Wentbridge House Wedding Photographers | Emma and Rob

After quite a long break from working at Emma and Rob's venue, theirs was our second of three visits this year and it was lovely to be back as Wentbridge House wedding photographers for a gorgeous couple who were fabulous to work with.  It was a breeze to get great pictures of these two, as Emma looked stunning and Rob scrubbed up quite well too, plus he just went along with whatever we suggested - perfect!  We caught up with the girls as they got ready and we captured some lovely bridal details to remind Emma in years to come what shoes, jewellery and perfume she wore, and then we went outside to play with the lads for a while.  The only fly in the ointment was the drizzle, which threatened to put paid to Emma's much wanted and planned for outdoor wedding. The venue staff have the unenviable task of having to make a decision as to whether to move the ceremony indoors, and when you have intermittent drizzle it can be difficult to know what to do for the best, but Emma asked for the decision to be made right at the very last minute, which turned out to be a good move as the drizzle stopped just in time, allowing a delighted bride her wish, to tie the knot in the temple on the lawn.  The rain stayed away for the rest of the day and because all the guests were already outside and with fantastic help from members of the bridal party in gathering people together, we breezed through the group photos, with time to spare for fun shots and some couple portraits before dinner. After the speeches we took Emma and Rob outside for their romantic Wentbridge House wedding photography session, including some lovely shots on the bridge just outside the venue.  The couple had the traditional wood panelled bridal suite and photographs in there have a beautiful warmth to them, perfect as an ending to their wedding album. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Kirk and a massive thank you for booking us to capture your wonderful wedding day.  It was an absolute pleasure to share it and we are over the moon that you got your outdoor ceremony!

Walton Hall Wedding Photographers | Samantha and Luke

Our booking to be Waterton Park Hotel wedding photographers for Samantha and Luke came about by recommendation from their close friends, Rachel and Joe, whose wedding we photographed a few years ago.  It was great to see them again, this time as members of the bridal party.  With quite a late ceremony at that time of year when the weather could throw anything at you from a blizzard to a heatwave, we were hopeful of it being kind to the couple and their guests, at least after the ceremony and before dinner, for everyone to stay outside, enjoy the beautiful setting and have photographs taken against the variety of backdrops you get with Walton Hall wedding photography.  Apart from being a bit breezy, we couldn't have wished for a better day, or a more lovely and enthusiastic couple. Samantha got ready in the bridal suite on the island, overlooking the lake, and the light was wonderfully soft, perfect for make-up photos.  The dresses were on personalised hangers, which is one of the little details which make for nicer pictures.  When we met Luke and the boys they were in great spirits, which made for a cracking photo session with them before we lost Luke to the registrar, signalling time to get back to the girls for final preps, Samantha now looking in her stunning Princess style dress, before the walk over the bridge to the ceremony, which was happy and full of giggles, just as the best ceremonies are.  We raced to fit as much into the precious daylight time as possible before the wedding breakfast, and the laughter continued with hilarious speeches which ended with Red Nose Day noses being given out to everyone.  The couple joined us for some evening shots before stepping out onto the floor in the Boathouse for their first dance.  The light was really something, enhanced by the Mr & Mrs letters along one side of the dance floor. Gorgeous! Thanks a million Mr and Mrs Hirst for giving us the pleasure and the privilege of being your wedding photographers.  Congratulations guys!

Waterton Park Hotel Wedding Photography | Donna and Jamie's Wedding

We're always happy when we're booked by lovely couples to be wedding photographers at Waterton Park Hotel as this spectacular island location, which is unique amongst Yorkshire wedding venues, has everything a Wakefield wedding photographer could wish for - a stunning lakeside backdrop, interesting architecture, attractive areas indoors, which come in very useful especially if the weather doesn't play ball,  and friendly and attentive staff who can't do enough to make sure the bride and groom and their guests have a fantastic day.  Donna and her girls got ready in the Gamekeeper's Cottage and she had told us to expect her dress to be something out of the ordinary and Wow! it was gorgeous!  We left the girls to their final preparations and met up with Jamie and his attendants for the lads' portraits on the island, along with the banter this always brings.  After the civil ceremony the guests gathered on the island to enjoy the drinks reception, the great weather and the surroundings and we cracked on with the group photo session.  Donna and Jamie had gone to town on the decor in the Waterton Suite and for the last few minutes before the guests were invited to sit for dinner, we captured a selection of the table details, some of which had a fishing theme, but more about that later.  Weddings at this venue run like clockwork and as recommended wedding photographers for Walton Hall Hotel we know that whilst the guests are taking their places for dinner, we have a few precious minutes for some couple and bridal portraits around the columns at the front, with no photo bombers!  We love all weddings but summer ones are great, with their long daylight hours, which meant we could capture something Jamie was particularly enthusiastic about after the wedding breakfast and speeches.  To say Jamie is a keen fisherman is an understatement, so we suspect this went some way to influencing the couple's choice of venue, and he couldn't wait to have some photographs taken with a fishing theme.  We're not sure he was too happy about relinquishing his fishing rod to his wife but we are really happy with the results!  You guys were such great sports and we loved working with you. After the first dance in the Boathouse we went back outside to set up to take some twilight photographs which will make an incredible ending to Donna and Jamie's wedding album. Congratulations on tying the knot Mr and Mrs Watts and thank you so much for choosing us to share such a beautiful day.
