Laura and Al's Wedding Photography at Oulton Hall

Laura and Al married on Palm Island in the Caribbean in November.  We didn't get to capture that part of their celebrations as we couldn't fit in their suitcases, but we were delighted when they approached us during the planning of their UK wedding party and asked us if we would be their Oulton Hall wedding photographers.  Oulton Hall is a stunning venue where we always love working and it holds a very special place in the couple's hearts, as they both worked there, met there, and the rest, as they say, is history. Al is a warm hearted, southern guy and Laura is lovely, bubbly, Yorkshire lass who we first met when she was one of the wedding co-ordinators.  It's a massive compliment when a wedding co-ordinator chooses you to be her wedding photographer!  We caught up with Laura to get photographs of her dress, shoes, perfume and her spectacular engagement ring and once she'd done her make-up and was in her dress we took some bridal portraits on the gallery whilst we waited for Al to join her.  We knew that Al wasn't overly keen on being photographed but we got some fantastic portraits of him too!  After some dreadful weather and what seemed like endless rain over the previous few weeks, things improved a lot for Laura and Al's day, and it was lovely to get outside without the need for umbrellas for a change.  We enjoyed a relaxed bride and groom portrait session and some beautiful Oulton Hall wedding photography around the venue, followed by the family group photos in the warmth of the Repton Room.  The Oulton Suite had been dressed in jewel colours with details following a Caribbean theme.  There were casino tables, a Slush Puppy machine, informal speeches and a band.  We managed to get Laura and Al outside at the perfect time, as light fell, for some gorgeous, romantic, twilight images before party time and dancing.  Congratulations and thank you Mr and Mrs Briggs-Roberts for booking us for your wedding photography at Oulton Hall.

Wedding Photography at Waterton Park Hotel | Amy & Kris

Our last wedding of 2015 was Amy and Kris's, and as recommended Waterton Park Hotel wedding photographers we were really looking forward to being there to share this lovely couple's celebrations.  Brides often ask us what we will do in the event of bad weather and it's fair to say that days when it rains without any let up are thankfully quite rare.  The honest answer is that we will get wet and you will get a little bit wet, but if you work with us and keep smiling, you will get beautiful photographs.  As professional and recommended wedding photographers for Waterton Park, we know that there are areas to work under cover and also the wedding co-ordinators are very much hands on when it comes to the smooth running of the day, including clearing a room for us to use to photograph the groups, without being asked and with no fuss.  Thank you Pauline and Amy!  Other factors help make great photographs despite rubbish weather; our collection of umbrellas which come with us to every single wedding, and the most important thing of all, a fabulous couple who are determined not to let the weather spoil their celebrations or compromise their photographs.  Amy and Kris couldn't have done more to help us and although we looked like a couple of drowned rats by the end of the day, we got some stunning pictures for them!  Amy looked gorgeous in her vintage style lace dress with bespoke veil and hairpiece and the heavy beading around the edge of her veil made it stay in place once arranged.  After we had lost the light altogether it was lovely to work on the staircase and in the reception area, capturing some more Walton Hall wedding photographs before the new Mr and Mrs Buckley joined their guests for the first dance and evening party.  Thank you so much, not only for booking us to share your beautiful winter wedding but for being such stars and for showing everyone that it's not the weather that matters, it's marrying your soul mate.
