Our busiest week of the year saw us photographing Abbie and Russ's big day, our second of three weddings in three days. We had an early start with Abbie and the girls and the hair and make-up machine was in full swing when we arrived, and although we've seen many dresses in a huge variety of styles, Abbie's takes the record for the longest train yet! It was truly spectacular and she looked gorgeous! I think even Abbie was surprised at how far it stretched when we set it out for photographs. The bridal team numbered eight lovely, friendly bridesmaids, including Charlotte, whose sister's wedding we photographed a few years ago. The girls were all fantastic fun to be around and it was obvious how important it was to them that Abbie and Russ had the best day. We went off to start the Wragby church wedding photography at the picturesque church in the grounds of Nostell Priory, where we waited for Russ and his guys to arrive on a vintage bus. John, the vicar, was his usual welcoming self and encouraged us to do our best job for the couple and he would do his. Perfect! A massive volley of confetti at the church gate was followed by the couple and their guests' departure on the bus to go to Waterton Park Hotel. The sky was full of dramatic clouds which look fantastic on photographs and they really added to Abbie and Russ's Waterton Park Hotel wedding photography by the lake as we waited for the guests to make their way over the bridge. We enjoyed some giggles with the girls before heading inside to capture those beautiful and important details in the Walton Suite, something we always do before the room gets trashed, and we had a few minutes to grab some couple portraits and show off Abbie's amazing dress before we handed over to the wedding coordinator to announce Mr and Mrs Kaye into the room for dinner. The weather decided to challenge us as it has done so many times this year and it started drizzling just as we were about to go outside to make the most of the early evening light, but Abbie and Russ decided to go for it anyway. Love a couple who take everything in their stride and don't let the weather spoil their day. We joined a goose on the boardwalk and unlike in the spring nesting season when they're pretty tetchy, this guy just stood there looking out at the lake, adding another lovely element to these images.
