A third visit in as many months as a Wentbridge House wedding photographer, this time for Rachel and Gareth, who have been so enthusiastic about us capturing their special day, and we were really excited about working with them. Rachel wanted an October wedding because she loves the autumn and the colours that go with it, choosing an autumnal theme for everything from the details on the tables in the Crystal Suite, to the exquisite cake by the incredibly talented Karen, the Vintage Cake Fairy. The couple wanted their Wentbridge House wedding photography to be as relaxed and fun as possible, to reflect their personalities. After the bridal prep photos, we arrived at the venue to photograph Gareth and his party, ahead of Rachel and her dad's arrival. She had given us a challenge to capture her bridesmaids' reactions on seeing her for the first time, as they weren't going to get a glimpse of her in her wedding dress until she arrived at Wentbridge House. Reactions are always unpredictable but we hope we've done you proud Mrs Peters! Wentbridge House has an immaculate lawn which looked stunning sprinkled with fallen leaves, but it was blowing a gale, there had been a lot of rain and the grass was soaking, so we thought everyone would welcome the chance to stay inside for as long as possible and have the majority of the group photos taken indoors. Now coaxing guests away from the bar can be a challenge, and we knew that the daylight up to the start of the wedding breakfast was all we were going to get, which is why Gareth's dad deserves a big thank you for his help in persuading everyone to leave the bar and join the couple for photos at the only suitable location, on the other side of the hotel. With a big group photo, confetti pictures and bridal party fun shots requested, everyone had no choice but to come outside for those but we heard no complaints! We then had just a short window of opportunity to work with Rachel and Gareth in daylight before the call through for the wedding breakfast, and if Rachel was cold she hid it well! The timing of the speeches couldn't have worked better, as they ended with just enough time left for us to set up outside and capture the twilight, with the bonus that the wind had subsided and for the first time Rachel's gorgeous lace dress could be displayed at its best. In the evening we sneaked away for a short couple photo session in the warmth of the hotel before the couple played Mr and Mrs and did their first dance. We are very grateful that you guys chose us to share your beautiful wedding. Thank you for taking the weather in your stride, for laughing all day and for making our job such a pleasure. Wedding Photography at Wentbridge House | Victoria and Jack's Wedding
As soon as we met Victoria and Jack we were so excited at the prospect of being their Wentbridge House wedding photographers and we knew it would be a fantastic day with a lovely, happy, easy to get along with couple and their equally lovely families. During our final meeting to chat about the couple's plans for the day, Victoria told us that she was really keen for us to capture photographs of her dad's reaction as he saw her in her stunning Pronovias dress for the first time, and having got to know what a devoted father Graeme is, we were pretty sure of some priceless moments. It took some working of the plans and the timeline to make everything fall into place, beginning our coverage with an earlier start on the wedding photography at Wentbridge House as the girls got ready, followed by photographs with the lads at Wentbridge church, back to Wentbridge House for final preparations, including Victoria's mum fixing the veil into her daughter's hair, the veil Mandy had worn to her own wedding thirty years ago, and of course those beautiful moments with an emotional bride and her dad, before we dashed back to church for the ceremony. The weather forecast was for thunder storms and we heard the first rumble just as the couple were about the exit the church. We got the confetti shots done by the skin of our teeth before a torrential downpour hit as we headed back down the lane to Wentbridge House. Feeling reasonably optimistic that the weather would improve, the decision was taken to wait it out rather than starting group photos inside and although this compromised our time somewhat, it turned out to be a good call because after about fifteen minutes the rain eased and the sun came out. This wedding was full of emotion and precious moments to capture, including those during the speeches when Jack broke the news of a honeymoon in Kenya to his ecstatic bride. The long hours of daylight at this time of year are very welcome and after the wedding breakfast we had fun with the bridal party and the lads smoking cigars before finally getting to enjoy some quiet time alone with Victoria and Jack for their evening bride and groom photo session. A huge thank you to you both for choosing us to share your gorgeous wedding day and for your amazing review which took our breath away. We wish you both an exciting and very happy future together.
