Wedding Photographer Leeds | Fiona and Alex's Wedding Photography at The Bridge Inn, Walshford

It was a great pleasure to share Fiona and Alex's wedding celebrations as they married at the beautiful church of St John the Baptist in Adel, Leeds.  As West Yorkshire wedding photographers, we love weddings and we just knew that theirs would be a wonderful day, helped by nice weather for a change!

Our day begin at Fiona's parents' home just a few minutes away from the church and as our bride was in her dress and ready before we left, we were able to capture some portraits of her as well as the lovely reactions of her dad and grandparents when they saw her for the first time as a bride.

We travelled the short distance to the church to meet the boys and take photographs of them, Alex with his parents and shots of the rings before Alex went inside to chat to Ian, the vicar.  Fiona's mum and bridesmaids arrived a few minutes ahead of Fiona and her dad, who arrived in a classic Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.

As always, Ian conducted a lovely marriage ceremony and following this, the new Mr and Mrs Starkey spent a few minutes being congratulated by their guests before we began the group photographs, getting these done quickly before we joined everyone at the church gate for the confetti throwing.

As The Bridge Inn, Walshford wedding photographers, we know the venue is quite a distance from the church but we had a good clear run and Fiona and Alex weren't far behind us.  With only the big group photograph of everyone remaining, we spent some quiet time taking relaxed photographs of the couple in the paddock and once we'd made sure that all the guests had arrived at the reception venue, we got the big group photo in the can and then left everyone to chat whilst we photographed the wedding breakfast room dressed in its elegant ivory and white scheme.

After speeches and dinner, Fiona and Alex were keen to have a second photo session and we really enjoyed working with them to create some more beautiful images of the two of them together and our beautiful bride on her own.  We also had some fun with the couple, Fiona's sister Steff and brother Chris before the boys came up with some fun ideas of their own. It was obvious that the alcohol had kicked in by this time!

Fiona and Alex rejoined their guests on the terrace to enjoy the pleasant summer evening.  You guys were so lucky with the weather!!  The evening guests arrived and Fiona and Alex cut their fabulous white chocolate cake and then took to the floor for their first dance as husband and wife.  We hope they have a fantastic honeymoon in Mexico and we want to say a big thank you to them and their families for asking us to capture their wedding full of fun and laughter.

Wedding Photographer Manchester | Rosy and Ian's Wedding Photography Victoria & Albert Hotel, Manchester

Rosy decided to get ready at the Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel, Manchester and this is where we started our coverage of her and Ian's wedding day.  Rosy, her mum and bridesmaids were in great spirits and there was lots of laughter as we photographed her beautiful dress, very high heeled shoes and all the other important bits and pieces before we left to for the church, hoping that for a change, the weather would be kind to us.

As Manchester wedding photographers, we know that St Joseph's Roman Catholic church in Sale is beautiful inside and also the priest is very accommodating when it comes to photography during the marriage ceremony, so we were really looking forward to capturing some great images as Rosy and Ian exchanged vows and wedding rings.

Ian arrived just as we did, enabling us to get the boys' photographs done with time to spare so that Ian could go inside the church and let the nerves kick in and we could wait for Rosy's arrival with her mum and bridesmaids.  A shower as we were waiting prompted a dash to the car for an umbrella but thankfully, it soon blew over.

A lovely ceremony was followed by a big group shot taken from the organ loft before the new Mr and Mrs Murphy left the church.  With everyone nearby, the group photographs, fun shots with the bridal party and the confetti photos were done really quickly allowing us, as planned, to take the couple for wedding photographs at Walkden Gardens where we spent around half an hour with them using some of the lovely backdrops in this beautiful park, before leaving to head back for the reception at the Victoria and Albert Hotel.

Whilst everyone enjoyed the wedding breakfast, we checked out some locations around the hotel for photographs later and once we'd photographed the speeches, Rosy and Ian joined us for a short photo session on the canal bank.  Rosy's dress had lots of layers of lace and net which just begged to be shown off and a sequence of fun images were a great way of doing this prompting lots of laughter too.

We returned to the hotel for the evening celebrations including Rosy and Ian's first dance but we knew that they had a surprise in store for their guests first - Chinese dancing lions. These dancers were amazing, entertaining and very amusing too and we think that everyone was impressed by them.

We had a really wonderful and very enjoyable day with Rosy and Ian and their parents, families and friends.  We hope that Mr and Mrs Murphy are having a fabulous honeymoon and thank you so much for inviting us to share your wedding day.

Wedding Photographer Leeds | Emily and Nick's Wedding Photography Adel Church and Mercure Parkway Hotel

We first met Emily, Nick and her dad, Malcolm at a wedding fair at the Mercure Parkway Hotel, Leeds and we hit it off immediately.  We were delighted when they asked us to photograph their wedding.  Having got to know Emily and Nick pretty well since they booked us as their Leeds wedding photographers over a year ago, photographing their daughter, Lexie as a new baby and being invited to her christening at the beautiful St John the Baptist Church, Adel some months later, we were so looking forward to sharing their wedding day because we knew they would be fantastic to work with and regardless of what the weather was doing, we knew it would be an amazing day, in the company of lovely people.

We've had a lot of rain this wedding season but the rain on Emily and Nick's wedding day can only be described as torrential with flood warnings up and down the country.  As wedding photographers at the Mercure Leeds Parkway, we arrived for Emily's preparations and went up to her room where the girls were getting ready and not surprisingly, the first thing mentioned was the weather.  Emily said that no one could do anything about it so she could choose to cry or to smile and she chose to smile - all day - because what mattered more than anything was that she was marrying Nick.  Her wonderful attitude made us feel better and we were absolutely determined that no matter what the weather threw at us, Emily and Nick were going to get stunning photographs!

After spending some time with the girls, we left for the church to meet the boys.  This church has the most beautiful arched doorway which does offer a little bit of shelter and it was an obvious choice of location for the photographs of Nick and his attendants who remained good natured throughout and really helped us a lot.

Although it didn't actually stop raining, there was a distinct change from torrential rain to a slight drizzle as Emily arrived with her proud dad.  The vicar, Ian White, had already said that as long as he knew that Emily was "on the premises" at 12.30 pm, he didn't mind us taking our time with photographs outside.  We knew how important it was for Emily to have photographs with her dad and Emily's bridesmaids did a fantastic job of protecting her dress and keeping her dry as they all walked up the path.

Ian kindly allowed us both to photograph the wedding ceremony and afterwards, we decided that the best plan of action was to photograph the smaller groups inside the church before leaving for the hotel and completing the larger family groups there.

On arrival, the rain had eased, allowing us to get some photographs of the couple with their Beauford outside the hotel.  Whilst they spent some time with their guests, we kept a close eye on the weather, hoping for a break as it alternated between drizzle and bucketing down with no sign of a complete let up.  We completed the group photographs inside the hotel, along with some of the new Mr and Mrs Gregson, before photographing the ballroom set up for the wedding breakfast, returning some time later for speeches.

We decided to check on the off chance it had stopped raining and finally, it had!  We all jumped in our car and drove back to Adel church as there were some images which we were desperate to take.  We really wanted to do something very special for Emily and Nick and guys, we have to say, you were amazing!!!!  We hope you love these as much as we do.

On our return to the hotel, it was almost time for Emily and Nick's first dance together, followed by Emily's dance with her dad.  We would have loved to have had a dry day but despite a soaking, we enjoyed every single minute spent with this lovely family and their guests.  Thank you so much to both the Ash and Gregson families and huge congratulations to Emily and Nick.
