Wedding Photographer Woodlands Hotel, Gildersome | Rebecca and Craig

Becky and Craig's wedding was our first of four in four days and we had said that it was extremely unlikely that we would be lucky enough to have four consecutive dry ones.  As it turned out, our day as Woodlands Hotel wedding photographers was an absolute scorcher!

Becky got ready in the penthouse suite at the venue, along with her bridesmaids and both mums.  She had chosen a beautiful vintage style lace dress and a gorgeous colour scheme of lilac, blue and ivory.  Craig and his boys met us exactly on time and already the temperature had soared, making the small area of shade close to some trees in the grounds a very welcome spot for some of their Woodlands Hotel wedding photographs

We returned to Becky a few minutes before the civil ceremony.  She had gotten dressed in the bathroom, out of sight, and it was lovely to capture the bridesmaids' and mums' expressions as she opened the door and they saw her in her wedding dress for the first time.

We'd had a chat with the Leeds registrars beforehand and they were fantastic, even suggesting that due to the lighting conditions in the civil ceremony room, that we may need to use flash and that they had no problem with us doing so.  A sincere thank you to them for being so accommodating.

Becky, Craig and all their guests came out to glorious sunshine and sweltering temperatures and the Champagne and Peroni must have gone down well!  We often wait until early evening during hot summer wedding days for certain photographs, particularly the more romantic and artistic images, because the couple are more relaxed, the light is softer, there is more time and it's a bit cooler.  However, when it comes to the family groups, it's best to get these in the bag as early as possible, so thanks guys for being good sports and for putting up with the heat!

The wedding car chauffeur who delivered Craig to the venue couldn't stay until after the ceremony,  so he had arranged with the couple to return in the early evening, after the wedding breakfast and speeches, so that they could have some photographs with the spectacular Rolls Royce Phantom.

As Leeds wedding photographers, it seems wrong to complain about the weather when you have such a glorious day, having to deal so often with the wet stuff, but we were glad when the sun had finally set and we could get some lovely bridal portraits and couple shots in an archway at the front of the venue.  We know that Becky and Craig were glad it had cooled down too!  When everyone could be persuaded to come back inside, the marquee was packed with a huge number of family and friends, ready to watch Mr and Mrs Fawcett dance their first dance to Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Thank you for booking us to be your wedding photographers.  We hope you love the images.  If you were a guest at this wedding, please feel free to leave a comment.  If you'd like to follow us on Facebook, we would be delighted, and you are very welcome to share the images provided our details always remain on them.  Enjoy!
