Wood Hall Wedding Photography | Kimberley and Gary

Kimberley and Gary gave us the biggest compliment you could ever hope to receive as a Wood Hall wedding photographer or any wedding photographer for that matter.  They changed their wedding date to book us.  We were overwhelmed by this and absolutely over the moon to provide their Wood Hall wedding photography.  We always try to avoid hearing or discussing the weather forecast for any wedding day as it's the one thing that no one can do anything about, but we have to admit that as the date drew closer it was very hard not to think about it, particularly as it had been a scorcher on the day Kim and Gary had originally booked, and the last thing we wanted was for it to be a disappointment on their wedding day.  It turned out to be wonderful weather, not too hot but warm and sunny and the wet stuff stayed firmly away for the whole day.  What a huge relief that was!   Kim got ready at home, which is just a short walk from St Andrew's church in Kirby Malzeard, and after capturing some of the morning's preparations, we met up with Gary to keep him busy ahead of his bride's arrival.  Kim and her dad arrived in a VW camper van, very much in keeping with the vintage theme of the wedding.  After the ceremony the newly married Mr and Mrs Breckon were whisked off to Wood Hall in the camper van and the weather and great co-operation from everyone meant a smooth and quick group photo session.  The Vavasour Suite looked beautiful and the couple had put a lot of effort into placing their own unique stamp on things, with the table decorations and place cards hand made by Kim. We knew that photographs in the Italian gardens were a high priority for her and after the speeches this lovely couple were more than happy to spend some time there whilst we captured some romantic images for them.  Kim said she felt very nervous about being photographed but you wouldn't know it from these stunning images of a gorgeous bride. We really can't thank you both enough for going to all the trouble you did just to have us as your Wood Hall wedding photographers and we will always remember the story of how that came to be.  You were absolute stars and a pleasure to spend the day with.  Your album is going to be amazing!

Wedding Photographer Wood Hall | Jade and Jonathan's Wedding

Jade and Jonathan booked us to be their Wood Hall wedding photographers after seeing the Leeds wedding photography that we did for a friend of theirs.  We love it when people tell us they found us through a recommendation.  We were truly spoilt with three beautiful venues, a gorgeous couple and weather which wasn't too bad, just a bit windy.  We started the wedding photography at Oulton Hall where Jade got ready with her bridesmaids; a lovely venue and a spacious suite in which to capture this exciting part of a wedding day and to photograph her dress and accessories.  Jade was determined to be fully ready before we had to leave to meet Jonny and his guys and start the Holy Trinity Church, Rothwell wedding photography and we were really happy to be able to photograph our bride coming down the stairs and get a couple of portraits at the front door before we had to dash.  After a really enjoyable photo session with the boys at the church we were ready and waiting for Jade to arrive with her proud dad.  Sheena conducted the ceremony and kindly allowed photographs from the front and the back, the weather stayed dry, the couple were pelted with confetti at the church gate and everyone headed off to celebrate at Wood Hall Hotel & Spa. With the group photos and a few couple shots in the bag, Jade and Jonny enjoyed a drink and a mingle and we photographed the Vavasour Suite which looked spectacular dressed in pink.  The speeches were hilarious and emotional, just how we like them, and an early ceremony in summer meant we had loads of daylight left after the wedding breakfast for our favourite part of a wedding day, the romantic bride and groom session, where things slow down and are less hectic, and we can spend some time taking our signature fine art wedding portraits.  We did a bit of a detour first though, as some fun shots with their bridal party were very much on Jade and Jonny's agenda.  We had such a great time with the new Mr and Mrs Clayton and got some stunning images for their wedding album.  A fabulous couple, so easy to work with and a joy to photograph.  Thank you so much for choosing us to share your wonderful day.  If you would like to feature the images from our blog on your Facebook page you are welcome to do so, keeping our details on them, and we look forward to sharing the complete image collection with you soon.

Amanda and Liam's wedding at Wood Hall - 6 August 2009

Today we were at the stunning location of Wood Hall near Wetherby for Amanda and Liam's wedding. After joining Amanda for her preparations, we then moved on to meet Liam and his attendants for theirs. The style of the photographs reflects the style of the day - relaxed and very informal. Amanda and Liam's wedding day was about tying the knot and then enjoying the company of family and friends. The couple had employed the services of Charmaine Thompson and John Turner of CnJ Weddings - http://www.cnjweddings.co.uk/ - who did a fantastic job of helping Amanda and Liam source suppliers and plan for their big day. Perfect weather kept everyone outside enjoying the sunshine and the superb entertainment from a caricaturist and a magician. Liam's best man, Craig gave a hilarious speech and afterwards, he joined up with Alex for some skipping outside! We rounded off the photography with a group first dance in which Liam invited everyone to join him and Amanda on the dance floor. Thank you Amanda and Liam for choosing us to photograph your fun, informal wedding.

Master Photographers Association Print Competition - 8 June 2009

The Master Photographers Association held their annual print competition and award ceremony on Monday, 8 June 2009. The competition was judged to a very high standard by John Parris FMPA and there were 229 entries into the various categories. The Classical Wedding category always attracts one of the highest numbers of entries and it is very difficult to secure an award in this particular category as competition is always fierce. Therefore, Janet was delighted to win a Merit award in the Classical Wedding category. John described the image as a great capture with fantastic expressions showing everyone having a good time. Our thanks must go to Kathryn and Stephen Boyes, the couple in the image, for choosing us as their photographers and for being such a joy to work with. Kathryn's beautiful smile shone all day long and we had a wonderful day with her, Stephen and their family and friends.
