Wedding Photographer Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel | Claire and Craig

Claire and Craig chose to tie the knot on a Thursday, ensuring that their reception venue, which sometimes hosts two weddings on the same day, was exclusively theirs.

Although we almost always capture the bride getting ready as part of our coverage, Claire had decided against us being there for bridal preparations, so we started with the arrival of Craig and his attendants for their photographs at St Nicholas Church in Thorne, near Doncaster.

When we work at a new venue, we always introduce ourselves to the vicar, not just out of courtesy but to find out what his or her "rules" are regarding capturing the wedding ceremony.  The vicar announced that he was pretty laid back and didn't mind photographs being taken as long as they were without flash and without intrusion. Perfect!
It wasn't the best of starts weather wise with rain forecast on and off all day.  But sometimes the forecasters get it wrong and although it was drizzling when we arrived at the church, men don't tend to mind about this too much and we did manage to keep Craig dry under the arch of the church doorway.  It stopped raining in time for Claire's arrival and stayed dry for the rest of the day, enabling everyone to make the most of the beautiful grounds at Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel.

As Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographers, we never get bored of working at this lovely venue and we are always made extremely welcome by the staff.  The grounds are immaculately maintained and there are several lovely spots for wedding photography which are very close to each other, so you don't spend much time walking from one place to another.  The red roses around the arbour were in full bloom and made a perfect location for some photographs of the couple and some bridal portraits of Claire.

An early ceremony meant plenty of time for photographs and for Claire, Craig and their guests to relax and make the most of the surroundings.  A wedding breakfast at 2 pm meant plenty of daylight hours left after dinner and as Claire and Craig had organised some great outside entertainment for the little kids and big kids alike, it was lovely that the rain stayed away and allowed everyone to enjoy themselves to the full.

Thank you Mr and Mrs Gutteridge for inviting us to share your special day.
