Wedding Photographers Rockliffe Hall | Helen and Chris's Wedding

We were delighted to be chosen by Helen and Chris as their Rockliffe Hall wedding photographers.  We love working at new venues and during our recce of this stunning hotel we knew we'd be spoilt for choice, with some great places both indoors and out.  On the day we were lucky that the weather held for us and allowed us to work outside at the locations we'd chosen for Rockliffe Hall wedding photographs before the wedding breakfast when we still had daylight, leaving the indoor portraits for the early evening.  We love it when we have a bubbly and fun bride, as enthusiastic about her photographs as Helen was.  With everything at one venue, we caught up with her and the girls, and the make-up artists, and Kevin, the hair stylist, in the bridal suite, as they painted faces and twirled hair.  Kevin is a very funny guy and he provided lots of giggles as we all worked, and he continued to make us laugh later on in Chris's room, as he gave our groom's hair its finishing touches.  The boys met up with us outside for their photographs, we allowed enough time to get back to Helen's room afterwards and it was lovely to watch two proud dads as they saw her in her spectacular Ian Stuart dress for the first time and then walk their beautiful daughter into the ceremony. Being a two photographer team means we can photograph the wedding ceremony from two different viewpoints and usually we both capture civil ceremonies from either side, at the front, but the perspective of the columns in Rockliffe Hall's orangery is so striking that we decided to photograph as we do in a church, with Alex at the front and Janet at the back, as Helen and Chris tied the knot.  Now it's fair to say that Chris wasn't quite as enthusiastic about being photographed as Helen was but he did admit that it wasn't anywhere near as bad as he'd feared.  Glad to hear that Chris! After the speeches Chris had a surprise for his bride and he really wanted a sequence of images which perfectly captured Helen's reactions as she unwrapped the fabulous Marilyn Monroe picture he'd bought for her.  We had a walk around this beautiful hotel and got some romantic couple shots and artistic bridal portraits for Helen and Chris's wedding album before first dance and party time. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Athey and thank you for letting us have the pleasure of sharing your wedding day and for looking after us so well. Such a fabulous couple who we loved working with, a cracking venue, wonderful guests and lots of fun.

Monk Fryston Hall Wedding Photographer | Fiona and Michael's Wedding

It's been a busy October with some great venues to work at and some lovely couples to work for and we were delighted when Fiona and Michael chose us to be their Monk Fryston Hall wedding photographers.  With everything at one venue we kicked off the day's coverage as Fiona was pampered in the bridal suite upstairs.  We then kept Michael and his attendants occupied for a while with photographs in the grounds  before it was time to catch up with Fiona again during those last few minutes of finishing touches and nerves before the ceremony.  She wore a gorgeous Ronald Joyce princess style dress and she looked stunning.  She also had two pairs of shoes but don't tell Michael!  The couple tied the knot in a civil ceremony before everyone headed out into the sunshine to celebrate. Sunshine!  That stuff that brides wish for and professional wedding photographers don't but wouldn't want to swap for the wet stuff given the choice! The light was very harsh so after the big group shot and confetti we changed location for the family groups to one where there was some shade, before we headed off down to the lakeside for some quiet time and some romantic portraits of the new Mr and Mrs Graham. Fiona's enthusiasm, her spectacular dress and long veil, great weather and a fantastic location meant that some artistic bridal portraits were on our list of images to create and capture before we returned our bride and groom to their guests and we photographed the room set for the wedding breakfast, as well as all those carefully and lovingly thought out details which make each wedding unique and special and which would otherwise be quickly forgotten.  With an early ceremony we still had plenty of daylight after the speeches were finished and once the sun had dropped we enjoyed a second bride and groom portrait session.  We had a brilliant time with Fiona and Michael, making the most of some the beautiful spots for Monk Fryston Hall wedding photography and capturing some gorgeous images for their wedding album.  Congratulations and a thank you guys for choosing us and for being such a fantastic couple who were a pleasure to work with.  We really enjoyed being a part of your celebrations.

Wedding Photographers for Nostell Priory | Kirsten and Stephen's Blessing

We were really happy when Kirsten and Stephen got in touch with us to enquire about our Nostell Priory wedding photography on what turned out to be a lovely, mild, autumn day.  As we always document the whole wedding day we made the trip to Kirsten's mum and stepdad's house near Huddersfield to capture the morning's preparations and we really enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere as the girls got ready.  Maid of honour, Claire, and the bridesmaids really deserve a mention as they were some of the most helpful we've ever worked with and they couldn't do enough to make sure that Kirsten and Stephen had a fabulous day and that we had all the assistance we needed throughout, including getting the group photos done quickly so that we could spend time with the couple.  When you get into autumn this is even more important as you know that there will be no daylight after the wedding breakfast and Claire did a brilliant job of getting people together for us. Kirsten's grandma had given her granddaughter a beautiful sapphire ring which represented both something old and something blue.  Our bride was ready and in her dress a few minutes before it was time for us to drive to the church, meet the boys and start the Wragby church wedding photography.  Stephen is Scottish so kilts were the dress code for the guys and like many men, our groom didn't find the prospect of being photographed particularly appealing but we think we won him over!  We captured the couple's blessing ceremony, which was full of laughter, from the front and the back of this pretty church, before they were pelted with confetti.  We made the short trip to the front of the main house for the group photo session and afterwards the guests left to enjoy the drinks reception in the rose garden and we had a few minutes photographing our stunning bride and groom alone. Then someone mentioned photographs by the lake.  Stephen was keen to get back to his guests but Kirsten really wanted those romantic images by the lakeside, knowing that this would be the only opportunity to get them.  Kirsten won and Stephen sacrificed a few canapés for those photographs but we hope they were well worth it!  After the wedding breakfast and speeches it was completely dark but we'd planned for some artistic photographs on the gallery.  There were no lights on the staircase which leads up to it and it was pitch black but Kirsten was an absolute star who wasn't put off and she and Stephen now have some beautiful images. Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Monaghan for inviting us to be your Nostell Priory wedding photographers.
