Wedding Photographers for Nostell Priory | Kirsten and Stephen's Blessing

We were really happy when Kirsten and Stephen got in touch with us to enquire about our Nostell Priory wedding photography on what turned out to be a lovely, mild, autumn day.  As we always document the whole wedding day we made the trip to Kirsten's mum and stepdad's house near Huddersfield to capture the morning's preparations and we really enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere as the girls got ready.  Maid of honour, Claire, and the bridesmaids really deserve a mention as they were some of the most helpful we've ever worked with and they couldn't do enough to make sure that Kirsten and Stephen had a fabulous day and that we had all the assistance we needed throughout, including getting the group photos done quickly so that we could spend time with the couple.  When you get into autumn this is even more important as you know that there will be no daylight after the wedding breakfast and Claire did a brilliant job of getting people together for us. Kirsten's grandma had given her granddaughter a beautiful sapphire ring which represented both something old and something blue.  Our bride was ready and in her dress a few minutes before it was time for us to drive to the church, meet the boys and start the Wragby church wedding photography.  Stephen is Scottish so kilts were the dress code for the guys and like many men, our groom didn't find the prospect of being photographed particularly appealing but we think we won him over!  We captured the couple's blessing ceremony, which was full of laughter, from the front and the back of this pretty church, before they were pelted with confetti.  We made the short trip to the front of the main house for the group photo session and afterwards the guests left to enjoy the drinks reception in the rose garden and we had a few minutes photographing our stunning bride and groom alone. Then someone mentioned photographs by the lake.  Stephen was keen to get back to his guests but Kirsten really wanted those romantic images by the lakeside, knowing that this would be the only opportunity to get them.  Kirsten won and Stephen sacrificed a few canapés for those photographs but we hope they were well worth it!  After the wedding breakfast and speeches it was completely dark but we'd planned for some artistic photographs on the gallery.  There were no lights on the staircase which leads up to it and it was pitch black but Kirsten was an absolute star who wasn't put off and she and Stephen now have some beautiful images. Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Monaghan for inviting us to be your Nostell Priory wedding photographers.

Wedding Photographer Nostell Priory | Claire and Andy's Wedding

It was a pleasure to return as Nostell Priory wedding photographers to capture Claire and Andy's celebrations as they tied the knot in a civil ceremony in the main house before making the walk to the recently refurbished building which had originally been the stable block and which is now a lovely reception venue.  Before the Nostell Priory wedding photography started, we dropped in on the girls as they got ready in the Gamekeeper's Cottage at Waterton Park Hotel.  Claire has chosen a fabulous princess style dress and a gorgeous colour scheme of deep blue, accented by bright yellow.  She and her bridesmaids were very much up for a giggle and we knew that we'd have a brilliant day in their company. We caught up with Andy and the boys outside the house and managed to persuade the couple's son, Tyler-Jake, to allow dad a cuddle so we could capture a few lovely images of father and son, and then the bridesmaids arrived slightly ahead of Claire and her dad, giving us just enough time to photograph them before Claire's car appeared on the drive and the registrars came down to meet her.  The weather was about as perfect as any bride and groom could wish for and after the big group photo of everyone, and some car shots,  the guests were invited into the rose garden to enjoy the drinks reception, confetti throwing and beautiful weather.  With generous time factored in, we got the group photos done and still had time to steal Claire and Andy and take them back to the main house for some uninterrupted photographs together before the wedding breakfast. The room looked vibrant and summery dressed in yellow and we're sure the alcoholic favours went down a treat! After the speeches we created some images on the gallery before going outside into the early evening sunshine.  We love this time of year because even though you can never guarantee good weather, even in summer, the long daylight hours bring with them the chance to get outside again well before it falls dark and make the most of the locations venues have to offer.  After some fun with the bridal party we went down to the lakeside for Mr and Mrs Pollington's evening portrait session.  Claire made us laugh as she insisted on ditching her Vivienne Westwood shoes and making the trip barefoot!  Just a short time and some stunning images later, we returned this lovely couple back to their wedding guests, their first dance and their evening party.  Thank you very much for choosing us.   We can't wait to design an album for you which is going to be spectacular!

Nostell Priory Wedding Photography - Cheryl and Mark

The sunny April weather continued for the wedding of Cheryl and Mark.  As Nostell Priory wedding photographers, we know that this venue offers lots of great locations for photographs.  Cheryl had decided against bridal prep shots, so we started with Mark's photographs at the venue, along with his best men and best lady, his sister Kate.  With some time in hand and the marquee all set up as we arrived, we made the most of this opportunity to photograph the interior, along with lots of detail shots, saving precious time later.  The arrival of Lauren, Cheryl's sister, meant that Cheryl and her dad weren't far behind, arriving soon afterwards in a classic Rolls Royce.  The ceremony took place inside the house and we must thank the Pontefract registrars, as always, for their accommodating attitude in allowing us to capture some of those amazing moments as the couple exchanged vows and rings.  We must also say how much we appreciated Ron, Cheryl's dad, including us in his thanks during his speech.  We love having the longer daylight hours to work with as it gives us the opportunity to take the couple away for some time out and some romantic photographs together in the grounds.  Cheryl and Mark agreed to spending some time with us down by the lake, getting some relaxed photographs before we headed back towards the house for a  couple of arty bridal portraits on the stairs.  With the current trend for all things vintage and Cheryl's beautiful dress being a vintage style, we decided on a bit of a vintage feel for some of the images.  As always, we stayed to capture the first dance but when there is a band, we are happy to stay that bit longer to capture them as they are an important part of the wedding day.   The Beatles tribute band were fantastic, had no trouble filling the dance floor and we think it's great when guests get up and party, making for some fabulous fun images which capture the atmosphere of the evening celebrations.  Cheryl and Mark are now on honeymoon in New Zealand and we have loads of beautiful wedding photographs to show them on their return.
