Wakefield Wedding Photographer

Sarah and Richard's wedding at All Saints' Church, Crofton and the Brooklands Hotel, Barnsley on 22 August 2009

Today we had the privileged of being the wedding photographers as Sarah and Richard tied the knot at All Saints' church in Crofton on a glorious sunny day. Sarah, in her fabulous princess dress and looking absolutely amazing, was driven to church by her dad, Stephen, arriving fashionably late and making Richard just a little anxious! The beautiful ceremony was conducted by the lovely Hazel, who was more than accommodating when it came to the photographs - stating that "this is the couple's day." Thank you so much, Hazel, for allowing us to capture some special moments for Sarah and Richard to treasure. After confetti throwing at the church gate, it was off to The Brooklands Hotel in Dodworth near Barnsley for the reception where we got the group shots in the bag before everyone went in to enjoy the wedding breakfast and speeches. Afterwards, Sarah and Richard and their attendants joined us for some fun shots, followed by romantic photographs of the couple together. Sarah and Richard - thank you so much for allowing us to join you and your lovely families on your big day and for giving us the opportunity to create some very special images for you.

Allerton Castle Wedding Photographer

Claire and Paul

Claire and Paul are marrying at Allerton Castle near Knaresborough later this month and it was a pleasure to meet up with them at their stunning wedding venue for a relaxed and informal engagement portrait session. From this session, Claire and Paul will choose their favourite image which will be framed with a signature mount which their guests will sign on the wedding day. This will be a very personal memento for the couple to treasure. We look forward very much to sharing Claire and Paul's special day at the end of August.

Rachel and Matthew's wedding at St Mary's church, Swillington and Chevin Country Park Hotel - 8 August 2009

Today we were delighted to share Rachel and Matt's special day which began at Rachel's parents' house where everything was unusually quiet for the morning of a wedding. We were greeted by Rachel's dad who had been left in charge whilst the girls were at the hairdressers. We were just finishing off the photographs of Rachel's accessories when the girls arrived back ready for make-up and getting dressed. It was important to Rachel to have some "ready" photographs before we had to leave for the church and it was a pleasure for us to be able to oblige. Next it was on to Swillington church where we met up with Matt and his brothers, Darren and David for the guy shots. Rachel arrived looking absolutely stunning and following a lovely ceremony, congratulations from family and friends, a few family group shots and confetti throwing, it was off to Chevin Country Park Hotel in Otley to celebrate. Whilst we were waiting for all the guests to arrive, we spent the time with Rachel and Matt taking some couple shots, some of which featured a very special sports car - Matt's! He was, not surprisingly, really enthusiastic about these photographs! Rachel's nine year old nephew, Lewis, stole the after dinner show with a fantastic, surprise speech which had everyone in stitches. Well done, Lewis - you were a star! Whilst everyone was eating, we found a "wow" location inside the hotel which we earmarked for some special, after dinner portraits of Rachel. After a few romantic photographs of the couple together and a walk around the lake with them, we rounded off the story of a fabulous day with photographs of the first dance. Thank you Rachel and Matt for being a joy to work with and for allowing us the extra time to produce some beautiful, creative images for you. We had the most enjoyable day and we hope you are having a wonderful honeymoon in America.

Amanda and Liam's wedding at Wood Hall - 6 August 2009

Today we were at the stunning location of Wood Hall near Wetherby for Amanda and Liam's wedding. After joining Amanda for her preparations, we then moved on to meet Liam and his attendants for theirs. The style of the photographs reflects the style of the day - relaxed and very informal. Amanda and Liam's wedding day was about tying the knot and then enjoying the company of family and friends. The couple had employed the services of Charmaine Thompson and John Turner of CnJ Weddings - http://www.cnjweddings.co.uk/ - who did a fantastic job of helping Amanda and Liam source suppliers and plan for their big day. Perfect weather kept everyone outside enjoying the sunshine and the superb entertainment from a caricaturist and a magician. Liam's best man, Craig gave a hilarious speech and afterwards, he joined up with Alex for some skipping outside! We rounded off the photography with a group first dance in which Liam invited everyone to join him and Amanda on the dance floor. Thank you Amanda and Liam for choosing us to photograph your fun, informal wedding.

Claire and Dan's wedding at St Andrew's church, Ferrybridge and the Hotel St Pierre - 1 August 2009

Claire and Dan married at St Andrew's church in Ferrybridge. Their lovely vicar allowed us to capture images from their ceremony and even helped us to organise the big group shot of everyone inside the church afterwards, as rain prevented this from being taken outside. After the ceremony and some very impressive confetti throwing, it was off to Queen's Park in Castleford for Claire and Dan's photographs with their beautiful car and as the whole bridal party joined us, this was a brilliant opportunity to get some fun shots. Claire looked beautiful and the gorgeous colour scheme she chose looks fantastic in the photographs (was it fuchsia pink or raspberry?!) After everyone else left to head off to the Hotel St Pierre in Newmillerdam for the reception, we were left alone with Claire and Dan for a while and we made the most of this time to create some romantic images for them. After dinner and speeches, it was off to the lakeside at Newmillerdam for some special couple photographs and bridal portraits. This had been planned weeks before but on the wedding day, the weather wasn't good. However, these images were really important to Claire who wasn't going to be put off, changing into her comfy flip-flips for the walk along the path to our chosen spot beside the lake where we were joined by a few very puzzled ducks! Claire and Dan - you were absolute stars and we hope that the images we got were well worth getting soggy feet for! The finale to this great couple's fun wedding day was a fantastic first dance routine which they choreographed themselves. Everyone was well impressed - us included! Thank you Claire and Dan for inviting us to share your fun filled day!

Family portrait session - July 2009

We recently had the pleasure of meeting up with Paula, Duncan, Bailey and Eli at Pontefract castle for their annual family portrait session. Paula and Duncan are a fantastic couple who have given us the privilege of photographing them and their two fantastic boys every year for the past four years and we are very grateful to them for coming back to us each summer. This year is special, as Paula and Duncan celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. Our congratulations to them! It's been wonderful working with this lovely family and watching the boys grow and we hope to continue this important family tradition for many years to come.
