Baby Photographer | Mother and Baby Photography Castleford

The current coronavirus situation and resulting lockdown means that although our studio isn't open at the moment, we are still very much here, working behind the scenes on things we've been putting off, including planning for new products and a fabulous new baby photography service.  We can't wait to get back to normal and start welcoming clients again!

Before the lockdown we had the pleasure of doing two Castleford baby photography sessions, when we welcomed new mum, Shelley, with her gorgeous baby boy, Phoenix, followed by Chantelle and Neil, whose wedding we photographed and who are brand new parents to beautiful, tiny Sophie.  We used a very different style for each session but both of them were wonderful and we over the moon with the results.

Oulton Hall Wedding Photographers | Sarah and David's Wedding

We're always excited about providing wedding photography at Oulton Hall and we were delighted when Sarah and David booked us to photograph their celebrations at this beautiful venue.  We knew it would be great fun as the couple don't take themselves too seriously and as expected, theirs was a day full of laughter and celebrations, just how a great wedding should be, with a very welcome bonus of perfect weather for most of it. Sarah had chosen a gorgeous Ronald Joyce gown and two pairs of shoes - a pair of glamorous, silver high heels for show and a pair of sparkly Converse trainers for comfort. After capturing some pretty detail shots for our bride, we tracked down David and his attendants for some portraits before the ceremony in the Oulton Suite and it was more a case of him keeping us entertained with his Geordie banter, warmth and good humour. This was a wedding packed with giggles, including a hilarious "Wey aye" moment during the ceremony!  The guests enjoyed a champagne reception in the grounds whilst we worked through the groups and naturally, it was really important to Sarah and David that we captured some images of them with their son, Asher, but kids being kids, he had other ideas and much more interesting things to be getting on with than standing still having his photograph taken.  Sometimes, as a professional Leeds wedding photographer, you have to employ different tactics to get the pictures you need and we got a lovely sequence of the three of them as they walked hand in hand.  With an eye on the time before the wedding breakfast we managed to get some bridal photographs at Oulton Hall's main entrance and David joined Sarah for a few romantic shots together. After the wedding breakfast and the speeches we worked together to create some fine art portraits on the gallery and the staircase.  The weather took a turn for the worse just as we decided to head outside again and enjoy the remaining daylight but the couple were absolute stars and went out anyway.  The evening kicked off with a chocolate fountain, and fancy dress for the kids, and Sarah and David enjoyed their first dance together.  We had a ball at this wedding!  A groom who made us laugh, a bride who was up for anything we suggested, lovely, friendly guests, good weather (mostly!) and a favourite venue of ours. Thank you Sarah and David, such a great couple, for choosing us as your Oulton Hall wedding photographers.

Mother and Baby Photographer Castleford - Emma & Jacob

As professional portrait photographers in Castleford, it was so nice to welcome the Simpson family to the studio recently.  We were privileged to photograph Emma and Carl's wedding at Oulton Hall some time ago and delighted to hear that they were now the proud parents of a handsome lad called Jacob.

After a couple of failed attempts at getting to us for their Castleford family portrait session due to Jacob being off colour, thankfully they finally managed it and it was great to spend time taking a variety of different combinations of family together as well as Jacob on his own.  Emma especially wanted some skin to skin photographs with her son, and from this part of the session came the image below, which is one of our favourites.  It's been cropped very tightly so that you see the tenderness in Emma's face, as well as Jacob's striking blue eyes.

If you are interested in a portrait session in West Yorkshire, please get in touch.  It costs just £35 which includes our time with you in the studio, professional editing of your images and a private viewing appointment so that you can choose your favourite photographs to be printed.

Engagement portrait photography Yorkshire

Lyndsey and Michael's engagement portrait session

Lyndsey and Michael are marrying in Bradford at the end of July and ahead of their wedding, they came into the studio for an engagement portrait session.  We suggested that they bring a set of casual clothes and a set of smart ones so that we could create a couple of different looks for them, to give them a really good choice of images.  We had a really fun time with them both and the session helped them feel more relaxed in front of the camera.  They will choose their favourite image from the session and this will be displayed at their wedding, along with a signature mount for their guests to write messages on.  After the wedding, we will frame the photograph and signature mount together for Lyndsey and Michael to display as a really lovely reminder of their wedding day.  They were such a pleasure to work with and we are really looking forward to their big day in a few weeks time!

Portrait photographer Castleford

Amy and Lucas

As professional children's portrait photographers in Castleford, it was our pleasure to welcome cousins, Amy and Lucas, along with Amy's step-mum Nicky and Lucas's mum Emma to the studio.  We know Nicky well, having met her when she was the make-up artist for Nathalie, one of our brides, and we have also worked together in the studio.  Nicky is a very talented and creative make-up artist.

Nicky called us to ask if we fancied the challenge of photographing a two year old girl and a one year old boy together, as a gift for the children's grandma.  Now, how do you get two children these ages to stay in one place long enough to be photographed together?  We managed it pretty well with the help of Nicky and Emma.  Nicky did admit she was exhausted at the end of the session though!

Two delightful children and some great images!
