Baby Twins Photographer West Yorkshire | Betsy and Emily

As baby photographers in Castleford, we often have the pleasure of welcoming our youngest clients to the studio for their first professional portrait session and we were very much looking forward to meeting Leonie, proud mum of twin baby girls, Betsy and Emily.  The twins were seven weeks' old but as they had been born seven weeks prematurely, they were actually the size of newborn babies.

We know that newborn photography takes time and patience and we also know that a photo session for a set of twins is likely to take even longer than it does for one baby. When one twin sleeps, the other wants feeding, then they swap over and when both finally do fall sleep it's very easy to wake them up whilst you're trying to pose them together.

There is no clock watching when you are a new baby photographer and Leonie, her mum and the babies were in the studio for a long time but it was so worth it and we were well rewarded with lots of beautiful images.  Leonie and Lucy have now chosen their favourites to be included in a gorgeous baby book which will be a treasured keepsake for the twins when they grow up.

For photographs like these, time really is crucial and the earlier the session takes place, the better.  If you would like us to photograph your new baby, please call us on 01977 730159.  You don't even have to wait until your baby is born as you are welcome to express your interest whilst you are pregnant.  You can also follow us on Facebook.

Family Portrait Photography West Yorkshire | Madison's First Birthday Photos

Madison's dad, Liam, called us and booked a baby portrait session a long time in advance because he had a specific and very special date in mind - his daughter's first birthday.

Madison arrived with her mum and dad and her nana and granddad.  We were taken with how warm and friendly this lovely family are and we were greeted with a hug and a kiss from nana, Kathy, which set us up very nicely for the portrait session and for Christmas!

Mum, Samantha, had dressed Madison in a gorgeous silver dress and pink tights and she'd even co-ordinated the wrapping paper and silver bow on her daughter's birthday present with her outfit.  This attention to detail made all the difference and the colour scheme looked great on our white background.

A sequence of action images followed as Madison battled with the wrapping paper and then played with her present and the best ones would look amazing presented in a multi image photo frame. We'll see what her mum and dad think when they come in for the viewing.

As family portrait photographers in West Yorkshire, we do not time limit our sessions because we want our clients to receive the best possible value for money and enjoy a relaxed and happy experience.  We followed Madison's photographs on her own with several family combinations so her parents and grandparents have some images to treasure from this special portrait sitting.

To book us for your family portrait or baby photo session, please call us on 01977 730159.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Baby Photographer West Yorkshire | Charlie's Portrait Session

Charlie's mum and dad, Catherine and Gary, brought him along for a baby photo session a few weeks ago.  We've held off blogging this portrait session because the photographs are to be Christmas presents for their family and we didn't want to risk spoiling the surprise for anyone!

Catherine had brought a lovely outfit for Charlie to wear for his photographs but she did mention that it would be nice to get some of him without clothes.  As experienced West Yorkshire baby photographers, we know that usually babies of this age don't go to sleep whilst they are in the studio so the cute, nude, sleeping baby images don't happen.  However, there are always exceptions and Charlie proved us wrong.  We're not sure if he was genuinely tired or if we bored him to sleep but who cares!  This image is our favourite from the session and includes Leeds United Teddy to keep dad happy.

Baby Photographers in Castleford

New baby portraits for Megan

In November this year, we will be Gemma and Andy's wedding photographers when they tie the knot in a civil ceremony at Monk Fryston Hall.  When the couple came to book, they were excitedly awaiting the arrival of a brother or sister for their daughter, Lola, and it was fantastic to hear the happy news that she had a new baby sister, Megan, who made her entrance on New Year's Day - 1.1.11 - what a birthday!  Gemma and Andy brought Megan into the studio for her first professional baby photography session.  She was ten days' old when they came in and at the point where she still had that gorgeous new baby look.  The ideal time for these first pictures is between birth and ten days' old, so we just made it!  A personalised blanket, a gift from Megan's grandma, just had to be included in some of the pictures.  Megan did oblige by falling asleep for long enough to get these beautiful baby photographs.

Family Photography West Yorkshire

Zoe, John and Austin's family portrait photography

Zoe was a bridesmaid for her close friend, Sadie, when she got married in September last year.  Sadie rang us to order a portrait gift certificate for Zoe, her hubby John and their baby boy Austin.  This was Sadie's wonderful and unique bridesmaid gift to Zoe and we were very happy to finally get to meet the family when they came into the studio, having chatted to Zoe a couple of times over the phone to discuss ideas prior to the shoot.  After taking some family photographs of everyone together, it was over to Austin who is such a pleasant, happy baby.  We were looking forward to the finale to this baby portrait session very much, as Zoe had come up with the idea of a "trash the cake" shoot and as Austin loves chocolate, we knew this would make for some great images.  We don't think Austin could quite believe his eyes when a whole chocolate cake was presented to him and surprisingly he did need a bit of encouragement to dive in!  Who cares about the mess when you get images like these?  As the cake was demolished, Zoe and John started to realise just how difficult it would be to clean Austin up afterwards - even the best baby wipes are no match for a baby absolutely covered from head to toe in chocolate cake, but a quick dip in the studio sink, followed by a rub down in a fluffy yellow towel and Austin was as clean as a whistle!  A fantastic family, a gorgeous baby and a fun filled photo session.

Marie, Damian and Florence's portrait session

Over four years ago we were the wedding photographers for Marie and Damian when they married in Harome, celebrating at The Star Inn.  Since then, we've seen them at two more weddings - in Leeds for Marie's sister Jayne's marriage to Kevin and then all the way to Cheshire for the celebrations of Marie's friend Emma to Ryan.  We were really excited to receive an email from Marie to tell us that she and Damian are now the proud parents of a beautiful baby daughter, Florence, or Flossie as she has been affectionately nick-named, and as mother and baby photographers in West Yorkshire, we were delighted to be asked to take some special photographs of Marie and Flossie together to celebrate a very special birthday - Marie's 30th on New Year's Eve.  So, as we welcomed the family to the studio, it was "lovely to see you again", "congratulations", "happy birthday" and "happy New Year!"  Damian made it clear that these photographs were his birthday present to Marie and that the focus should be firmly on his two ladies, but we couldn't let him off the hook that easily!  It would have been a shame not to take a few family photographs of them all together, especially as it's clear that Damian is such a devoted dad, but we think he was glad to be a spectator for most of the portrait session.  Flossie is a gorgeous baby and looks so much like him!  We had a really fun time, lots of laughs and we look forward to seeing Marie and Damian when they come back to view their images.
