Melissa and Charles's wedding at Helmsley Church and the Black Swan Hotel on 26 September 2009
Melissa married Charles on a blazing hot day in the pretty church in the picturesque market town of Helmsley and the weather made it hard to believe that this was the end of September! After taking a few detail and accessory shots for Melissa at the Black Swan Hotel, we met up with Charles and his attendants downstairs for their preparations, drinks and fixing of buttonholes before heading to the church. With the church literally at stone's throw away, Melissa walked to the ceremony with her proud dad, John. After the ceremony and congratulations outside the church, we walked back to the Black Swan Hotel for the drinks reception and after completing the group photographs, we left the guests to enjoy the sunshine whilst we headed off with Melissa and Charles to the ruins of Helmsley castle. The couple's preference was for classical style photographs and we were very happy to oblige as this style is timeless and elegant, but with such a fabulous location we couldn't pass up the opportunity to create something with a "wow" factor for the lovely Melissa - she looked just amazing! The short time we had passed all too quickly and we had to get back to the Black Swan in time for the start of the wedding breakfast. We would have loved longer taking photographs around the castle ruins - what a stunning location it is! After dinner, speeches and the cutting of the cake, we made the most of the last of the daylight for informal and candid shots outside before Melissa and Charles took to the dance floor, Melissa having swapped the ivory bow on her silk gown for lovely black one. We hope you are enjoying your honeymoon in America and thank you so much for choosing us to record your special day.
