denton Hall again in the not too distant future.
