We knew we'd have a fabulous day with Becky and Shaun, a wonderful, friendly and easy to get along with couple, genuinely lovely people, who booked us for their wedding photography at Rogerthorpe Manor which happened to fall on the day after one of the wettest days we've seen in a long time. The wet stuff hadn't quite disappeared and no sooner had we set foot out of the car when we arrived at the venue to join the girls' as they got ready, it tipped it down, the grey clouds and rain making for an atmospheric location shot, and we got a soaking! The weather has given us the serious runaround this year. Thankfully, that soaking early on was the only one we got that day and Becky and Shaun stayed dry! We received a warm welcome from the girls when we arrived, with the usual hair and make-up production line going on. Becky had chosen a gorgeous dress, very classy and elegant, and she had her hair up in an equally elegant style, beautiful, timeless and so bridal. As regular Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers we never fail to be impressed by how lovely and well maintained the grounds are, but with two weddings that day we knew we had to make the most of the main garden before the meal got underway and we had to hand over that area to the other wedding party. It's times like this when you really need decent weather and we got lucky because after the ceremony in the Cawthorne Suite the sun was out, the guests were out, and we managed to get the group shots finished with time to spare for some portraits of the new Mr and Mrs Liversidge before the wedding breakfast. Lee, the venue's master of ceremonies, is a fantastic asset to Rogerthorpe Manor, couples and guests love him, he's very helpful, keeps things running smoothly, has a lot of cheeky banter and is an expert photo bomber at our weddings! After the formalities we took some time away from the guests, which gave Becky and Shaun a chance to have some romantic photographs taken before the evening party started. This is the time when we slow things down, chat a lot with the couple, help them relax and create some special photographs for them. It's something we really look forward to and one of our favourite times on a wedding day. Our sincere congratulations to you both. Couples like you are the reason we love this job so much. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with you.
