Baby Photographer Yorkshire - Logan

We had the pleasure of being the photographers at Lisa and Rob's wedding a few years ago when they married at Wentbridge House, and then again last September, at Lisa's brother, Paul's wedding to Catherine at Chevin Country Park Hotel.  Lisa and Rob were the first to have a baby, but only by a few months!  We'd heard a lot about their baby son Logan from Paul and Catherine when they brought their beautiful five day old daughter, Neave to the studio for her first professional baby photographs.  It was lovely to hear from Lisa to tell us that Logan was now sitting solidly and at the perfect age for the next baby portrait session.  Logan is a gorgeous, happy little boy who was fabulous to photograph.  It was really nice to see Lisa and Rob again and we are privileged when couples come back to us to photograph their babies.  We love seeing them again, meeting their new addition to the family and capturing some images which they will treasure.  Logan was so easy going that we got loads of great photos of him, making it quite a difficult task for his mum and dad to narrow them down.

If you would like to book a portrait session for your baby, please call us on 01977 730159.  The cost is just £30 which includes the session itself with no time limit and a private viewing appointment afterwards.  If you have used our wedding photography or portrait photography services before, as a thank you, we will be happy to welcome you for a photo shoot completely free of charge.

Wedding Photography at Oulton Hall - Melissa and Gareth

Almost exactly two years ago, we were the Leeds wedding photographers for Claire and Neil when they married at the Woodlands Hotel in Gildersome.  Today it was such a pleasure to be at the stunning location of Oulton Hall to capture Melissa and Gareth's celebrations.  Melissa is Neil's sister and we always feel very privileged when a brother or sister of a previous client asks us to photograph their wedding too and it was so nice to see a few familiar faces - Melissa's mum and dad, Mandy and Brian, brother Neil and sister in law Claire, plus a new addition to the family - Neil and Claire's cute baby son Alex.  We joined Melissa and the girls in the Knaresborough Castle suite and as we arrived, Melissa was in the make-up chair.  After photographing Melissa's gorgeous Sophia Tolli gown and all the other girly bits and pieces, including her bouquet of cabbages - ornamental cabbages that is - we left the girls to finish getting ready and went to find Gareth, Craig and David for their photographs.  The weather forecaster got it right and we enjoyed a lovely, dry day with no wind - perfect.  The boys' shots were soon in the can and we were back with Melissa who by now was almost ready for the ceremony.  The Leeds registrars were fantastic, allowing us to capture the civil ceremony as Melissa and Gareth tied the knot.  With a fairly short drinks reception, we worked quickly through the group shots which left time to get some photographs of the newly married couple around the spectacular grounds of Oulton Hall before we went indoors to photograph them on the staircase and the Repton Room all set up for the wedding breakfast.  With dinner and speeches over, including a very touching one from Melissa's dad, the sky was almost at that perfect dark blue colour, so the couple joined us outside for some evening shots.  As artistic wedding photographers, we just love it when the bride and groom are happy to spend some time with us between the end of the wedding breakfast and the start of the evening party.  This is when we create some of our most beautiful images.  After capturing Melissa and Gareth's first dance as husband and wife and a father and daughter dance too, we left everyone to party.  We have to say thank you to attendants Kirsty, Sarah, Craig and David for all their help in making everything run so smoothly.  Their help was invaluable and much appreciated.  Thank you so much Melissa and Gareth for asking us to share your wedding day.  Have a fabulous honeymoon!

If you were a guest a Melissa and Gareth's wedding, please feel free to leave a comment below - thank you.

Engagement Photography Yorkshire - Charlotte and Chris

We recently welcomed Charlotte and Chris to the studio for an engagement photo shoot and a meeting to discuss their wedding photography next month at Hazlewood Castle.  Charlotte was very relaxed about the portrait session but Chris was a little more apprehensive, especially as he had come a cropper and fallen off his bike a short time before, so arriving with two black eyes didn't do a lot for his confidence!  However, we did have a lot of fun and got a great mixture of traditional and contemporary images for the couple to choose from and when they came back for their viewing session, they found it hard to narrow it down to one favourite, finally settling on this image on a black background which will be framed with a signature mount after their wedding.  We've also included the second image on here because it is one of our favourites.  We think that Chris was quite impressed with Alex's skill in removing all traces of the bruises and we look forward so much to sharing his and Charlotte's wedding day as we know they'll be amazing to work with!

Baby Photographers in Castleford

New baby portraits for Megan

In November this year, we will be Gemma and Andy's wedding photographers when they tie the knot in a civil ceremony at Monk Fryston Hall.  When the couple came to book, they were excitedly awaiting the arrival of a brother or sister for their daughter, Lola, and it was fantastic to hear the happy news that she had a new baby sister, Megan, who made her entrance on New Year's Day - 1.1.11 - what a birthday!  Gemma and Andy brought Megan into the studio for her first professional baby photography session.  She was ten days' old when they came in and at the point where she still had that gorgeous new baby look.  The ideal time for these first pictures is between birth and ten days' old, so we just made it!  A personalised blanket, a gift from Megan's grandma, just had to be included in some of the pictures.  Megan did oblige by falling asleep for long enough to get these beautiful baby photographs.

Fashion and glamour photographer West Yorkshire

Photo shoot for Sarah

We first met stunning Sarah when she was a bridesmaid last summer for her close friend, Adele, and when we got chatting during the evening party, she told us about her background in fashion and design and expressed an interest in coming into the studio for a fashion and glamour photo shoot with us.  She brought along a selection of outfits, some of which she'd made herself as part of her college course.  She also brought her lovely mum Sue and we had a very enjoyable few hours creating a variety of images - some with a Hollywood screen idol look, some to show off Sarah's fabulous creations and others with a more glamourous feel to them.  Sue was especially pleased because we used a black wrap which she had painstakingly knitted in the two photographs below.  Sarah chose a selection of photographs from the session and here a couple of her favourites.

Make-over photography West Yorkshire

Portrait photo shoot for Louise

Louise approached us recently to ask if she could come into the studio for a portrait session so that she could present the photographs as a surprise gift to her partner.  The arrangements had to be kept a secret from Carl and today Louise came in to choose which images she wanted printing.  Perfect timing because today is Carl's birthday, but as he is back in Colorado, Louise plans to email her favourite picture from the session over to him.  We are very lucky to have a fantastic professional make-up artist who comes in for our clients whenever they want a make-over and as professional make-up makes such a difference in ladies' portraiture, not to mention how lovely it feels to be pampered, we asked Louise if this was something she was interested in.  She jumped at the chance to have Nicky make her over before the photo session.  Nicky created two different "looks" - the first an understated make-up for daytime and the second, a more glamourous make-up with brighter lips and smokey eyes.  Louise, who says she hates pictures of herself, was over the moon with them, choosing nine different images to be printed.  She was a pleasure to work with and this image is the one which will be winging its way to America.  Happy birthday Carl!
