Hazlewood Castle Wedding Photographer

Helen and David's wedding at Sprotbrough Church and Hazlewood Castle

Today we photographed our last wedding of the 2009 season for Helen and David at the picturesque church of St Mary's in Sprotbrough. We started the day at Helen's parents' house just a short journey from the church to capture some shots as Helen got ready for the ceremony with her bridesmaids, Lucinda and Gemma, who were great and really took care of Helen. Our next stop was at the church, where we met up with David and his attendants for their photographs. Thankfully, the predicted heavy rain didn't make an appearance - in fact, for December, the weather was pretty good and it meant that we could take the majority of the photographs outside. With no photography allowed by the vicar during the ceremony, we had previously arranged that we'd take Helen and David back inside afterwards so that they could have a few photographs inside the church. With the group photographs of the couple and their parents taken care of, we left for the reception at Hazlewood Castle where we made the most of the fading daylight for photographs around the venue. Our last shots were of the Great Hall dressed up ready for the wedding breakfast and photographs of Helen and David cutting the cake. With an unusually early finish to our coverage, we said goodbye to our lovely couple and to our 2009 wedding season. Thank you for choosing us to share your special day.

Carlton Towers Wedding Photographer

Lindsay and Iain's wedding at Carlton Towers on 7 November 2009

Lindsay and Iain married in a civil ceremony at the breathtaking location of Carlton Towers near Snaith on a bright and sunny November day. We met Lindsay and her bridesmaids as they prepared for the ceremony and we took photographs of Lindsay's stunning Pronovias lace gown and beautiful accessories before leaving her to meet Iain and his attendants. A familiar, friendly face and a wonderful warm welcome came from Rosalyn, the registrar, who we know very well from working around the Pontefract area but who had the privilege of conducting the marriage ceremony for Lindsay and Iain at their special request, as she and her family are very close to the couple. She made the ceremony so personal and it was fantastic for us too, as we were allowed to capture some lovely moments for Linday and Iain to treasure. Thank you Rosalyn - it's always such a pleasure to work with you! Following the ceremony, it was outside for the group photographs, couple shots and confetti and the sun continued to shine. We were back inside a few minutes before the start of the wedding breakfast to capture images of the fabulous room all dressed in it's spectacular red and white colour scheme. The weather took a turn for the worst during dinner, so after the speeches we spent some time up on the gallery taking photographs of Lindsay and Iain before they took to the floor for their first dance to Lovely Day by Bill Withers. The finale to the couple's amazing day was a firework display and as it was still raining, they sheltered under a white umbrella to watch them. Thank you Lindsay and Iain for inviting us to share your special day at your gorgeous venue.

Hazlewood Castle Wedding Photographer

Gemma and Scott's wedding at Hazlewood Castle on 18 September 2009

Back at the beautiful location of Hazlewood Castle today for Gemma and Scott's big day. The couple married in a very informal civil ceremony in the Victoria room before separating again to prepare for their blessing in St Leonard's chapel, conducted by the wonderful Ian Walton who never disappoints when it comes to photography - what a lovely man he is! After the ceremony and with generous timings to play with, friendly guests and attendants who were up for fun, we managed to fit a lot into the time we had. Gemma and Scott had given us free rein to be as creative as we wanted when it came to their photographs and we had a brilliant time in their company. After the wedding breakfast and speeches, we took advantage of that very short period of time just before it gets dark to take some stunning evening shots of the couple in the courtyard. The sky in the images becomes an inky blue rather than black and the result is just gorgeous. Thank you Gemma and Scott for choosing us to share your special day.

Amanda and Liam's wedding at Wood Hall - 6 August 2009

Today we were at the stunning location of Wood Hall near Wetherby for Amanda and Liam's wedding. After joining Amanda for her preparations, we then moved on to meet Liam and his attendants for theirs. The style of the photographs reflects the style of the day - relaxed and very informal. Amanda and Liam's wedding day was about tying the knot and then enjoying the company of family and friends. The couple had employed the services of Charmaine Thompson and John Turner of CnJ Weddings - http://www.cnjweddings.co.uk/ - who did a fantastic job of helping Amanda and Liam source suppliers and plan for their big day. Perfect weather kept everyone outside enjoying the sunshine and the superb entertainment from a caricaturist and a magician. Liam's best man, Craig gave a hilarious speech and afterwards, he joined up with Alex for some skipping outside! We rounded off the photography with a group first dance in which Liam invited everyone to join him and Amanda on the dance floor. Thank you Amanda and Liam for choosing us to photograph your fun, informal wedding.

Claire and Dan's wedding at St Andrew's church, Ferrybridge and the Hotel St Pierre - 1 August 2009

Claire and Dan married at St Andrew's church in Ferrybridge. Their lovely vicar allowed us to capture images from their ceremony and even helped us to organise the big group shot of everyone inside the church afterwards, as rain prevented this from being taken outside. After the ceremony and some very impressive confetti throwing, it was off to Queen's Park in Castleford for Claire and Dan's photographs with their beautiful car and as the whole bridal party joined us, this was a brilliant opportunity to get some fun shots. Claire looked beautiful and the gorgeous colour scheme she chose looks fantastic in the photographs (was it fuchsia pink or raspberry?!) After everyone else left to head off to the Hotel St Pierre in Newmillerdam for the reception, we were left alone with Claire and Dan for a while and we made the most of this time to create some romantic images for them. After dinner and speeches, it was off to the lakeside at Newmillerdam for some special couple photographs and bridal portraits. This had been planned weeks before but on the wedding day, the weather wasn't good. However, these images were really important to Claire who wasn't going to be put off, changing into her comfy flip-flips for the walk along the path to our chosen spot beside the lake where we were joined by a few very puzzled ducks! Claire and Dan - you were absolute stars and we hope that the images we got were well worth getting soggy feet for! The finale to this great couple's fun wedding day was a fantastic first dance routine which they choreographed themselves. Everyone was well impressed - us included! Thank you Claire and Dan for inviting us to share your fun filled day!

Sharon & Kelvin's wedding at the King's Croft Hotel - 17 July 2009

Sharon and Kelvin married at the King's Croft Hotel in Pontefract on a very rainy Friday. However, the weather didn't dampen anyone's spirits and although we were forced to stay indoors for most of the day, everyone had a fantastic time. After the ceremony, the couple celebrated with their family and friends and following the wedding breakfast and speeches, we spent some time in the bridal suite taking a few romantic photographs of Sharon and Kelvin together. In the evening, Sharon surprised Kelvin with a casino which went down a treat with the adult guests. Thank you Sharon and Kelvin for inviting us to share your special day.

Caroline and Gary's wedding at Hunslet Methodist Church and Rogerthorpe Manor - 2 May 2009

Caroline and Gary married at Hunslet Methodist Church in Leeds followed by a reception at the beautiful Rogerthorpe Manor in Badsworth near Pontefract. This venue is one of our favourites and it has a fantastic location for an aeriel shot of all the wedding guests - all you need is good weather, which we enjoyed all day and this meant that we were able to make the most of the lovely grounds for Caroline and Gary's pictures. The day was relaxed and fun and the couple just went with the flow and with our suggestions for photographs for them. Caroline's mum, Enid gave us a lovely compliment when she said "Although we knew you were there, we didn't know you were there." Thank you Enid, we are very flattered and thank you very much to Caroline and Gary and to your lovely families - it was a joy to share your special day and we look forward to seeing you on your return from honeymoon.

Claire and Glenn's wedding at Hazlewood Castle - 17 and 18 April 2009

Claire and Glenn extended their wedding celebrations by marrying in a quiet civil ceremony at Hazlewood Castle on Friday, followed by a religious blessing in the beautiful chapel of St Leonard's on Saturday, surrounded by their family and friends. Again the blessing was conducted by Ian Walton who made sure that we were able to capture the memories of the ceremony for Claire and Glenn to enjoy for years to come. Thank you so much Ian. A two day wedding meant that Claire was able to wear not just one, but two gorgeous dresses. However, Glenn did make his own dramatic entrance - arriving by helicopter! The stunning backdrops of Hazlewood Castle are a photographer's dream and the happy and relaxed natures of Claire and Glenn made them a joy to work with. The couple are on honeymoon in Las Vegas. We look forward to seeing you on your return.
