Hazlewood Castle Wedding Photographer | Samantha and Matt's Wedding

Sam and Matt booked us to be their Hazlewood Castle wedding photographers for New Year's Eve 2018 and they paid us a massive compliment by choosing us over two years before their big day. During all that time we've been looking forward to capturing their celebrations at this lovely venue. They'd told us that their photographs were really important, which is what we love to hear.  We arrived at the Elderflower Suite to a warm welcome from Sam and there was lots of activity and plenty to photograph. Sam's a talented lady; she handmade all the bouquets and the buttonholes from silk flowers and brooches.  So, with a fabulous couple and a great venue, all the remained was the hope of decent weather and we got very lucky; it was dry, not too cold and the light was perfect, giving Sam and Matt their wish for as many photographs as possible to be taken outside. Sam's brother gave her away and emotions got the better of both he and Matt as Sam reached Matt's side at the start of the ceremony in the Old Dining Room, in our opinion the best civil ceremony room for Hazlewood Castle wedding photographs as its big windows let in plenty of natural light.  The wedding had a winter theme and the couple chose fake snow as confetti, with everyone joining in with loads of enthusiasm.  Sam gave in to the chill for only a few minutes whilst we took photographs at the front of the castle, which was where a blue, full length cape came in, but this soon came off again in favour of showing off her beautiful, elegant wedding dress.  We were delighted to get lots of photos for the couple before the speeches and the wedding breakfast got underway in the Great Hall and the icing on the cake were some gorgeous twilight photos at that perfect time, made possible only because Mr and Mrs Emms were willing to leave their wedding breakfast for a few minutes to nip outside. It gives us loads of pleasure when we can capture something so beautiful for a couple.  There were a handful of groups, a professional singer, the first dance and party time to document before we could leave for home, open a bottle of Prosecco and welcome in 2019.  Our grateful thanks Sam and Matt for giving us the absolute privilege of photographing your cracking New Year's Eve wedding. Congratulations guys!

Oulton Hall Wedding Photographers | Laura and James's Wedding

Laura and James booked us as their Oulton Hall wedding photographers for their big day between Christmas and New Year and we were really looking forward to capturing their celebrations at this spectacular venue, where we always love working. It's a Leeds wedding photographer's paradise with so many opportunities for beautiful wedding pictures, plus we're on the venue's recommended supplier list and we always receive a warm welcome.  With all the wedding photography at Oulton Hall we began with Laura getting ready in one of the spacious suites. Her dress was absolutely gorgeous, as were her flowers, and they were made of paper! James looked really smart in a tweed suit, with he and his party sporting stripy socks, a perfect opportunity for some fun pictures. The couple tied the knot in the opulent Repton Room with its spectacular chandeliers and we did capture a nervous James looking at his phone to check the time as he waited for Laura's entrance with her dad. We got to work alongside Abigail Grace Videography for the first time and it was lovely to spend the day with her. The weather forecast is always a big topic of conversation the bride or the groom raises and we always advise that they not listen to it. The forecast for Laura and James's big day was for no rain whatsoever, none, staying dry and mild all day, the weather bods said.  So when we went outside straight after the ceremony and it was raining it was a bit of a disappointment, but as everyone was already outside or on their way out, we went ahead with the big group and confetti photos. Laura wasn't at all phased by the weather and if the bride's happy we don't care about getting soggy! After the groups in the Repton Lounge we took Laura and James for photos at the main hotel entrance which is under cover and then the rain stopped, allowing for some lovely shots in the grounds. Laura very much wanted some pictures featuring the impressive Christmas tree in the lounge and after the wedding breakfast we had a fabulous time with this lovely couple getting some shots on the gallery, and in the orangery with its black and white tiles, both wonderful places for photographs. Many thanks Mr and Mrs Pfluger for choosing us to share your celebrations. We had the best day. Congratulations!
