Walton Hall Wedding Photography for Abbie and Matt

With the British summer 2016 as unpredictable as ever, you can count yourself lucky getting one glorious day for a wedding, but to get three days on the trot when the rain doesn't make an appearance is something you wouldn't even dare to wish for.  Abbie and Matt are such a lovely couple and they certainly deserved the sun to shine on their wedding day, our third in three days, and as Walton Hall wedding photographers, we were over the moon when it did!  When you've been a professional Wakefield wedding photographer for as long as we have, you begin to realise that your photography style and your personalities attract clients whose values and tastes are similar to yours, and we knew at our first meeting that we were a perfect fit for Abbie and Matt.  They thought the same, saying that they'd had a good vibe about us straight away.  This great couple and their families are considerate, polite and appreciative, and a pleasure to be around.  Waterton Park Hotel is a spectacular venue where we are recommended wedding photographers and we couldn't have wished for a more enjoyable day.  The majority of their suppliers had been chosen from the venue's list of recommended professionals, including Val from Cushty Chairs, professional guitarist and singer, Jill Ryder and Pamela Clare who did Abbie's stunning make-up.  This was the first time we'd photographed a ceremony in the Walton Suite on the island and after meeting for the first time only the day before, we had the pleasure of working again with registrar Lyndsey, and her colleague Julie, who we've known for a while.  After the ceremony the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed the sunshine, champagne and the beautiful surroundings whilst we cracked on with group photos, impressively assisted by Matt's brother, Jonny.  After two pleasantly warm days, things really started to heat up and the blazing sunshine meant that the light wasn't ideal in some of the locations we wanted to use for Mr and Mrs Hays' photographs, so we took advantage of the long daylight hours and split the photography up to use the best light at the time, which kept the couple's Waterton Park wedding photography relaxed and interesting for them, as well as giving them plenty of free time with their guests.  A perfect day in the company of an absolutely wonderful couple.  Congratulations and our very best wishes for a long and happy marriage and thank you for booking us to share your wedding day.

Wedding Photographers for Waterton Park Hotel | Kathryn and Chris's Wedding

For the second time this season we were very fortunate to be booked to photograph three weddings in three days and the third one this time was Kathryn and Chris's, who very kindly booked us to be their Waterton Park Hotel wedding photographers at that time of year when late summer should have started to give way to autumn, but it was really warm, dry and sunny and better than many days we've had during the summer months.  Kathryn greeted us when we arrived at the venue to start her make-up photos and accessory shots and the atmosphere was relaxed and calm and very different to the usual noisy activity of the getting ready part of a wedding day, but it did get a bit more lively when two of her bridesmaids arrived and provided some giggles and banter which was lovely to be part of. The girls carried on with their preparations whilst we kept Chris and his attendants occupied over on the island with their photographs before the civil ceremony got underway and an emotional groom married his beautiful bride.  The couple and their guests couldn't have asked for better weather.  It meant everyone could stay outside and enjoy the lovely surroundings this venue offers.  Wedding photography at Waterton Park does mean you are spoilt for choice when it comes to locations to use but time was short and in any case we really wanted to get the group photos completed and then wait until the sun had gone down for some of Kathryn and Chris's romantic photographs together.  Because their ceremony and their wedding breakfast were early we still had daylight once the speeches were finished and after a few pictures in the bridal suite whilst we waited for the strong sunlight to fade, we headed out with Kathryn, Chris and the bridesmaids.  The couple wanted relaxed and classical images which are elegant and beautiful and will stand the test of time.  These, plus the documentary shots of getting ready, the ceremony, confetti, speeches and first dance,  and the pretty details we captured, will make a stunning Italian storybook album for them to treasure.  Congratulations guys! We really appreciate you booking us for your Waterton Park wedding photography and we look forward to sharing all your images with you soon.

If you wish to share the images you are welcome to do so with our details on them. Copyright Alex & Janet Durasow 2015.

Waterton Park Wedding Photographer | Emma and Richard

As recommended Waterton Park wedding photographers, it was great to return to this pretty venue for Emma and Richard's celebrations.  Emma got ready there and we spent some time with her in the morning as she had her hair and make-up done.  Her dress was beautiful and she had a spectacular shower bouquet of purple orchids.  What really struck us about Emma was her stunning smile which shone all day long.  The joy in her face throughout the entire day was just lovely to see.

Richard arrived at the church just as we did, allowing us to photograph him and his attendants well before Emma's arrival with her dad and the start of the wedding photography at All Hallows', Kirkburton, our first time working at this church.  It's always a pleasure and something of a relief to work with vicars who are friendly and accommodating, and Emma and Richard's vicar was wonderful, bringing humour and personality to the ceremony, and allowing us, as a two photographer team, to document the proceedings from the front and from the back as the couple tied the knot.

Emma and Richard were keen to have a few of our more arty photographs and at our consultation around a month before the wedding, we'd seen an arched doorway at the church and this resulted in an idea for a spectacular bridal portrait, which was firmly planted in our minds and very much on our to do list.  We just hoped that the weather would play ball.  If anything, it was too sunny, and this creates its own challenges but it's definitely much better than the wet stuff!

After the confetti throwing at the church gate, we left to start the Waterton Park wedding photography, and Pauline, the wedding co-ordinator, was there to welcome the couple and their guests to a champagne reception on the island.  Emma and Richard had a few photos together until everyone had arrived, and we worked quickly through the group photos they had asked for, leaving some time for fun shots with the bridal party.  Our aim with these is to get a sequence of animated images with happy expressions for the couple's storybook, and we weren't disappointed!

As regular wedding photographers at Waterton Park, we know that there are some must have locations for bride and groom portraits, including the stone archway at the lakeside, so straight after the wedding breakfast we dashed out with Emma and Richard to make use of the last of the daylight for their romantic couple photo session, before the first dance and evening party in the Boathouse downstairs.

Our congratulations on your marriage and our sincere thanks for choosing us to share your big day.  We look forward to seeing you on your return from honeymoon.
