Waterton Park Wedding Photographer | Laura and Paul's Wedding

We were very happy to be chosen by Laura and Paul as their Waterton Park wedding photographers, a favourite venue of ours, and one of several local venues where we are recommended.  Laura got ready at home and we received a warm welcome from everyone when we arrived to photograph the bridal preparations and the details, including a gorgeous Justin Alexander wedding gown.  A trusting Laura gave Paul free reign to choose his own outfit, which she had no idea about, and on meeting him to start with the wedding photography at Walton Hall we were pretty impressed with his choice of a dark blue suit with an orange buttonhole, orange socks and an orange and blue tie to tie :) everything together.  Just as we finished the photos with the lads, Laura and the girls arrived in style on a vintage bus.  We always appreciate a bride's early arrival but Laura was so early that the driver had to tuck the bus out of sight (not easy) so that none of the guests caught a glimpse of her before the ceremony started.  It was one of those days when we were prepared for shower dodging, but days like these feature those fantastic, dramatic stormy skies which add so much to the couple and bridal portraits.  After confetti throwing we snatched a few minutes alone with the couple by the lakeside as the guests headed over the bridge and onto the island for celebration drinks and group pictures. We just managed to get the big group shot and family photos in the bag when the heavens opened, forcing a race under the cover of the main entrance to Walton Hall for the bridal party photos.  The Walton Suite looked lovely dressed for the wedding breakfast and the couple had opted for a small top cake and cupcakes, which looked amazing and tasted delicious (we got to try one at Laura's insistence before we left in the evening).  The cakes were expertly designed and made by Karen, The Vintage Cake Fairy, who we can't recommend highly enough.  We had a torrential downpour during dinner, which came as no surprise, but we were thankful it had stopped by the time everyone came downstairs, as some fun shots were on Laura and Paul's wish list and it was also a good time to capture some natural, relaxed photos of the two of them with their daughter, Pippa. The long daylight hours are so welcome and we loved spending time with Mr and Mrs Ruse creating some beautiful images taking in the backdrops that this amazing venue has to offer.  Laura wasn't too confident about being photographed but admitted that she had loved the experience, which is exactly what we work hard to achieve.  Congratulations to you both.  We wish you many years of happiness together.

Waterton Park Hotel Wedding Photographers for Lindsey and Gav

We're are very happy to have earned an excellent reputation and be recommended wedding photographers for Waterton Park Hotel, as well as other venues in our area, and we were delighted when Lindsey and Gav decided that we were the photographers to capture their special day at one of our favourite places.  The girls got ready in one of the rooms upstairs and the atmosphere during the bridal prep was one of fun and banter and we enjoyed the giggles as we photographed make-up being applied, hair being twirled and some beautiful details, including Lindsey's bouquet of peonies, roses and sweet peas, in vibrant coral, hot pink and ivory.  We left the girls and crossed over the bridge to start the Walton Hall wedding photography with Gav and the lads and they had plenty of banter of their own to keep us entertained during the groom's portrait session.  Lindsey was in her stunning dress when we got back to her room and the nerves had really started to kick in but once she was beside her husband to be the nerves gave way to smiles and joy as vows were made and rings exchanged.  The couple were showered with confetti and then the guests enjoyed the pretty lakeside surroundings whilst we photographed the groups.  Early ceremonies in summer mean a longer and more relaxed day for everyone and for us it means being able to do some couple photos and bridal portraits before the wedding breakfast and some afterwards, still with plenty of daylight.  Also, once dinner is done it's a good time to have some fun with the bridal party, as nerves over speeches are gone and everyone has loosened up.  Lindsey, Gav and their attendants were fantastic and very much up for a laugh.  Once the fun shots were in the can our bride was determined to spend plenty of time with us to get as many photographs as possible and we got some lovely portraits.  After the first dance we set up for the twilight photos Lindsey really wanted. This did mean we had to interrupt Gav who was busting some moves on the dance floor but Lindsey knew that these photos are time critical and some words from his wife brought Gav outside!  Sorry for interrupting your dancing Gav but we hope that when you see the images you will think it was worth it :) Thank you for booking us to share your celebrations and huge congratulations from both of us on becoming Mr and Mrs Smith!

Waterton Park Hotel Wedding Photographer - Charlotte and Mark

Charlotte and Mark booked us for their Waterton Park wedding photography with only a few weeks to go before their big day.  The couple have recently moved up to Yorkshire, they fell in love with Waterton Park as soon as they saw it, and their wedding date was set for a Sunday in September, with Charlotte managing to plan everything, down to the very last detail, in an incredibly short space of time.

We were very privileged to be chosen as the couple's wedding photographers and to be given an insight into the moving story of how they met, fell for each other, and completely turned their lives around, all in the space of a year.  Charlotte was beside herself with joy and excitement each time we chatted, telling us about her plans and showing us pictures of all the little details she had chosen.  We very much wanted to reflect her excitement in the couple's photos.

We love being Waterton Park wedding photographers as this beautiful venue offers so much variety for photographs, having architecture, greenery and a stunning lakeside setting to use as backdrops. Charlotte got ready at the venue and she had lots of details for us to photograph, as well as a gorgeous princess style dress, before we headed over the bridge and onto the island to take Mark's pictures.

During our planning meeting before the wedding, Charlotte expressed a dislike of traditional group photos, preferring a more fun and informal approach.  The couple decided on a big group shot of everyone, incorporating a spectacular balloon release, and then just a few smaller groups to be taken after the ceremony, with the emphasis on showing the personalities of the people in the groups, with, well, some interesting and hilarious results!

With the weather on our side, we planned the main couple photo session for after the wedding breakfast, but there was a little time beforehand for some bride and groom photos before we went in to photograph the County Suite which looked beautiful dressed in orange and Tiffany blue.  This will make a lovely image for Charlotte and Mark's storybook album, along with the pretty details which were on the tables.  The speeches were both funny and emotional, with Charlotte's dad making his daughter crack up with laughter one minute and shed tears the next.

Mr and Mrs Taylor enjoyed their romantic portrait session in the softer early evening light and we made the most of the backdrops that Walton Hall wedding photography has to offer, before they rejoined their guests for the evening party.  Charlotte's brother Ben grabbed his sister for some impressive moves around the dance floor before the bride and groom danced their first dance as husband and wife.  Our sincere thanks to Charlotte and Mark for choosing us to capture their very special day.
