Oulton Hall Wedding Photographer | Patricia and Neil's Wedding

What a cracker of a day we had as Patricia and Neil's Oulton Hall wedding photographers at the beginning of June.  We first met them when they were checking out venues and they chose Oulton Hall after a conversation with us about what makes a great place for a wedding.  Of course it comes down to how much you love a venue but it's also the friendliness of the staff and whether they will do everything they can to help things run smoothly, especially if the weather lets you down. Wedding photographers are always under pressure at the best of times and poor weather adds to that.  Having staff who work with you, including the concierge who kept the red carpet down for the couple until after the wedding breakfast, and some great locations for indoor Oulton Hall wedding photography makes a massive difference, so it's these things, along with the beauty of the place, that makes this venue one of our favourites.  We started at the couple's home, moving on to St Oswald's church in Methley for the ceremony, where the wonderful vicar, Sarah, a good friend of Patricia and Neil's, did the honours.  She certainly took her place on our "best vicars' honours list", being incredibly lovely and also for making it clear that photography during the service was welcomed and encouraged.  We again had the pleasure of working alongside videographer Jordan Lee, who we first met earlier this year and who is a genuinely nice guy and very considerate towards his photographer colleagues.  Patricia and Neil's wedding day was packed full of special people and beautiful personal touches. Her best friend styled Patricia's hair, her daughter, Sarah, is a singer in a band, her husband is the drummer, and the band performed during the ceremony and in the evening. She has a voice that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up; an incredibly talented lady, who also had the honour of walking her mum into church.  Sarah's daughters were like little princesses and were a joy to photograph, the speeches brought tears to many eyes, and as Patrica and Neil go dancing it went without saying that these two wouldn't just be shuffling slowly around the dance floor!  The ceremony ran longer than planned, as the couple have close connections to the church and sing in the choir, so they decided they wanted to include a mass.  This did have an impact on the timings but during summer and theirs the only wedding day we've had so far this year when the rain stayed away, apart from a teasing light shower as we arrived at the church, we had loads of perfect soft daylight after dinner to concentrate on some couple portraits before everyone met up in the Claret Jug for the evening party.  When we first met them Neil was very impressed with our beautiful twilight photos, so after the first dance we set up and whisked them back down to the hotel for a final set of images which will finish off their wedding album. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Hampshire, such wonderful, warm people.  We loved working with you on your special day!

We're more than happy for you to share on social media and spread the word about us but we ask that our copyright is respected and our details are not removed.  Thanks a million :)

Oulton Hall Wedding Photographer | Jenny and Mike's Wedding

Jenny is probably our biggest blog fan.  She's been reading our posts going back years and picking out images she really likes, and now Jenny and Mike, this one's for you!  It's always a joy to be Oulton Hall wedding photographers and we are really proud to be promoted at this beautiful venue. We work hard to maintain their trust and confidence in us and we are privileged to be invited to exhibit as one of their handful of recommended suppliers at the Open Days they regularly host.  It was at one of these that we first met Jenny and Mike. Jenny told us that she almost always chooses everything and everyone based on her first impression; her gut feeling, and we are delighted that Jenny's first impression of us was so good that she and Mike chose us to capture their special day. With a dodgy weather forecast it's always good to know that you have somewhere to work should the wet stuff decide to make an appearance, and with wedding photography at Oulton Hall this isn't a worry because there is a great space for family groups and plenty of areas for bride and groom portraits.  It's one of those rare venues where even if the weather is perfect all day you would choose to capture some couple portraits inside where the lighting is soft and warm and the backdrops are gorgeous.  Jenny got ready at the venue and her son, Jono, did an expert make-up for his mum. Fancy being lucky enough to have a son who's a make-up artist!  He also took on the role of accompanying his mum into the ceremony. Mike's son, Jacob, was a great best man to his dad, and Erin, Jenny's daughter, and Mike's daughter, Ellie, were wonderful bridesmaids. The civil ceremony was held in the stunning Repton Room and then the rain scuppered plans for outdoor photographs, so it was group photos in the Repton Lounge, but afterwards it cleared allowing for confetti and those all important "couple within a scene" photos that Jenny loves. We got a spectacular photograph of the Repton Room dressed for dinner, along with a variety of details shots, before the guests sat for the wedding breakfast. Jenny made a speech telling of her and Mike's first meeting, which had the guests in stitches, and once the formalities were over it was time to work in our favourite indoor locations, the orangery and on the gallery, and create some beautiful bride and groom images.  Mike was very much up for having his photo taken; Jenny considerably less so, but she looks amazing and we hope she will be over the moon with these.  Congratulations Mr and Mrs McHale!  Thanks a million for choosing us to share your wonderful wedding day.
