The sunny April weather continued for the wedding of Cheryl and Mark. As Nostell Priory wedding photographers, we know that this venue offers lots of great locations for photographs. Cheryl had decided against bridal prep shots, so we started with Mark's photographs at the venue, along with his best men and best lady, his sister Kate. With some time in hand and the marquee all set up as we arrived, we made the most of this opportunity to photograph the interior, along with lots of detail shots, saving precious time later. The arrival of Lauren, Cheryl's sister, meant that Cheryl and her dad weren't far behind, arriving soon afterwards in a classic Rolls Royce. The ceremony took place inside the house and we must thank the Pontefract registrars, as always, for their accommodating attitude in allowing us to capture some of those amazing moments as the couple exchanged vows and rings. We must also say how much we appreciated Ron, Cheryl's dad, including us in his thanks during his speech. We love having the longer daylight hours to work with as it gives us the opportunity to take the couple away for some time out and some romantic photographs together in the grounds. Cheryl and Mark agreed to spending some time with us down by the lake, getting some relaxed photographs before we headed back towards the house for a couple of arty bridal portraits on the stairs. With the current trend for all things vintage and Cheryl's beautiful dress being a vintage style, we decided on a bit of a vintage feel for some of the images. As always, we stayed to capture the first dance but when there is a band, we are happy to stay that bit longer to capture them as they are an important part of the wedding day. The Beatles tribute band were fantastic, had no trouble filling the dance floor and we think it's great when guests get up and party, making for some fabulous fun images which capture the atmosphere of the evening celebrations. Cheryl and Mark are now on honeymoon in New Zealand and we have loads of beautiful wedding photographs to show them on their return.

Family Photographers in Castleford - Ron and Luke
Luke came along recently to have to some photographs taken with his grandad, Ron. This family photography session was a gift from a friend of Ron's who thought that a gift voucher for a portrait sitting and photographs would make a lovely Christmas present. As Julia said, it's "to make memories for you". This was very thoughtful and what better gift could there be than capturing the affection between family members resulting in something that they will treasure? It was obvious how much Luke loves his grandad and how devoted Ron is to Luke. It was a privilege to work with them.
We offer gift certificates for portrait sessions and we are happy to personalise yours exactly to your requirements to make it the perfect gift for someone special. Why not call us on 01977 730159 and give someone you love something which will last a lifetime?

Family Photography West Yorkshire - Natalie, Mark and Liam
Natalie, Mark and their gorgeous little boy Liam came in for some family photographs recently. Natalie had brought a variety of clothes for Liam, ranging from baby grows, to shorts and a t shirt to jeans and another t shirt and Liam took it all in his stride and kept smiling throughout several wardrobe changes. Often this process results in a few tears or at least yells of objection, but not from Liam who remained as bright as a button for ages, as these lovely images show. As children's photographers in West Yorkshire, we have loads of patience and we do our very best to make our family and baby photo shoots a lot of fun. Liam was a joy to photograph and his mum and dad weren't bad either!

Engagement Portrait Photographer West Yorkshire - Zoe and Rob
As wedding photographers in West Yorkshire, we are very excited about sharing the Zoe and Rob's wedding day at the end of May. They are marrying in Ferrybridge before celebrating at The Kyte Hotel. We recently met up with the couple to discuss their ideas for their photography and they were keen to have an engagement portrait session, particularly as Rob, like most guys, is a bit camera shy. We like to think that we helped him relax and enjoy having some photographs taken and we certainly had a great time with this lovely couple. An engagement shoot is a brilliant way to get used to the camera before the wedding day and many couples choose their favourite image to be enlarged and framed with a signature mount. This makes a really nice alternative to a guest book, as the framed photograph, accompanied by all the messages your guests have written, can take pride of place on a wall in your home. Can't wait for Zoe and Rob's wedding!
Family Portrait Photography West Yorkshire - Kim, Grant, Olivia and Rosie
As family portrait photographers in West Yorkshire, we were very happy to see Kim and Grant and their daughters, Olivia and Rosie, when they came to have some photographs taken together. They all looked great in jeans and t shirts - perfect for the relaxed and informal photography style they wanted - and we loved the girls' tops with their summery yellow bows. We had loads of fun capturing the family, although it was a challenge keeping Rosie in one place for very long, as there were much more interesting things to be getting on with, like playing with her favourite Noah's Ark toy and all the animals. Kim and Grant also wanted some children's photographs of the girls together. Olivia, being older, was easy to work with but we had to find a way of keeping Rosie with her big sister for more than a nano second - something she wasn't too keen on! We suggested a bit of dancing might work and Olivia and Rosie were definitely up for that. Making children's photography a game and a lot of fun makes for great pictures and Olivia and Rosie were stars! A fantastic family and a fun photo shoot.

New Baby Photographer West Yorkshire - Emelia
We first met Craig and Caroline, Emelia's lovely mum and dad, when Craig was best man to Gareth and Melissa who's wedding we photographed at Oulton Hall in February. Emelia hadn't yet made an appearance but her arrival was expected within the following month and Craig and Caroline expressed an interest in having some new baby photographs taken as soon as possible after their baby was born. We were very excited when we got the call from Craig to tell us that he was a proud dad and soon afterwards, we welcomed the family for Emelia's first professional baby photo shoot. The ideal time for this is from birth to ten days old and we did just miss the boat with this, as the photographs were taken when Emelia was twelve days old. You can really see the difference once babies get past ten days - they sleep less, fidget more and refuse to be moulded into any shape other than the ones they prefer! However, we set aside plenty of time, got the studio warmer than usual and with lots of patience, we managed to get some beautiful shots when Emelia was awake and also when she cat napped. Such a gorgeous baby and a lovely family. We hope to have the pleasure of meeting Emelia for a second portrait session when she is sitting.
Wedding Photographer Yorkshire - Thank You Notes
We love our work as wedding photographers but it's so nice to hear that what we do is appreciated and we were delighted to receive not one, but two lovely messages from the same family recently. The first came from bride Becky Hammond who's wedding to Simon we photographed at Crow Hill last year and the second from Becky's sister, Laura.
"Morning Alex and Janet. Hope you're well. Well I managed not to tell my mum about the parent album. I gave it to her on Sunday (Mother's Day) and she was that surprised and overwhelmed she cried. She absolutely loves it and took it into work yesterday to show everyone. Simon's mum and dad also looked at theirs on Sunday and like everyone else that's seen it so far, they think it's fantastic. Can't wait to show the rest of the family now!! : ) Thank you very much for everything you did for us. Love Becky and Simon xx
"Hi Janet, thanks for the gorgeous album you put together for Bex and Si. We spent Mother's Day afternoon reliving the memories. It is so lovely. Whatever camera gear you guys have I want to steal it ; ) and then will need years and years of training of course : ) Lovely, lovely work from yourself and Alex. Once again, thank you from ALL the family for capturing a perfect day perfectly xx Laura Tyreman, Becky's sister

Wedding Photographer Hazlewood Castle - Charlotte and Chris
Hazlewood Castle on a beautiful spring day - stunning! As Yorkshire wedding photographers, it was fantastic to be there to share the celebrations as Charlotte and Chris tied the knot in a civil ceremony in the Old Dining Room but before that, we met up with a very relaxed and chilled out Charlotte as she got ready in the Tansy suite. We then kept Chris occupied getting a few shots around the grounds of Hazlewood before heading back upstairs in time to capture Charlotte's mum, Janice, lacing the back of her beautiful daughter's dress, before Charlotte's eldest son, Kurt, did the honours and accompanied his mum into the ceremony. After a whole week of lovely weather, we hoped that it would hold out for today and we weren't disappointed. Following the ceremony, the groups shots which the couple had requested were soon done and dusted, leaving us time to spend with the bridal party who were great fun to be with and definitely up for a laugh! After taking some pictures of Charlotte and Chris together, it was almost time to capture images of the Great Hall set up for the wedding breakfast. During the speeches, Charlotte paid a loving and very moving tribute to her new husband. We left everyone to enjoy dinner and during a wander around the grounds later, we were treated to a spectacular sunset. Charlotte and Chris joined us to make the most of it before the sun quickly disappeared below the horizon. Some beautiful evening shots in the courtyard followed before the couple took to the floor for their up tempo first dance to Florence and the Machine. A brilliant day and an amazing couple.
