We met Jess and James at a wedding fair way back in 2013 when they were newly engaged but had yet to choose a wedding venue and set a date. We were really happy to hear that we had made such a good impression at that first meeting that they had kept our details and they got in touch when their date was finalised, to book us for their Bagden Hall wedding photography. After some challenging weather recently, this lovely couple got lucky with a beautiful summer's day, meaning everyone could be outside and enjoy the stunning surroundings that Bagden Hall has to offer. They had arranged for a barbecue on the terrace in the evening and usually just mentioning the word "barbecue" puts a jinx on the weather, but thankfully not today. The girls got ready in a huge room upstairs and after we'd taken the photographs of Jess being pampered, her dress and accessories, including a pair of bright blue shoes, we met up with James and the boys for their photographs during which their monkey socks made an appearance for some fun shots. We returned to Jess for those final photographs before her entrance into the ceremony and as she reached James's side you could see the emotion in his face. We had generous timings to work with and plenty of help with the organisation of the group photo session, meaning there was time for some bride and groom portraits before we left the new Mr and Mrs Gent to relax and mingle whilst we photographed the Orchard Suite dressed for the wedding breakfast. The room looked incredible, with gorgeous ambient lighting, a sparkle backdrop behind the top table and the beautiful colour scheme they had chosen. Summer weddings are wonderful because the longer daylight hours mean the wedding day and the photography are much more relaxed and it doesn't have to be crammed into a short timescale before you lose daylight, but sometimes the sun is really harsh, which creates shadows and split lighting, so we chose the locations to use for Bagden Hall wedding photographs during this time and then waited until after the sun had gone down for the rest. Thank you guys for booking us to capture your wedding. We had a truly fabulous day in your wonderful company. Huge congratulations!
