Wedding Photographer Wentbridge House | Rachel and Gareth's Wedding

A third visit in as many months as a Wentbridge House wedding photographer, this time for Rachel and Gareth, who have been so enthusiastic about us capturing their special day, and we were really excited about working with them. Rachel wanted an October wedding because she loves the autumn and the colours that go with it, choosing an autumnal theme for everything from the details on the tables in the Crystal Suite, to the exquisite cake by the incredibly talented Karen, the Vintage Cake Fairy.  The couple wanted their Wentbridge House wedding photography to be as relaxed and fun as possible, to reflect their personalities. After the bridal prep photos, we arrived at the venue to photograph Gareth and his party, ahead of Rachel and her dad's arrival.  She had given us a challenge to capture her bridesmaids' reactions on seeing her for the first time, as they weren't going to get a glimpse of her in her wedding dress until she arrived at Wentbridge House.  Reactions are always unpredictable but we hope we've done you proud Mrs Peters! Wentbridge House has an immaculate lawn which looked stunning sprinkled with fallen leaves, but it was blowing a gale, there had been a lot of rain and the grass was soaking, so we thought everyone would welcome the chance to stay inside for as long as possible and have the majority of the group photos taken indoors. Now coaxing guests away from the bar can be a challenge, and we knew that the daylight up to the start of the wedding breakfast was all we were going to get, which is why Gareth's dad deserves a big thank you for his help in persuading everyone to leave the bar and join the couple for photos at the only suitable location, on the other side of the hotel.  With a big group photo, confetti pictures and bridal party fun shots requested, everyone had no choice but to come outside for those but we heard no complaints!  We then had just a short window of opportunity to work with Rachel and Gareth in daylight before the call through for the wedding breakfast, and if Rachel was cold she hid it well!  The timing of the speeches couldn't have worked better, as they ended with just enough time left for us to set up outside and capture the twilight, with the bonus that the wind had subsided and for the first time Rachel's gorgeous lace dress could be displayed at its best.  In the evening we sneaked away for a short couple photo session in the warmth of the hotel before the couple played Mr and Mrs and did their first dance.  We are very grateful that you guys chose us to share your beautiful wedding.  Thank you for taking the weather in your stride, for laughing all day and for making our job such a pleasure.  Congratulations!

Wentbridge House Wedding Photographers | Emma and Rob

After quite a long break from working at Emma and Rob's venue, theirs was our second of three visits this year and it was lovely to be back as Wentbridge House wedding photographers for a gorgeous couple who were fabulous to work with.  It was a breeze to get great pictures of these two, as Emma looked stunning and Rob scrubbed up quite well too, plus he just went along with whatever we suggested - perfect!  We caught up with the girls as they got ready and we captured some lovely bridal details to remind Emma in years to come what shoes, jewellery and perfume she wore, and then we went outside to play with the lads for a while.  The only fly in the ointment was the drizzle, which threatened to put paid to Emma's much wanted and planned for outdoor wedding. The venue staff have the unenviable task of having to make a decision as to whether to move the ceremony indoors, and when you have intermittent drizzle it can be difficult to know what to do for the best, but Emma asked for the decision to be made right at the very last minute, which turned out to be a good move as the drizzle stopped just in time, allowing a delighted bride her wish, to tie the knot in the temple on the lawn.  The rain stayed away for the rest of the day and because all the guests were already outside and with fantastic help from members of the bridal party in gathering people together, we breezed through the group photos, with time to spare for fun shots and some couple portraits before dinner. After the speeches we took Emma and Rob outside for their romantic Wentbridge House wedding photography session, including some lovely shots on the bridge just outside the venue.  The couple had the traditional wood panelled bridal suite and photographs in there have a beautiful warmth to them, perfect as an ending to their wedding album. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Kirk and a massive thank you for booking us to capture your wonderful wedding day.  It was an absolute pleasure to share it and we are over the moon that you got your outdoor ceremony!
