Carolyn and Rob are close friends of Karen and Kevin, whose wedding we photographed last autumn at Gomersal Park Hotel and where the couple were guests. Karen told us that she had recommended us to Carolyn and Rob to be their Healds Hall wedding photographers and it was fantastic when we got the call from Carolyn, hoping that we were still available. We'd planned a trip to London for a short break the week before, likely our last time off before the end of the wedding season, and we deliberately chose dates that would keep the weekend free, just in case a late booking came in. That late booking turned out to be Carolyn and Rob's and we were really happy we'd kept that Saturday available, just in case! We spent some time at the couple's home before heading off to start the Healds Hall, Liversedge wedding photography and it was probably the quietest, most tranquil bridal preparations we've ever been part of. With no bridesmaids, it was just Carolyn, her make-up artist and hair stylist, until Matthew, Carolyn's son who had travelled from Canada, made an appearance ready to accompany his mum to the venue in a spectacular metallic blue American classic car. The weather held for long enough to get photographs of Rob and his best man, Kevin, then it rained as Carolyn arrived, then stopped for almost long enough for us to complete the family groups after the ceremony, except for the big group and confetti throwing, which we delayed until after dinner. The ceremony was made even more special, as Jenna, Rob's niece, sang as the guests were seated and during a very nervous bride's entrance. What a beautiful voice Jenna has! The weather has given us the run around a lot this year, but working for brides and grooms who take it all in their stride and having those very welcome longer daylight hours makes it easier. The couple were incredibly lovely to be around and we couldn't wait to catch up with them after the wedding breakfast and speeches. Talking of speeches, Kevin's was brilliant - original, heartfelt and if you're not sure how funny you were Kevin, take a look at the photos! As we'd hoped, the weather cleared and a quick announcement had everyone outside so that we could complete the groups, capture Carolyn and Rob being showered with confetti and then have them to ourselves for a short while before the evening party. Carolyn had mentioned that she loves the staircase at Healds Hall, so some photographs there were on our to do list. She looked gorgeous! Mr and Mrs Shingleton, it was an absolute pleasure to share your wedding day. Thank you so much for booking us and for your kind words and appreciation shown to us. Congratulations!
We would love you to share the images on social media. If you do so please remember that our details must not be cropped. Thank you.
