Wedding Photographers Cave Castle - Marie and Daniel

Another new venue for us this year and our first time as Cave Castle wedding photographers following us being recommended to Marie and Daniel.  Marie got ready at Cave Castle before making the journey to the church and everyone's thoughts were very much on the weather and the less than ideal forecast for the day.  After the scorcher the previous weekend, the weather couldn't have been more different and the last thing any bride wants is rain.  However, it's rare that it rains for the entire day and we were hopeful that we would get some breaks in the weather.

It was bucketing down when we met Daniel to start the photography at All Saints' Church, Holme Upon Spalding Moor.  Luckily, the gate offered a little bit of cover for photographs of the boys but our umbrellas definitely had to come out.  The rain continued as Marie arrived with her dad so after the ceremony, we thought it best to photograph the smaller family groups inside the church to keep everyone dry and get them done as quickly as possible.  All Saints' is a very pretty church and the newly married couple were keen to have a few photographs taken on the pathway with the church in the background before we returned to Cave Castle.

Marie's face was a picture as the wedding car pulled up at the entrance because the sun had come out.  As professional Yorkshire wedding photographers, we tend to complain about bright sunshine as it can create problems, but after the soaking we'd just had, the sunshine was very welcome, especially as it made it possible to ditch the brollies and work outside more easily.  Michael Wall, professional toast master, was on hand to help organise everyone for the big group photo and generally assist with the smooth running of the day.  We highly recommend hiring a professional toast master, even if one doesn't come as part of the venue's services.  A good one like Michael makes all the difference and as we were working to a tight timeline before the wedding breakfast, his help was invaluable.

It was brilliant to be able to get a big group photo of everyone and some impressive confetti throwing pictures before we went inside to capture images of the Balmoral Suite and the details on the tables.  After the speeches and with an eye on the weather, which ranged from blinding sunshine to torrential rain, we managed to get a few minutes outside by the lake with the new Mr and Mrs Goodall before it threw is down again, forcing to carry on indoors.  As wedding photographers at Cave Castle, at our recce of the venue a few weeks before, we had seen the lovely staircase, and some artistic photographs on there were very much part of our plans.  We love the resulting images and we can imagine one of them taking pride of place on a wall in Marie and Dan's home, as well as in their storybook album.

We would like to congratulate Mr and Mrs Goodall and thank them for choosing us to capture their big day.  We were just as happy as you were that the rain stopped for long enough to allow us to get the outdoor pictures we all wanted.  If you were one of Marie and Dan's guests, please leave a comment, enjoy our images and Like us on Facebook.

If you are looking to book a Cave Castle wedding photographer, with us you get two, so please get in touch if you'd like more information.
