It's always a great feeling when a couple choose us to be their Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers or anywhere they want us to work for that matter, and over the years we've found similarities between the brides and grooms who book us, like Sally and Andy, who placed a lot of value on their wedding photography, wanted classy, elegant pictures and where attention to detail was really important. We got on like a house on fire and we felt so valued that it was easy to go the extra mile for them. It's hard to imagine a couple more complimentary about our work and they were awesome, so enthusiastic about everything we suggested to get beautiful photographs. We always enjoy our visits to Rogerthorpe Manor, a venue local to us, and as we've built a great relationship with the staff, spanning many years, we get a warm welcome, always. The challenging weather has been a recurring topic of conversation this year but for a change the wet stuff gave us a break. However, wedding photographers are hard to please when it comes to their perfect weather and it was breezy with bright sunshine, both of which present difficulties. Not to worry, it not raining makes us happy, sunshine puts everyone in a good mood and we were there all day, as we always are, which means on those summer days we can pick and choose which areas to work in earlier in the day and leave other areas until later when the sun has set and the light is softer and more even. Sally got ready in the main hotel building, in a lovely room for bridal preparations, and she gave us a very warm welcome. The lighting and the headboard in this room makes a beautiful backdrop for that most important of dresses and Sally had asked for a photograph like one she'd seen in one of our albums. There were some beautiful details, as well as hair styling and make-up to capture before we moved outside for Andy's photographs. We knew there was something very special about Andy's wedding ring, made from a gold ingot gifted to him to celebrate his christening, a lovely story that Andy shared with us before the wedding. The couple had their wish for an outdoor ceremony and everyone stayed outside and enjoyed the sunshine whilst we got the group shots in the can. The Lawrence Suite looked really pretty, the speeches were belters and afterwards we had the luxury of plenty of daylight and the pleasure of spending some quiet time with Sally and Andy, whose happiness at becoming husband and wife was obvious. There was a magician who enthralled the guests during the early evening, the first dance was gorgeous and the icing on the cake was that there was only one wedding being hosted, so we got the main garden area and the folly to ourselves for some spectacular twilight photos. An absolutely fabulous day in fabulous company. A massive thank you Mr and Mrs Green for choosing us. Congratulations!

Rogerthorpe Manor Wedding Photographer | Rebecca and Wayne's Wedding
When we first met Rebecca and Wayne and they booked us over two years before their big day we just hit it off and we knew we'd have a fantastic time as their Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers. We've loved getting to know them during the run up to their wedding and we've shared Rebecca's planning challenges along the way. She and her girls got ready in the party room, one of the venue's Courtyard Suites, perfect when there is a make-up and hair styling production line going on, as there is plenty of space. There were some gorgeous details to capture, and Vicky, one of her friends, did a stunning, professional make-up for Rebecca, as well as helping her to relax and enjoy being pampered. It was really windy and continuing with the trend we've had this year, it rained after the ceremony, meaning group photos in the Rose Room, assisted by Maid of Honour, Jill, who did a cracking job. Things improved later, allowing us outside again, with the advantage of beautiful, soft and even light, a wedding photographer's dream. There were so many lovely things about this wedding; Rebecca's bridesmaids each with a sign spelling out the words "just wait till you see her", to be sent as a teaser to Wayne, her giggles as she dropped his ring, a personalised aisle runner, the amazing cake designed and made by our friend, Karen, the Vintage Cake Fairy, who comes highly recommended, the couple's wonderful kids, Jade, Emily and Thomas, a fabulous, fun bridal party and a couple who were an absolute joy to be with. As there was only one wedding being hosted that day we had a little extra time outside once the rain disappeared, enjoying the locations you have for Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photography before the time came to get those important shots of the Lawrence Suite, decorated in soft pink. There have been a few secrets during the planning for this wedding and we had been primed by Rebecca about her surprises for Wayne, which were announced during the speeches, a poem written and delivered by his bride, and Wayne thought they were going to a log cabin for a mini moon. Wrong! A week in the sun in Zante, booked and paid for by Rebecca. His face was a picture when he asked how many people knew about the deception and many hands went up, including ours, and Lee, the toastmaster's! Days are lengthening now and after dinner the couple joined us again for a bride and groom portrait session which was finished before their evening guests started to arrive, allowing them to enjoy greeting them and mingling before the first dance. We set up for twilight photos on the main lawn and we've never seen a bride and groom move as fast when Janet went inside to ask them to come out. We knew how much Rebecca wanted them and we are delighted that everything came together to get a set of images that will make the most spectacular end to their wedding album. A massive thank you for booking us and for your friendship and laughter. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Lee!
