Rogerthorpe Manor Wedding Photography for Rachel and Jon

We go back a very long way with Rachel and her family and we were chuffed to bits to be chosen by her and Jon, or Scotty as he prefers to be known, as their Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers on a beautiful June day, one of the few we've had that could really be described as summer, and we could not have been more delighted for the couple and their families that the weather was so lovely!  As we were photographing the details Rachel arrived home with hair perfectly styled and make-up beautifully applied, ready to step into her spectacular Maggie Sottero gown. She was excited and ecstatically happy, which is exactly how a bride should feel.  She said she felt beautiful, and beautiful Rachel definitely was!  We met Scotty to start the Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel wedding photography before his bride's arrival with her parents.  The civil ceremony was held in the Lawrence Suite and afterwards it was great for everyone to come out into the gardens to enjoy drinks and the sunshine, with no concerns about the weather spoiling things. In fact, for photographers, it was too sunny (dare we say that?) so we decided to get the group photos and confetti shots in the can, along with a few couple and bridal portraits, and wait until after the wedding breakfast to take the fun photos with the girls and the bridal party and then work with Rachel and Scotty during the early evening.  We love summer weddings for the longer daylight hours and when the ceremony is an early one the couple and their guests have a long day to celebrate and enjoy each other's company and we get to be more relaxed with the photography. The blazing sunshine eventually faded to the soft, flattering light we were waiting for, it was pleasantly warm, we had a lovely venue, plenty of time and an enthusiastic and loved up couple with bags of enthusiasm who gave us great feedback as we worked with them.  Perfection!  When we returned to the guests there was time to catch up with Linda and Dave, Rachel's proud parents and long time friends of ours, before the evening celebrations started, the cake was cut and the first dance was danced. Our sincere congratulations guys and although you made us feel very humble when you told us how you felt about having us there, the pleasure was ours!

Wedding Photography at Oulton Hall for Jenny and Dean

We are really happy to be booked by Jenny and Dean as their Oulton Hall wedding photographers on a popular date in June, and very flattered that the booking came about by kind recommendation from another photographer.  After chatting with the couple about their plans - and in secret with Jenny about a surprise she had planned for Dean - we knew theirs would be a really interesting day with plenty of photo opportunities.  The girls got ready upstairs and discussed whether Jenny had managed to keep the helicopter she'd booked for Dean a secret from him.  We photographed the dress, shoes and flowers and then made sure we were on the golf course a few minutes ahead of Dean's stylish arrival. The couple married in a civil ceremony in the Repton Room and afterwards everyone celebrated outside with Champagne before launching an impressive volley of confetti over the new Mr and Mrs Bowyer.  Jenny looked gorgeous in her vintage style lace dress and she had shared with us some ideas about the type of photographs she wanted - arty, romantic and the couple as a small element within a surrounding scene - and the ones she didn't want - anything cheesy and not too many smiling for the camera.  We tried hard to visualise the Oulton Hall wedding photographs which would best appeal to Jenny, whilst keeping to the elegant and classic style we are well known for, and we decided that as the weather forecast was risky later on, that it would be best to work outside as much as possible before the wedding breakfast, leaving the interior shots for later.  This worked well, as it did start to drizzle during the early evening, which was our cue to spend some relaxed and quiet time photographing Jenny and Dean on the gallery and staircase before everyone headed to the Claret Jug for the evening party, which featured a casino and later, a surprise for everyone, a spectacular firework display, although by that time it was tipping it down, but we were determined that we would get some great images to complete the couple's storybook. Walton Hall Wedding Photography for Abbie and Matt

With the British summer 2016 as unpredictable as ever, you can count yourself lucky getting one glorious day for a wedding, but to get three days on the trot when the rain doesn't make an appearance is something you wouldn't even dare to wish for.  Abbie and Matt are such a lovely couple and they certainly deserved the sun to shine on their wedding day, our third in three days, and as Walton Hall wedding photographers, we were over the moon when it did!  When you've been a professional Wakefield wedding photographer for as long as we have, you begin to realise that your photography style and your personalities attract clients whose values and tastes are similar to yours, and we knew at our first meeting that we were a perfect fit for Abbie and Matt.  They thought the same, saying that they'd had a good vibe about us straight away.  This great couple and their families are considerate, polite and appreciative, and a pleasure to be around.  Waterton Park Hotel is a spectacular venue where we are recommended wedding photographers and we couldn't have wished for a more enjoyable day.  The majority of their suppliers had been chosen from the venue's list of recommended professionals, including Val from Cushty Chairs, professional guitarist and singer, Jill Ryder and Pamela Clare who did Abbie's stunning make-up.  This was the first time we'd photographed a ceremony in the Walton Suite on the island and after meeting for the first time only the day before, we had the pleasure of working again with registrar Lyndsey, and her colleague Julie, who we've known for a while.  After the ceremony the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed the sunshine, champagne and the beautiful surroundings whilst we cracked on with group photos, impressively assisted by Matt's brother, Jonny.  After two pleasantly warm days, things really started to heat up and the blazing sunshine meant that the light wasn't ideal in some of the locations we wanted to use for Mr and Mrs Hays' photographs, so we took advantage of the long daylight hours and split the photography up to use the best light at the time, which kept the couple's Waterton Park wedding photography relaxed and interesting for them, as well as giving them plenty of free time with their guests.  A perfect day in the company of an absolutely wonderful couple.  Congratulations and our very best wishes for a long and happy marriage and thank you for booking us to share your wedding day.
