Rogerthorpe Manor Wedding Photographers | Nicola and Chris's Wedding

We were delighted, as always, to be back as Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel wedding photographers, this time for Nicola and Chris.  An 11am ceremony meant starting early with the Doncaster wedding photography and even earlier as Rotherham wedding photographers because that's where Nicola got ready at her parents' house and where we received a warm welcome.  We captured some very pretty details for our bride and Nicola was almost ready before we had to leave to make the journey to meet Chris and his best man at the church, meaning she didn't miss out on having photographs taken as her beautiful dress was fastened and we also got some lovely shots as her parents came into the bedroom to see her as a bride for the first time.  The sun was blazing so we moved the boys round the side of the church into better light for their portraits, before Nicola's car appeared and she was walked into the ceremony by her very proud dad.  Although we were only allowed to photograph the ceremony from the rear of the church, having cameras fitted with different lenses meant that we could capture long shots and also close-ups as the couple exchanged vows and rings and Miss Smith became Mrs Nightingale.  After the registers were signed and the couple were pelted by a volley of confetti, we set off ahead of them to be ready and waiting at Rogerthorpe Manor for their arrival and to take some photographs featuring their Beauford wedding car.  They really struck lucky with the weather and although the time before the wedding breakfast was short and taken up mainly with the family formals, we had loads of time afterwards for more couple photographs, bridal portraits, fun images, and the natural, candid moments as their guests mingled outside and enjoyed the late afternoon and early evening sunshine.  The guests were a great crowd to be around and up for a laugh and this made for a very enjoyable day for us as recommended Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers, which ended after Nicola and Chris were invited to the floor to impress everyone with their fabulous and fun first dance routine. Wedding Photographer Farmer Copley's, Pontefract | Roxanne and Luke's Wedding Photography

We always enjoy working at new venues and it was the first time we have been wedding photographers at Five Towns' Christian Fellowship church in Castleford where Roxy and Luke tied the knot on Yorkshire Day, and also our first time providing the wedding photography at Farmer Copley's in Pontefract.  We hit it off at our first meeting with the couple as they are so lovely, very enthusiastic, devoted to each other and extremely kind and considerate.  We knew we'd have a great time on their wedding day and we just hoped for decent weather, especially given the venue they had chosen.  As Castleford wedding photographers, it's not often we get to work so close to home but Roxy got ready at her parents' house, two minutes' drive away, and the couple married in a church just round the corner, in one of the most joyful and personal ceremonies we've had the pleasure of capturing.  It was a first for their minister too - the first marriage ceremony he had conducted.  A colour scheme of deep plum was complimented by bright yellow sun flowers but the sun itself stayed well and truly hidden until much later!  Farmer Copley's is a working farm, surrounded by fields, and the wedding breakfast was held in a marquee in one of them.  Roxy and Luke really wanted their group photos taking there with the backdrop of open countryside and as the weather had held for Luke's photographs with his attendants and throughout the ceremony, we hoped for the best, took a chance and left straight after the confetti photos, but boy was it windy when we arrived!  Heather Copley and her staff were brilliant and her common sense and her desire to do the best she could for us and the wedding party was invaluable when, just as we were getting into the group photo session, the heavens opened and everyone had no choice but to run for cover.  We photographed the interior of the marquee and the table details and Heather suggested bringing the speeches and wedding breakfast forward and picking up on the group photographs afterwards because the weather forecast for later was much better.  We kept our fingers crossed that her weather app and ours were telling the truth!  Thankfully, the rain stopped, the wind dropped and it was beautiful in the early evening, enabling us to photograph the groups immediately after the wedding breakfast and then take Roxy and Luke off for their photographs together.  Thank you Mr and Mrs Earnshaw, Dawn, Simon, Joyce and Kerry for inviting us to share your wonderful day, for taking everything in your stride, for being so helpful when the weather conspired against us, and for looking after us so well.  We hope you enjoy this preview of a few of our favourite images.  

Wedding Photography at Hazlewood Castle | Hayley & Jonathan's Wedding

The last Saturday in July is one of the most popular wedding dates and Hayley and Jonathan were quick and secured us as their Hazlewood Castle wedding photographers. We loved every minute spent with the couple and their guests, starting with an early morning civil ceremony in the Victoria Room.  After they had tied the knot, we tagged along as Hayley disappeared upstairs to get ready for the blessing, simultaneously having her hair styled and her make-up applied.  Some pretty impressive pampering!!  She had chosen a beautiful dress, gorgeous flowers, and a pair of rainbow shoes which reflected the theme the couple had chosen for their spectacular rainbow wedding day.  We caught up with the boys for their photo session before the blessing in the chapel of St Leonard, conducted by Ian Walton.  He makes every service personal and relevant to each couple and because he welcomes and encourages professional wedding photography, believing as we do that these are the bride and groom's memories to look back on in years to come, we love working with him.  Hayley and Jonathan were a delightful couple to photograph.  Their enthusiasm and their willingness to work with us before and after their wedding breakfast resulting in plenty of gorgeous Hazlewood Castle wedding photographs.  Their obvious affection for each other and the feedback we received whilst we photographed them around this lovely venue made for a very good time and Jonathan's testimonial on our Facebook page the day after made us feel a bit humble but extremely proud.  The couple had a rainbow umbrella which they really wanted to use in some of their photographs.  We were delighted when they presented it to us as a gift immediately after we'd completed the photographs.  Thank you so much guys, we love it!  We headed back to the castle, photographed Pedally Steve - if you're looking for something original and impressive, check him out - and then the first dance, ending our coverage with some photographs outside in the courtyard as dusk fell.  What can we say Mr and Mrs Oakes, except thank you for booking us, for being stars all day, for the unexpected and very welcome gift, and for your kind words.  We can't wait to see you on your return from honeymoon.  Your album will be a cracker!
