Boudoir Photography West Yorkshire | Steph's Boudoir Photo Session

Steph wanted to give her boyfriend a very special surprise gift so she booked a boudoir photo session with us.  Having been shopping, she arrived with a bag full of beautiful underwear and we worked through quite a few different ideas for photographs.  Steph wasn't really sure what she wanted but after viewing her images, decided on one of our stunning boudoir books which are fantastic to showcase a wide range of photographs and can be personalised with any text you choose.

These are few of our favourite images from Steph's boudoir session and as professional boudoir photographers in West Yorkshire, we think she looks amazing!

To book your boudoir photography session in our Castleford studio, please give Janet a call on 01977 730159.

New Baby Photographer West Yorkshire | Chloe's Newborn Photographs

Chloe's proud dad rang us to arrange to have some baby photographs in Castleford taken of his two week old daughter.  As professional new baby photographers in West Yorkshire, we recommend that in order to capture forever that brand new baby look which disappears so quickly, newborn portraits should be taken as soon as possible.  However, Chloe arrived six weeks early so her baby portrait session actually took place a month before she should have even been here.  A beautiful baby, she slept most of the time, allowing us to "pose" her little hands and feet and get some gorgeous images.  She even stayed asleep whilst we photographed her with mum and dad, Sarah and Scott.  Mums often say they don't want to be photographed this soon after having a baby and this is understandable but we think it's lovely to have some family photographs with the new arrival as these will be treasured so much when your baby is grown up.

To book a newborn or a family portrait session, please call Janet on 01977 730159.

Hazlewood Castle Wedding Photographer | Louise & Andy's Wedding Photography Leeds

As professional Leeds wedding photographers, Louise and Andy's wedding was one of those which reminds us of all the reasons why we love our job so much and Louise's smile which greeted us as soon as we arrived at her parents' house was the first of those reasons.  Her beautiful smile never left her face all day long, plus her mum and dad made us very welcome and fed us breakfast of scones, Danish pastries and croissants - delicious!

When we arrived at All Saints' Church in Barwick in Elmet, Andy was just arriving too, meaning that we could crack on with a few photographs of him whilst we waited for a couple of the guys to arrive.  Louise's bridesmaids soon followed so we had an opportunity to capture some portraits of them together before our bride arrived with her dad, just as it started to rain.  Thankfully, it didn't develop into more than a short drizzle.

It was great to work alongside Alan Macmillan from Macmillan Films.  We really enjoy working with him and we know what a brilliant job he does for his clients.  We also know that Louise and Andy will have a wonderful DVD of their fabulous wedding day to look forward to.

A quick peek outside at the end of the ceremony confirmed what we'd hoped for - it wasn't raining.  Louise and Andy greeted their guests as everyone exited the church, we had a few minutes for photographs, everyone congratulated and threw confetti at the happy couple and we left for the wedding reception at Hazlewood Castle.

We knew from the beginning that Louise and Andy would be a brilliant to work with and they were very enthusiastic about having some fun and about trying out some different ideas for photographs.  After the group photo session was finished and with a few couple shots in the can, the bridal party met us for some fun photos and the sun came out.  Just what Louise had been hoping for!

As Hazlewood Castle wedding photographers, we knew the Great Hall would look spectacular all set up for the wedding breakfast and so we set aside a few minutes to photograph it, along with all the little details, so that Louise and Andy have a record of how beautiful the room looked dressed in cornflower blue with touches of pink.  The speeches before dinner were very entertaining and Guy, the best man's, was hilarious.

Our favourite time at a wedding has to be when we can spend some time with the couple, go away with them for a while, usually after the wedding breakfast, and create some gorgeous artistic and romantic images. All we need is time and a bride and groom who are as enthusiastic about their wedding photographs as we are.  Louise and Andy gave us plenty of both.  Perfect!

Our sincere thanks and best wishes to the new Mr and Mrs Flynn for choosing us to capture their amazing wedding day, for giving us the time to create some images for them which we are really proud of and for smiling all day long.  We hope you're having a fabulous honeymoon!

Baby Photography Castleford | Ellie's Toddler Photographs

Ellie's mum, Emma, had been given a portrait session gift voucher by her friends for a special birthday and it was great to get a date in the diary for Ellie's toddler portrait session in Castleford.

As professional Yorkshire baby photographers, we knew that at fourteen months' old, Ellie would probably be running round the studio as once babies become toddlers and find their feet, it's a huge challenge keeping them in one place for more than a nano second.  Despite having a cold, Ellie was a live wire and as expected, explored the studio, sat on the floor in all the wrong places whilst smiling beautifully and exploited the entertainment designed to keep her in the right place to the full.  Not only did we work hard, her parents did too!

Apart from one or two quiet moments, Ellie was full of beans so a variety of toys were used to keep her entertained, including our big studio teddy, who took a serious pasting!

To buy a portrait session gift voucher for a family member or a friend, please call us on 01977 730159.  Vouchers are available for any value from £35 upwards.

Baby Photographer Wakefield | Isabell's Baby Portraits

We were Wentbridge House House wedding photographers for Isabell's parents, Becky and Craig, and a baby portrait was something that they, as well as Isabell's grandparents, had been keen to have for quite a while.  It was lovely to see Becky, her mum and Isabell when they came to the studio recently.

Two different styles of professional baby photography were discussed with Becky beforehand.  As baby photographers in Castleford, we are often asked for modern, high key photographs on a white background and these are really contemporary and ideal when brightly coloured clothes are worn.  Becky had brought a lovely red dress for Isabell to wear.  She was content to play with her stacker tubs for a while but then she got bored, as babies often do, and decided that crawling all over the place was much more interesting!  We honestly thought that we were at the end of the portrait session but for the last few shots we decided to use our striking red chair as it was the perfect match for Isabell's dress and looked amazing against the white background.

As traditional baby photographers in Wakefield, and as Isabell's christening is coming up soon, it was nice to get back to a classical style of portraiture for a while.  This style takes a lot of skill and patience but the results are so worthwhile and it seems that traditional photography is becoming popular again. We knew that these images would look lovely in a sepia tone.  The backdrop used on the photographs came from America and cost us an excess baggage charge!  Was it worth it?  Of course it was.

Wedding Photographer Hatfeild Hall | Helen & Martin's Wedding Photography Wakefield

It's been a long winter and we were very happy to kick off our 2012 wedding season which started with Helen and Martin's wedding in early March.

As wedding photographers in Wakefield, Alex had been exhibiting at a local wedding fair and it was here that he met Helen and her mum.

The couple had some unusual and quirky ideas mixed in with their traditional wedding. Or rather, their wedding at St Peter's Church Centre in Stanley, near Wakefield.  The problem with St Peter's church is that, well, it's literally falling down which is such a shame as it's a very picturesque and beautiful church.  However, the family have been using the church centre for a long time and Helen's mum, Dawn got married there so the church centre means a lot to the family.

After the ceremony, a few shots at the church and confetti throwing, we moved off having decided to take most of the wedding photographs at Hatfeild Hall where we met up with Helen and Martin as soon as they arrived to take some photographs of the new Mr and Mrs Walker, featuring their lovely blue Bentley.

It was a very windy day and as Helen was wearing a gorgeous full length veil, shelter was called for, so after the big group shot on the lawn, we moved the short distance to the front of the hall which improved things for everyone, in particular our bride.

We'd heard about the cake the couple had chosen and it was pretty impressive!  A Disc World cake inspired by the novels of the same name.  The problem was, Helen didn't have the heart to cut into the turtle!!!!  With the speeches before dinner which is always a good idea for a nervous groom, we left everyone to enjoy the wedding breakfast.

After dinner was over and with the light fading, we suggested to Helen and Martin that we get a few photographs of the two of them together before they went back inside to join their guests, take their first dance as husband and wife and party.

Thank you to both of you for choosing us and for being our first wedding couple of 2012.

Baby Photography West Yorkshire | Holly's Newborn Photographs

When Holly's mum was expecting her, we'd chatted about a newborn photo session to be done when her baby was just a few days old.  However, as professional baby photographers in Castleford we are well aware that babies don't always arrive when they're expected and a couple of weeks either side of their due date is not uncommon. Holly decided that she'd arrive early.  A whole nine weeks early!  This meant that the planned new baby photographs had to be abandoned until she was out of hospital and big enough.  In fact, the day she came in for her baby portraits was pretty much the date she was due to be born.

This is beautiful, tiny, perfect Holly at two months old and as there is a strong trend at the moment for all things vintage, we thought we'd try a vintage style finish on our favourite image.
