Susan and Joan's wedding blessing and their sons' christening at St Cuthbert's church, Ackworth and Rogerthorpe Manor - 19 July 2009
Today we had the pleasure of being the photographers for Susan and Joan's celebrations. This was a very special day for the family, as Susan and Joan who live in Dubai and married there in February last year, had a blessing of their marriage at St Cuthbert's church in Ackworth, followed by the christening of their two baby sons, Sebastian James and Lucas Mateo. Susan looked stunning, it has to be said! The ceremony was conducted by the lovely, friendly Jenny, who allowed us to photograph everything that was happening to capture some beautiful and priceless memories, not only for the couple, but for their sons to enjoy in the future as they grow up. After the ceremony, it was off to Rogerthorpe Manor in Badsworth. After dinner, Joan told everyone how the couple met in a fabulous speech which was both hilarious and extremely moving. The couple's devotion to each other and to their sons is obvious, and we hope that we managed to capture some of this passion in their photographs. Joan has now returned to Dubai but we look forward to seeing him and Susan again very soon when he returns to join his family who are staying with Susan's parents in Ackworth. A sincere thank you to you for allowing us the privilege of sharing your very special day.
Claire and Adriaan's wedding at St John's church, Warley and the Holiday Inn, Clifton - 18 July 2009
Today Claire and Adriaan married at St John's church in Warley, Halifax. Their ceremony was made all the more special as Claire's dad, Stephen is a vicar and it was his privilege to marry his beautiful daughter, Claire to her lovely groom, Ady. Claire's mum, Susan accompanied her to the church and then handed over to dad, Stephen to do the honours. To share this day was very special for us too, as we photographed Ady's brother Stevan's wedding just over two years ago. It was great to see some familiar faces! We are privileged to be asked to share a wedding day but to be asked to share a sibling's wedding too is very humbling. After completing the family group photographs inside the church, we left for the Holiday Inn in Clifton near Brighouse for the reception. After dinner and a hilarious speech from Ady's other brother, Kristiaan, who flew over from the United States to share the best man's responsibilities with Stevan, it was outside for some fun shots with Claire, Ady and their attendants who were great fun and really up for a laugh. We followed these with some romantic shots of the couple together. We would like to thank you both for inviting us to share your special day and we hope that you are enjoying a fabulous honeymoon.
"We both just want to reiterate how beautiful our pictures are. You have both done an absolutely amazing job and so many people have complimented you both this week, having seen our lovely photos. You came to us highly recommended and we would like you to know that should we ever need any photography in the future, we will definitely come to you. We will (and currently have been doing) recommend you to our friends/family etc. You worked so hard before, during and after our wedding day to give us some amazing pictures that really capture such a wonderful day....THANK YOU." Sharon and Kelvin married at the King's Croft Hotel in Pontefract on a very rainy Friday. However, the weather didn't dampen anyone's spirits and although we were forced to stay indoors for most of the day, everyone had a fantastic time. After the ceremony, the couple celebrated with their family and friends and following the wedding breakfast and speeches, we spent some time in the bridal suite taking a few romantic photographs of Sharon and Kelvin together. In the evening, Sharon surprised Kelvin with a casino which went down a treat with the adult guests. Thank you Sharon and Kelvin for inviting us to share your special day.

Rachel and Mathew's wedding at All Saints' church, Castleford and the King's Croft Hotel - 4 July 2009
Rachel and Mathew married at our local church, All Saints' in Castleford. Rachel looked every inch the fairytale bride in her gorgeous gown. Father David conducted the ceremony and his relaxed and generous approach meant that we were able to capture some beautiful moments such as when the cute little flowergirl, Tamsyn, decided to walk up the aisle and cuddle up to Mathew's legs during the wedding vows. Such wonderful moments could never be staged and this one was priceless! After a few photographs at the church, it was off to the King's Croft in Pontefract to celebrate with family and friends. Rachel and Mathew rounded off their first dance in style with a fabulous balloon drop. Capturing this takes split second timing and we hope that Rachel and Mathew are delighted with the results.
