Rogerthorpe Manor Recommended Wedding Photographer | Michelle and Chris's Wedding

Our second time in six days as Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers, this time for Michelle and Chris, and our second outdoor ceremony in blazing sunshine.  Mel from Passion Flowers did a wonderful job of the floristry and the white blossom trees supplied by her made a lovely frame at the start of the red carpet for Michelle's entrance into the ceremony.  Before this there was the important job of capturing the hive of activity that is the bridal preparations, which took place in the party room.  There is a lovely wall of dark wood wardrobe doors which feature mood lighting and it's a great place for a photograph of that most important dress.  Michelle had let us into the surprise she had planned for Chris; he was presented with a Tag Heuer watch by his son on Michelle's behalf, and knowing this in advance meant we could conspire with Oscar beforehand and capture a sequence of images as Chris unwrapped his gift.  Suffice to say, he looked pleased!  We've enjoyed getting to know Michelle during the run up to the wedding but we've seen little of Chris due to his work commitments.  However, he was blown away by our album designs when we first met the couple at one of the venue's Open Days to showcase our Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photography and we can't wait to design a gorgeous album for him and Michelle.  After the activity in the girls' room and some time in the sunshine with Chris, we nipped back for final preparations and to capture one very proud dad having his first look at his daughter in her dress before he did the honours and walked her to the ceremony.  It was a big wedding with lots of guests and quite a lot of groups requested by the couple for us to cover before dinner, which meant leaving most of the couple's photos until later, which is great in the summer because there is lots of daylight, plenty of time, the couple are more relaxed and, another important one for wedding photographers, the light is better.  The Lawrence and Cawthorne Suites were opened out into one huge function room for the wedding breakfast and it looked incredible. Hats off to Mel, the florist, for going above and beyond for Michelle and Chris when they realised that their cake maker had made a mistake and finished it with the wrong colour scheme, but Mel took it all in her stride, drove back to her workshop, collected flowers in the right colours and replaced them; a true professional and a very kind thing to do.  Cute, giggling flower girls are fabulous, everyone loves pictures of them having fun and we nailed some beautiful shots of the three of them at this wedding. Anyone who thinks these things just happen should know that a certain amount of cajoling and some bribery often goes into getting them ;) The first dance featured an exploding balloon and the timings worked perfectly for some twilight photos in that lovely garden. Michelle, you looked stunning and Chris, you scrubbed up pretty well too!  Our congratulations to Mr and Mrs Sample and a huge thank you for giving us the pleasure of sharing your wedding day.

Share on social media to your heart's content but please do so only with our details on the images.  Thanks a million!

Rogerthorpe Manor Wedding Photography | Kasia and Andrew's Wedding

After a busy 2018 season, which ran right up to New Year's Eve, we had just a short break before getting back to doing what we love best, capturing precious memories for our lovely clients, this time as Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers.  We've been preferred photographers at this lovely venue for a long time and it's always a pleasure to work there. At this time of year you can expect it to be cold at best, and it's reasonable to prepare for working indoors, but it turned out fabulous and so much milder than we could have hoped for, meaning all groups and couple photos taken outside in those stunning grounds, which made us and Kasia and Andy very happy indeed!  Kasia got ready in the party room in the courtyard and it was, shall we say, busy. There was a hair and make-up production line going on and mum, grandma and bridesmaid, Natalie, were busy steaming any remaining creases out of Kasia's fabulous Pronovias wedding gown.  The couple's gorgeous little boy, Ollie, came to join the girls just before we left them to start photos of Andy and his brother and best man, James.  The Cawthorne Suite was expertly dressed by Mel from Passion Flowers and the ceremony, conducted by the Pontefract registrars, was a pleasure to capture.  We had a generous timeline before the wedding breakfast, especially important when daylight is short, but the couple were so much fun to work with and really enthusiastic about their photographs, that the time flew by far too quickly.  Then we had the dilemma of how to get their much wanted twilight shots because twilight is time critical and lost after only a few minutes.  This was one of many times when our two photographer team came into its own; Janet stayed indoors and captured the speeches whilst Alex set up outside for the twilight photos.  It was still touch and go whether we would miss the perfect time, as daylight was fading fast and the speeches were underway, but with help from Lee, the venue's master of ceremonies, who liaised with Alex and kept him informed, made an announcement to the guests, and got the couple outside just in time, things came together, giving Kasia and Andy something very special for their wedding album.  It was close guys but we nailed it!  So glad your speeches were short 😊 There were a few more groups to capture after dinner and with Kasia being a dance teacher we expected Mr and Mrs Hibbitt's first dance to be a bit different! Congratulations and thanks a million for putting your trust in us to capture your absolutely beautiful day!

We'd love you to share our images on social media and you are welcome to do so with our details on them.  Thank you.
