Wedding Photographer Ripley Castle | Adele & Ryan's Wedding Photography

As Ripley Castle wedding photographers, it was lovely to return to this beautiful wedding venue for Adele and Ryan's 4 pm civil ceremony in the library of the East Wing. Weddings are always very special occasions but theirs was made all the more so because Ryan is originally from South Africa and his family made the long journey over to attend the wedding.

Adele got ready with her bridesmaids and both mums at The Boar's Head and arrived for the ceremony in a spectacular horse drawn carriage.  After the ceremony, the couple had a few minutes to themselves and went for a ride before returning for group photos, confetti and couple shots.

Ryan's attendants really excelled themselves with the speed and efficiency with which they gathered together the guests for groups.  As it was very cold and as we had limited time before the wedding breakfast, this made such a huge difference to the smooth running of the group photo session and we are very grateful for their help.  Thank you guys!

The stunning architecture of Ripley Castle just had to be featured in the wedding images and we asked the bridal party to join us for a few minutes so that we could pose them within the arches and have some fun.  As everyone sat for the wedding breakfast, we stole the new Mr and Mrs Lotter for some photographs together on the staircase in front of the beautiful wedding window.

The finale to Adele and Ryan's wedding was a firework display which included a heart shaped firework right at the end.  Fireworks are very challenging to photograph in any case but could we capture the heart?

Thank you for asking us to be your wedding photographers at Ripley Castle.  Here are a few images from your special day.

York Pavilion Hotel Wedding Photographer | Wedding Photography York for Geraldine and Martin

As York wedding photographers, we were looking forward to Geraldine and Martin's civil ceremony and celebrations on one of the most popular dates of the year for weddings - the first Saturday in August.  This is one of those dates which wedding photographers could book over and over again and Geraldine and Martin must have realised this as they had secured our services almost two years before their big day.

This being a very popular wedding date didn't necessarily mean that the weather would be kind to us and chatting to our close friends who are also professional wedding photographers, it seems that we all had to work around heavy rain at some point during the day.

We started at Geraldine's parents' home in York where we got on with photographing all the girly bits and pieces, including Geraldine's gorgeous dress, whilst she was still at the hairdresser.  When she arrived back, it was her turn in the make-up chair, followed by a few photographs having her dress done up before we had to leave for the Pavilion Hotel in York.

Martin was lucky because the rain held off for his photographs and those with his attendants before the ceremony, starting with a joke picture which Martin asked for as a "surprise" for Geraldine, or Gez as she is affectionately known.  What do you think of the York City scarves Gez?  The sky gradually got blacker and the rain came down a few minutes before Gez arrived with her dad and it continued throughout the civil ceremony, drinks reception, group photographs, couple shots, bridal portraits and most of the wedding breakfast.

You can't do anything about the weather and what mattered most was that Gez and Martin tied the knot in a lovely, personal ceremony.  They kept smiling despite the heavy rain, went outside with one of our white umbrellas, had a few pictures taken and then went off for a drive together in their Beauford.  The rain was so heavy that all the group photographs had to be taken inside but this didn't present too much of a problem because the John Barry suite had been quickly cleared of chairs and we were able to work in this large room with its big windows and lovely drapes.

When we'd visited York Pavilion Hotel with the couple to discuss their wedding photography, we had the idea to photograph Gez in the John Barry suite after the ceremony anyway and we would have done this even if the weather had been good because Gez was really enthusiastic about our ideas for some artistic bridal portraits.  She looked beautiful!

After the wedding breakfast, the rain did finally stop and we were very happy to be able to get outside without brollies for a while, photograph the couple being showered with confetti and then spend a short time with them in the lovely gardens of the hotel.  Geraldine didn't even mind walking on the grass which was, it has to be said, pretty soggy!

Gez and Martin's first dance was to L.O.V.E. by Joss Stone and Martin had a surprise for his bride, spelling out the letters with his arms to a delighted Gez.  Thank you for giving us the privilege of sharing your wedding day Mr and Mrs Poole.

Wedding photographer Hazlewood Castle, Yorkshire

Wedding photography at Hazlewood Castle, Yorkshire for Natalie and Chris on 10 July 2010

As weddings  photographers for Hazlewood Castle, it was our pleasure to join Natalie and Chris as they tied the knot in an early morning civil ceremony in the Victoria Room, accompanied by close family and friends.  Following a few photographs outside with Natalie wearing the first of two gorgeous dresses and Chris looking very smart in suit number one, the couple went their separate ways to get ready for their blessing in the beautiful chapel of St Leonard.  As we knew that this was to be conducted by the Reverend Ian Walton, we were really looking forward to capturing this very special part of Natalie and Chris's day.  Ian is such a pleasure to work with and he knows that the photographs capturing the ceremony are so important to the couple.

We gatecrashed Joy and Rob's, Natalie's parents' room, to photograph Natalie's stunning gown number two and her accessories.  It was a haven of peace and tranquility compared to the hive of activity going on in the room where the girls were getting ready.  It was really nice chatting with Joy and Rob whilst we completed these photographs.  We loved Natalie's bouquet of white gerberas with black and yellow centres, studded with pink diamantes - a hint at the elegant black, white and pink colour scheme she had chosen.

Next we took the short trip across the hall the Chris's room to photograph him getting ready with best man Mark before heading off outside into the courtyard to spend some time with the boys together.

With the boys' shots taken care of, we returned to Natalie to find her almost ready for her descent down the staircase on the arm of proud dad Rob.  She looked just gorgeous!

Ian's lovely, personal blessing of Natalie and Chris's marriage and a slight hiccup with the unity candle which resulted in some giggles!

Some very impressive confetti throwing!!

After we'd finished the group shots in the courtyard, we enjoyed a stroll with Natalie and Chris around the fabulous grounds of Hazlewood Castle, choosing a few locations for their pictures.  Hazlewood Castle is a wedding photographer's paradise, as well as a newly married couple's!

A Private Dining photograph was really important to Natalie.  We were delighted to oblige.

The girls were up for some fun...

Beautiful Natalie in her beautiful gown!

With the photographs of the Great Hall set up for the wedding breakfast, the lovely little details captured and the before dinner speeches in the can, we left everyone to enjoy dinner.

One of our favourite parts of the day is after dinner when we can spend some time around the venue taking some romantic shots.  Natalie and Chris joined us outside, the sun had gone down, the wind had dropped and we spent a relaxed half hour with them creating some romantic images featuring the castle in the background.

Thank you Mr and Mrs Wilson for choosing us to capture your big day at one of the lovelist wedding venues in Yorkshire.  You were fantastic company and we had a fantastic day with you, your families and friends.  We look forward to designing your amazing storybook wedding album

Wedding photographer York

Wedding photography in York for Sara and Matthew at St Chad's on the Knavesmire and the Marriott Hotel, York on 26 June 2010

Sara booked us to photograph her wedding almost two years ago after a chat over the phone.  We didn't actually meet her and hubby to be Matthew until much later but we are very humbled that Sara trusted us enough to book us for her special day without even meeting us!

Our first port of call on the hottest day of the year so far was the room in the Marriott Hotel in York where Sara was having her make-up applied.  With Sara, three bridesmaids, a mum, a dad, a mum in law to be, a hairdresser, a make-up artist, the lady from the wedding dress shop, plus Sara and Matt's very cute five year old son, Matthew, all in one room, there wasn't much room to move around!  We tucked ourselves into a corner to photograph Sara's accessories and her gorgeous Sophia Tolli gown which she had ordered from France two years ago - what a stunner it was!

Our next stop was at St Chad's on the Knavesmire, which was a new venue for us.  The interior is light and bright and we knew we'd get some really good shots from the back.  With Matthew and his attendants' photographs in the bag, we were able to capture some images of a very special little person with a very important job - Matthew, the ring bearer.

Sara arrived with her very proud mum, Ruby, who had the privilege of giving her beautiful daughter away.  After a lovely ceremony and an impressive display of confetti outside the church, we returned to the Marriott Hotel for the reception where we took care of the small number of groups which Sara and Matthew had requested.

As Yorkshire wedding photographers, we know that the Marriott Hotel has some really great areas inside for photographs!

A stunning bride in a stunning dress!

The finale to the couple's special day was their first dance and a balloon drop.  Mr and Mrs Douglas are now enjoying a fabulous honeymoon in the Bahamas and Las Vegas.  Congratulations and thank you Sara and Matt!
