Engagement Portrait Photographer West Yorkshire

Laura and Alan

Laura and Alan will tie the knot in February at the Bridge Inn in Walshford near Wetherby and we met up with them today to discuss their wedding photography and their plans for their big day. Afterwards, we braved the cold to take some photographs of them together around their venue. This session helped them relax and feel more confident in front of the camera. We are really looking forward to working with them on their wedding day.

Carole, Dan and Scarlett

Carole and Dan recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary and we were their wedding photographers when they tied the knot at Hazlewood Castle on 7 December 2008. Today they came for a portrait session, bringing along their beautiful baby Scarlett, and what a stunner she is! Scarlett is one of the most cheerful babies we've ever met! Carole and Dan were a fabulous couple to work with when we photographed their wedding and seeing them again today was like meeting up with old friends. Thank you for travelling all the way up from London for your portrait session. It was so lovely to see you again.

Baby Portrait Photographers in Yorkshire

Olivia

We were delighted to see Dawn and Neil again - this time with their gorgeous baby daughter, Olivia. They decided to bring along Olivia's grandma as apparently Olivia thinks she's very funny and she would find it easy to get Olivia to smile! However, we didn't need anyone to make Olivia smile, as she obliged anyway. A great session with a beautiful little girl - she was a pleasure to photograph!

Helen and David's wedding at Sprotbrough Church and Hazlewood Castle

Today we photographed our last wedding of the 2009 season for Helen and David at the picturesque church of St Mary's in Sprotbrough. We started the day at Helen's parents' house just a short journey from the church to capture some shots as Helen got ready for the ceremony with her bridesmaids, Lucinda and Gemma, who were great and really took care of Helen. Our next stop was at the church, where we met up with David and his attendants for their photographs. Thankfully, the predicted heavy rain didn't make an appearance - in fact, for December, the weather was pretty good and it meant that we could take the majority of the photographs outside. With no photography allowed by the vicar during the ceremony, we had previously arranged that we'd take Helen and David back inside afterwards so that they could have a few photographs inside the church. With the group photographs of the couple and their parents taken care of, we left for the reception at Hazlewood Castle where we made the most of the fading daylight for photographs around the venue. Our last shots were of the Great Hall dressed up ready for the wedding breakfast and photographs of Helen and David cutting the cake. With an unusually early finish to our coverage, we said goodbye to our lovely couple and to our 2009 wedding season. Thank you for choosing us to share your special day.

Adele and David's wedding at Hazlewood Castle on 28 November 2009

This morning we were greeted with miserable weather - heavy rain and the kind of dismal sky that tells you that the rain isn't going to stop any time soon! We'd resigned ourselves to taking most of the photographs indoors but arriving at Hazlewood Castle for Adele's preparations, the rain had stopped - perfect timing! After spending an enjoyable hour or so with Adele as she got ready, we headed off across the courtyard to meet David, who by now was sporting his fabulous Gordon tartan kilt. He and his attendants looked fantastic and we had great fun with them during their photography session, before going back to our stunning bride and her proud dad, Mike, a few minutes before the ceremony in the lovely St Leonard's chapel. In true Scottish fashion, Adele was "piped" into the ceremony, which was conducted by Matthew who had been specially invited by the couple to do the honours. Afterwards, with the group shots in the bag and lots of laughter between us, Adele and David and their fantastic families, we were left with the remaining daylight and our great couple for some romantic photographs of them together around their fabulous venue. Adele and David were brilliant to work with and although was cold, we were all so grateful that it stayed dry so that we could make the most of the backdrops of Hazlewood for their photographs. After the speeches, the wedding breakfast and some stunning night shots in the courtyard, Adele and David hit the dance floor to "Together in Electric Dreams." Thank you to you both for asking us to share you big day and also for the call which Adele made to us on Monday morning when she surely had better things to do! Adele - that call meant the world to us - thank you so much. We hope you are having a fabulous honeymoon in New Zealand and we look forward to hearing from you when you return home for Christmas.

Contemporary Portrait Photographers in Yorkshire

Nathalie and John

We recently had the pleasure of working with Nathalie and John again after photographing their wedding earlier this year. The session was so enjoyable and the couple were really enthusiastic about it and about working with us to create some stunning, contemporary images for them. It was fantastic to be able to play around with lots of ideas for poses and the time flew by! Nathalie and John were brilliant subjects with great expressions and we are delighted with the results.

Mia, Oliver and Lyla

A busy pre-Christmas portrait season continued with a photo session for Oliver and sisters Mia and Lyla. The challenge was to get a photograph of all three children together for their grandparents for Christmas. The family were fantastic to work with and we had lots of laughs trying to pursuade Oliver to stay in the group shots long enough to capture him with his cousins.

Sarah, Danny, Chelsea and Lewis

We are really enjoying taking photographs of our existing clients and many new ones too so that they can present the images to their families for Christmas and we are being kept very busy in the run up to Christmas as people realise what a fantastic and personal gift a beautiful framed print will make for someone they love. Today we welcomed Sarah and Danny with their children Chelsea and Lewis. Sarah and Danny wanted the children photographed together as a Christmas gift for their grandparents and we got some great shots of Chelsea and Lewis together as well as some individual ones. We think their grandparents will be delighted! In addition, mum and dad had a couple of shots taken together too. We really like this one - what do you think, Sarah and Dan?

Carlton Towers Wedding Photographer

Lindsay and Iain's wedding at Carlton Towers on 7 November 2009

Lindsay and Iain married in a civil ceremony at the breathtaking location of Carlton Towers near Snaith on a bright and sunny November day. We met Lindsay and her bridesmaids as they prepared for the ceremony and we took photographs of Lindsay's stunning Pronovias lace gown and beautiful accessories before leaving her to meet Iain and his attendants. A familiar, friendly face and a wonderful warm welcome came from Rosalyn, the registrar, who we know very well from working around the Pontefract area but who had the privilege of conducting the marriage ceremony for Lindsay and Iain at their special request, as she and her family are very close to the couple. She made the ceremony so personal and it was fantastic for us too, as we were allowed to capture some lovely moments for Linday and Iain to treasure. Thank you Rosalyn - it's always such a pleasure to work with you! Following the ceremony, it was outside for the group photographs, couple shots and confetti and the sun continued to shine. We were back inside a few minutes before the start of the wedding breakfast to capture images of the fabulous room all dressed in it's spectacular red and white colour scheme. The weather took a turn for the worst during dinner, so after the speeches we spent some time up on the gallery taking photographs of Lindsay and Iain before they took to the floor for their first dance to Lovely Day by Bill Withers. The finale to the couple's amazing day was a firework display and as it was still raining, they sheltered under a white umbrella to watch them. Thank you Lindsay and Iain for inviting us to share your special day at your gorgeous venue.

West Yorkshire Family Portrait Photographers

Nicola, Anthony and Jack

We were the photographers when Nicola and Anthony tied the knot and it was lovely to see them again. This time it was with their new addition to the family - Jack Hayden. He's thirteen weeks old and an absolute belter! Dressed in his trendy jeans and T shirt, he was full of smiles and was a joy to photograph. We had a great time and got some fabulous images which we hope the couple and their families will love.

Baby Photographer in West Yorkshire

Alfie

Emma and Chris married almost a year ago and we were the photographers for their big day. Today we welcomed them to our studio with their beautiful five week old baby son, Alfie. Now Alfie has the most amazing eyes! He is the image of his proud dad. The session took quite a while because Alfie didn't think much to being photographed, voiced his opinion very loudly, then decided that a supper break was what he really needed! Mum Emma duly obliged and everyone else enjoyed a coffee break while Alfie enjoyed a leisurely supper! Patience is essential when photographing babies and it certainly paid off here, as we are rewarded with some gorgeous images later on when Alfie decided he'd had enough of crying, relaxed in his dad's outstretched arms (we know they were aching Chris!) and just stared straight into the camera with those gorgeous eyes.

Lucie

We were delighted to welcome Vicky and Aran and their new addition and bundle of joy - seven week old Lucie. We were the wedding photographers for Vicky and Aran at the King's Croft in Pontefract and it was a privilege to share their special day. It's even more special when couples come back to us to take photographs of the most precious thing in the lives - their new baby. Lucie is gorgeous! We spent some time taking photographs of everyone together before Lucie decided it was time for a lunch break! We thought she might have fallen asleep afterwards so that we could get some cute pictures of her on her own with no wriggles, but she wasn't having any of it! Thank you Vicky and Aran for coming back to us and allowing us to take some images for you to treasure.

Nik, Vicki, Sophie and Jake

We had a very enjoyable time today at the Theatre Royal Wakefield in the company of young actors Nik, Vicki, Sophie and Jake, taking some headshots for each of them. The theatre is actively supporting and encouraging young talent and they asked us to come along and take a variety of shots so that these very talented young people will have some professionally taken photographs as a start to their portfolios. They were all great to work with and we were delighted with the results we got. Hope you like the shots guys!

Yorkshire Family Portrait Photographer

Today we made a round trip of 123 miles to Litton in the Yorkshire Dales for a family portrait session for 17 lovely people. It was a very long way to travel for a portrait sesssion but Kate hired us quite a while ago to do this, as a special gift for her parents' ruby wedding anniversary. The family hired a cottage in this spectacular location for a week and they thought that as they don't all get together very often, being spread all over the country from Wales to Southampton to Yorkshire, it would be great to take the opportunity to have some photographs taken together. We were privileged that Kate chose us to do this and we'd arranged to work outside if the weather was kind, which is wasn't! Driving along the winding roads through a mixture of drizzle and fog, it wasn't looking good for photographs outside but we kept our fingers crossed for a break in the weather. By the time we arrived at the cottage, it was still very wet underfoot but it had at least stopped raining and we really wanted to make the most of the beautiful backdrop outside. Everyone was brilliant, adults and children alike and got their coats, boots and wellies on to trudge through the wet grass to the spot we'd chosen. After taking some big family group shots of everyone, we took the smaller groups which the family had requested before heading back to the cottage for coffee and the most delicious homemade cake! Thank you for making us very welcome. We really enjoyed your company. It was well worth the long journey and the wet feet! We hope you enjoyed it too.

West Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

We were delighted to receive this today from Caroline Mason's mum, Enid. We were privileged to be chosen to share Caroline and Gary's special day in May when they married at Hunslet Methodist church in Leeds, followed by a reception at Rogerthorpe Manor in Badsworth. They chose a storybook album and Caroline's mum bought a smaller copy for herself. Enid's comments sum up perfectly what we are about and how important our clients are to us.

"I have had to send this message to let you know just how much we love the finished album of pictures from Caroline and Gary's wedding. It is beautiful!! The happy atmosphere of the whole day is captured from start to finish. Every time you look at it you notice details that you haven't noticed before. I am so pleased that we ordered the smaller version and will enjoy the day many times over as we proudly show it to everyone. Memories are so important to us all and these albums will keep Caroline and Gary's wedding fresh in our memories always. Thank you so much for your hard work and the care you have taken. It is much appreciated. Best wishes to you both." ENID HARDING

Woolley Hall Wedding Photographers

Nicola and Darren's wedding at Woolley Hall, Wakefield on 17 October 2009

The lovely autumn sunshine continued for the wedding of Nicola and Darren at the beautiful setting of Woolley Hall. We arrived at the couple's house for Nicola's preparations and we knew from what Nicola had told us that her dress was going to be something very special and it certainly was - a stunning Spanish design with an amazing ruffled skirt. On arrival at Woolley Hall with it's frontage covered in spectacular red foliage, we were greeted by a chimney sweep who had been hired by Nicola's sister, Diane, as a surprise for the couple. We spent some time with Darren, his sons Joshua and Cameron and best man, Stuart (who was so helpful to us and kept everything running smoothly - thank you Stuart), taking some relaxed photographs around the grounds before Nicola arrived by horse drawn carriage accompanied by her friend Suzanne, son Tom and daughter Eli, whose privilege it was to give her mum away. The ceremony was full of emotion because Nicola and Darren had been teenage sweethearts who then went their separate ways only to be reunited years later and there were lots of jokes that it had taken them twenty-five years to tie the knot! The brief for the day was for only a few group photographs and the rest to be informal and fun but Darren did admit that he had really enjoyed the relaxed posing! With the after dinner speeches covered and the daylight gone, we finished the photographs inside Woolley Hall with our lovely couple on the staircase. The first dance to "Reunited" was very romantic and very appropriate. Thank you Nicola and Darren for letting us share this very special day with you. We were delighted to be your wedding photographers and we wish you a fantastic honeymoon in Mexico!

Sarah and Paul's wedding at the Hotel St Pierre, Newmillerdam, Wakefield on 10 October 2009

Today we were the wedding photographers for Sarah and Paul. This special day started with a warm welcome from Sarah's mum and dad, Rita and Graham, when we arrived at their house for Sarah's preparations. The weather was warm too - a lovely autumn day! Whilst we were taking photographs of Sarah's gorgeous white dress which had the most beautiful silver embroidery and her accessories including a very important Leeds United garter, Sarah arrived relaxed and calm from the hairdressers and helped her bridesmaids get ready (thought it was supposed to be the other way round!) Before leaving, we got some shots as Rita and chief bridesmaid, Alison struggled to fasten Sarah's dress and it was also nice to be able to take some portraits of our lovely bride ready. We then left for the Hotel St Pierre in Newmillerdam to meet Paul and his attendants for their photographs. A white garage door as a background for a portrait of Paul complimented the elegant black, white and silver colour scheme which the couple had chosen. After a chat with the very kind and accommodating registrar, we knew we'd have no problem getting Sarah and Paul some images to treasure from their marriage ceremony. She told us that we should just do the very best we could for the couple - our sincere thanks to her on behalf of Sarah and Paul because this is what our fantastic job is all about. After the ceremony, we left the guests for a while to go to the lakeside in Newmillerdam for photographs of the couple together. The location we chose makes such a nice backdrop for the pictures and is the same one we used for Sarah and Paul's engagement session a few weeks ago, from which they chose a photograph to display at the wedding with a signature mount for their guests to sign. Thankfully, the weather was much kinder on their wedding day! Arriving back at the hotel, we got all the guests involved in a big group shot, followed by confetti throwing and then some fun shots with the couple, chief bridesmaid and best man, before completing the family groups. After dinner and speeches, we spent some time with Sarah and Paul in their bridal suite taking some special, romantic images for them. A fabulous day in the company of a fabulous couple ended for us after their first dance. Thank you for choosing us to share your very special day. It was a privilege to join you and your lovely families.
