Rogerthorpe Manor Wedding Photography - Cheryl and Kevin

We're always happy to be Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers and we were delighted to be chosen to capture Cheryl and Kevin's special day at this beautiful wedding venue.

We arrived at the couple's home where make-up and hair styling were in full swing and we received a warm welcome from Cheryl and her maid of honour, Dawn, who, along with best man, Neil, did so much to make sure that everything ran smoothly and that Cheryl and Kevin had a wonderful wedding day.  It's lovely to capture all those pretty girly details before we start our photo session with the groom and his attendants. There is always a pair of very important shoes to photograph but our bride had two pairs - one pair of comfortable, classic, satin wedding shoes and one pair of spectacular but very high purple shoes which she favoured but was doubtful of being able to wear all day.  What do you but photograph both pairs!

We left to start the Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photography with the boys, keeping our fingers crossed for the weather to hold out.  With a 4pm ceremony just a couple of days before the clocks went back and a very tight timeline between the end of the ceremony and the start of the wedding breakfast, we knew we'd have to work fast.  Dry weather is right at the top of the list of things you want on any wedding day but it's even more welcome with late weddings at this time of year.   Everything fell into place, the weather hung on, just, Cheryl and her dad arrived early, the guests were quick to come when we needed them, Cheryl and Kevin were incredibly easy going and worked perfectly with us to fit in as much as possible, and Neil and Dawn were brilliant attendants, helping gather guests together for groups.

After the civil ceremony in the Cawthorne Suite, conducted by the Pontefract registrars, who, without exception, are wonderful to work with, everyone made their way outside for the big group photo which we thought we might not get as it was very dark and gloomy and it looked like the heavens would open at any moment.  We did our best to ignore the threat of rain and whizzed through the group photos and confetti shots before spending some time with the new Mr and Mrs Morgan around the grounds for their photographs.  Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photography has a lot to offer, with immaculate gardens and some lovely areas to work, especially when there is just one wedding, as this means you can take advantage of the main lawned area and the rear garden too.

A late wedding breakfast meant that it was almost dark by the time everyone went inside but we breathed a massive sigh of relief that it had stayed dry and allowed us to photograph outside.  We captured a few after dark images once the speeches were finished, and we ended with Cheryl and Kevin's first dance together, before a hog roast buffet was served.

We are so grateful to this lovely couple for booking us to photograph their wedding and we have to mention their gorgeous little daughter, Isobel, who added bucket loads of cuteness to her mum and dad's celebrations.  If you'd like us to be your Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers, please call us on 01977 730159, and why not follow us on Facebook.  Thank you very much.
