It's always a great feeling when a couple choose us to be their Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers or anywhere they want us to work for that matter, and over the years we've found similarities between the brides and grooms who book us, like Sally and Andy, who placed a lot of value on their wedding photography, wanted classy, elegant pictures and where attention to detail was really important. We got on like a house on fire and we felt so valued that it was easy to go the extra mile for them. It's hard to imagine a couple more complimentary about our work and they were awesome, so enthusiastic about everything we suggested to get beautiful photographs. We always enjoy our visits to Rogerthorpe Manor, a venue local to us, and as we've built a great relationship with the staff, spanning many years, we get a warm welcome, always. The challenging weather has been a recurring topic of conversation this year but for a change the wet stuff gave us a break. However, wedding photographers are hard to please when it comes to their perfect weather and it was breezy with bright sunshine, both of which present difficulties. Not to worry, it not raining makes us happy, sunshine puts everyone in a good mood and we were there all day, as we always are, which means on those summer days we can pick and choose which areas to work in earlier in the day and leave other areas until later when the sun has set and the light is softer and more even. Sally got ready in the main hotel building, in a lovely room for bridal preparations, and she gave us a very warm welcome. The lighting and the headboard in this room makes a beautiful backdrop for that most important of dresses and Sally had asked for a photograph like one she'd seen in one of our albums. There were some beautiful details, as well as hair styling and make-up to capture before we moved outside for Andy's photographs. We knew there was something very special about Andy's wedding ring, made from a gold ingot gifted to him to celebrate his christening, a lovely story that Andy shared with us before the wedding. The couple had their wish for an outdoor ceremony and everyone stayed outside and enjoyed the sunshine whilst we got the group shots in the can. The Lawrence Suite looked really pretty, the speeches were belters and afterwards we had the luxury of plenty of daylight and the pleasure of spending some quiet time with Sally and Andy, whose happiness at becoming husband and wife was obvious. There was a magician who enthralled the guests during the early evening, the first dance was gorgeous and the icing on the cake was that there was only one wedding being hosted, so we got the main garden area and the folly to ourselves for some spectacular twilight photos. An absolutely fabulous day in fabulous company. A massive thank you Mr and Mrs Green for choosing us. Congratulations!

Rogerthorpe Manor Wedding Photographer | Hayley and Nathaniel's Wedding
A mega busy week and one where we were so lucky to have decent weather for the majority of the time, saw us with the wonderful Hayley and Nathaniel for wedding number three in three days, and another trip to take wedding photographs at St Wilfrid's Church, Brayton, where we've had the pleasure of being Selby wedding photographers on several occasions. After capturing the relaxed bridal preparations at the couple's home it was on to the church to wait for Nathaniel, who arrived in a beautiful vintage car, at the exact time we'd arranged, giving us plenty of time to capture groom portraits and lots of other photos before Hayley arrived with her proud dad. The resident vicar, Pete, a hilarious Scotsman and definitely one of the residents of our favourite vicars' list, wasn't present that day but the vicar who married the couple was lovely and allowed us to get on with the job of capturing Hayley and Nathaniel's wedding vows as they tied the knot in this spectacular church. Everyone headed out into the sunshine to shower them with confetti and then make the journey to the reception. We're regular Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers and always feel very much at home at this venue. We knew though that we were on a tight timeline, as there were two weddings being hosted that day, not surprising on a Saturday in August, but Hayley, Nathaniel and their guests were absolute stars who arrived at Rogerthorpe Manor as quickly as possible and stayed close by so that we can could complete the group photos fast, leaving us a few precious minutes for couple photos in the beautiful, picturesque main garden. Fifteen minutes before the guests began to sit for the wedding breakfast was our cue to scoot inside and photograph the room, this time the Lawrence Suite, and some of the details couples put some much time and effort into choosing. After the speeches we made use of the other areas around the grounds for Hayley and Nathaniel's photographs. This time is a complete contrast to the faster pace we inevitably have to work at earlier in the day and it's always a time we really enjoy, as we get to slow things down and the couple can relax and spend time together. We love being able to chat with them more and get some romantic images for them. Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Reeson for booking us. Your wedding had so many of the things that make for a fabulous day - a couple whose joy at becoming husband and wife you could see in their faces, lots of laughter, an accommodating vicar, great weather, beautiful locations, friendly guests, and some gorgeous twilight photos, the perfect final chapter of a spectacular wedding album. Congratulations and our very best wishes for a long and happy life together!
