Photography Awards

The Master Photographers Association Yorkshire Region held their annual print competition at the Bridge Inn, Whitwood on Monday, 10 May 2010.  The competition attracted just short of 350 entries from some of Yorkshire's most talented, full time, professional photographers.  Desi Fontaine FMPA travelled all the way from London to judge the competition and she commented on how high the standard was.  She said that she found the experience of judging such a large number of entries very enjoyable and rewarding.

Newly married Becky Hammond, the beautiful lady in the winning photograph wrote "Hi Alex and Janet, just wanted to say how pleased I am for you on winning your awards.  You deserve the recognition for your constant hard work!  Well done and congratulations.  So happy for you!"

Master Photographers Association Print Competition - 8 June 2009

The Master Photographers Association held their annual print competition and award ceremony on Monday, 8 June 2009. The competition was judged to a very high standard by John Parris FMPA and there were 229 entries into the various categories. The Classical Wedding category always attracts one of the highest numbers of entries and it is very difficult to secure an award in this particular category as competition is always fierce. Therefore, Janet was delighted to win a Merit award in the Classical Wedding category. John described the image as a great capture with fantastic expressions showing everyone having a good time. Our thanks must go to Kathryn and Stephen Boyes, the couple in the image, for choosing us as their photographers and for being such a joy to work with. Kathryn's beautiful smile shone all day long and we had a wonderful day with her, Stephen and their family and friends.
