Waterton Park Hotel Wedding Photographers | Gemma and Dave's Wedding

We photographed our last wedding of 2017 at Waterton Park Hotel and it was fabulous to kick off our 2018 season in January, six years to the day from their first meeting, and provide Gemma and Dave's wedding photography at Waterton Park.  Getting to know these guys has been amazing, from that very first meeting at a wedding fair at the venue before the couple had even set a date.  It's hard to think of many things more flattering than to be told by Dave that they chose the venue, and the styling and ideas for their big day, based on the images they had seen in our display sample album of wedding photographs at Walton Hall. We arrived to find a very relaxed Gemma in the Gamekeeper's Cottage. We really enjoy this part of the day, capturing all the pretty bridal details and the make-up artist at work.  For January we couldn't have hoped for better weather and Dave and his lads were in great spirits as we started chapter two of his and Gemma's wedding story, beside the lake with a set of golf clubs!  During the groom's portrait session we knew that Gemma would be making the trip across the bridge to one of the rooms in Walton Hall to get into her dress, so we had to make sure Dave didn't get a glimpse of her.  The civil ceremony was filled with laughter, exactly as it should be, in fact there was lots of giggling going on throughout the celebrations, in particular from Dave's mum and dad who are wonderfully mischievous.  Everyone came outside straight after the ceremony for a big group photo and then we took over the library for the family groups.  We were so lucky that the weather was kind and allowed us to get outside and fill the time we had left before the wedding breakfast in the company of this genuinely lovely couple around their beautiful venue.  Their enthusiasm for their photographs was very infectious, even when it meant coming outside during dinner for the twilight pictures that they really wanted.  The swan in some of them was a nice bonus too.  The speeches were really funny, resulting in some great moments captured, and the party continued with a casino, followed by a brilliantly choreographed first dance. Gemma and Dave, your wedding was a joy to be part of and you guys were fantastic!  We hope your photographs are everything you imagined and more.  Congratulations from both of us!

Waterton Park Hotel Wedding Photography | Donna and Jamie's Wedding

We're always happy when we're booked by lovely couples to be wedding photographers at Waterton Park Hotel as this spectacular island location, which is unique amongst Yorkshire wedding venues, has everything a Wakefield wedding photographer could wish for - a stunning lakeside backdrop, interesting architecture, attractive areas indoors, which come in very useful especially if the weather doesn't play ball,  and friendly and attentive staff who can't do enough to make sure the bride and groom and their guests have a fantastic day.  Donna and her girls got ready in the Gamekeeper's Cottage and she had told us to expect her dress to be something out of the ordinary and Wow! it was gorgeous!  We left the girls to their final preparations and met up with Jamie and his attendants for the lads' portraits on the island, along with the banter this always brings.  After the civil ceremony the guests gathered on the island to enjoy the drinks reception, the great weather and the surroundings and we cracked on with the group photo session.  Donna and Jamie had gone to town on the decor in the Waterton Suite and for the last few minutes before the guests were invited to sit for dinner, we captured a selection of the table details, some of which had a fishing theme, but more about that later.  Weddings at this venue run like clockwork and as recommended wedding photographers for Walton Hall Hotel we know that whilst the guests are taking their places for dinner, we have a few precious minutes for some couple and bridal portraits around the columns at the front, with no photo bombers!  We love all weddings but summer ones are great, with their long daylight hours, which meant we could capture something Jamie was particularly enthusiastic about after the wedding breakfast and speeches.  To say Jamie is a keen fisherman is an understatement, so we suspect this went some way to influencing the couple's choice of venue, and he couldn't wait to have some photographs taken with a fishing theme.  We're not sure he was too happy about relinquishing his fishing rod to his wife but we are really happy with the results!  You guys were such great sports and we loved working with you. After the first dance in the Boathouse we went back outside to set up to take some twilight photographs which will make an incredible ending to Donna and Jamie's wedding album. Congratulations on tying the knot Mr and Mrs Watts and thank you so much for choosing us to share such a beautiful day.
